I'm frequent user of a mechanic shop and I found this place just driving by and got out to check a price on a part replacement on one of my vehicles, that's when I met jack, super friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful, they did major repair for the 3 cars that I brought to them at a very reasonable price. Of course we can't forget about Nick, he's Jack's father and the MasterMechanic that supervises every job that comes through, he is the 1st one there in the early morning and the last one to leave at night after everyone's gone, the 2 other mechanics always helped me as well, I'm very happy and thankful! Worked on my truck! My brake lights wouldn't turn off after I turned my truck off, so it needed some repair or my batteries would die, I came just in time and Nick made me feel welcomed, I appreciate the job they did for me. Nick and John are lifesavers. My car decided to turn off at the end of a drive-thru. My friend and I had to push the car and were stranded in the middle of a street. It seemed like there was a problem with the alternator, which would probably take a day or two and $500+ to fix. This was terrible news as we were on a tight budget and on the way to Vegas that evening! John came to the rescue and referred us to Nick's shop. When he realized that we would be homeless if we had to wait another day for the repair to be done, Nick started troubleshooting right away. Mind you, he was already closing up his shop when he got the call from John, so he stayed just to help us out. After about an hour or so, the engine miraculously started. It ended up being a minor problem that could be fixed after I got home from Vegas. Nick didn't hassle us or twist it around like most mechanics do. It's a rare sight for a shop to not take advantage of its customers. We were blown away by their kindness and honesty... and drove to Vegas through the night safe and sound! A huge thanks to Nick and John, for being honest, compassionate and comforting. I wish I could've paid Nick more for his time. I almost cried when John called me the next day to check if we got to Vegas safely. How many tow truck drivers care that genuinely? Got referred to Direct Auto Service Center by a tow truck driver who guaranteed me they would have the best price in the area - he was right! The mechanic (and maybe owner?) Nick was able to identify the problem right away...blown water pump. Thankfully, I knew that coming in and was grateful that he didn't try to press me into more work/parts/services in any way. Got a new water pump, thermostat, and serp belt for ~$150 less than the other shops I talked to in the area, and everything was fixed within 2 hours of my arrival at the shop. Amazing and honest mechanic/shop. Will definitely be back. read more

BEWARE! I had one of the worst auto experiences ever with them. I have a 96 Geo Prizm. It broke down and I had it towed. The tow truck guys recommended this place. It was close to my apartment and I saw the yelp reviews so I thought sure. I asked them to do a diagnostic and tell me everything that is wrong with the car. From there I would determine if it was worth saving or scrapping (the car is getting old). They told me a belt and alternator were needed and that was all. They first were going to charge me 380 which I thought was pretty high. I got anther quote from Trinity Auto that was a hundred lower. When I informed Direct Auto I had a better quote they immediately matched it. I got the car back in about two days and drove it a mile home. I didn't drive it for a two days since I had family in town with a rental car. The day I drove it to work, in less than five miles smoke is coming from under the hood. I make it to work and call Direct Auto up. I tell them smoke is coming from my radiator. The mechanic told me they put water in the radiator. This was the first red flag. I don't know a lot about vehicles but I do know you only should put water in the radiator for emergencies. If the water is left in there, the radiator can rust. Plus water doesn't work as well as anti-freeze. I still don't know why they chose to fill it with water. I was able to take it back to them the next morning, the radiator still smoking. I told them they must have missed something. The mechanic got very upset and said he did not miss anything and that I must have broken it. Yes, he blamed me. I told him I barely drove it and it smoke started coming out. He said he never misses anything and the car is just falling apart. He said he never touched the radiator even though I told him to report any issues to me.. I left the car with them asked them to look at the car again as I had to catch a bus to work and to give me a quote for things that needed fixing. I didn't hear back from them for two days. When I called they said I needed a new radiator which would cost "a lot of money." No quote or exact figure, just "a lot of money." I had enough of this place and took it elsewhere. I was able to get it fixed for a fair price and I am glad to be over this nightmare. I didn't even mention how rude these people were right from the start. I could have cared less if they were rude or not, as long as they fixed the car which they did not do. Bad service. Bad manners. Bad experience. I cannot stress enough to avoid these people at all costs. read more

All I can say is YES!!! Finally found the right mechanic shop for my business. I have a plumbing and electrical service company and we have 15 trucks combined which needs maintenance often an could not find an honest mechanic with the experience and knowledge to diagnose problems. Now I can stop searching I came across to a friend of mine who after hearing of my complaints referred me to Direct Auto in Glendale. Artem is the best! My daughter has a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. While under warranty the car stated shaking. She took it to Glendale Hyundai and they dismissed it as nothing after the diagnostic test came back negative. They suggested that perhaps she wasn't driving it right. We bought it new for her. She had 5 years of driving it just fine. A few months later she returned to Glendale Hyundai and they did another diagnostic test, found nothing wrong. I called Hyundai corporation to complain about this shaking problem. I was in touch with a case manager who gave me a case number, made an appointment with Hyundai Glendale for yet another test. At this time the warranty is now expired but since she took it in while under warranty it was honored. Hyundai Glendale found nothing and 2 miles after leaving the shaking starts up again. She calls the Hyundai case manager who arranged for her to take it to Mission Hills Hyundai. They run diagnostic test and said, maybe it's a fuel filter problem. After leaving the dealership, the car begins it's usual shaking. At this point I yelp best car mechanic in Glendale area. My daughter took the car to artem, at direct Auto and he discovered that the engine mount was wearing out. He tightened the screw and told her to call Hyundai at this was under warranty. Hyundai basically said they can't take an unauthorized Hyundai mechanic word for it so she had the motor mount replaced by direct auto and never had the shaking again. She also had them replace spark plugs and oil change. The price was beyond reasonable. They are honest, decent human beings. They even brought in coffee and pastries for my daughter the day she waited for her Car to get serviced! My daughter wouldn't think of going to any other mechanic except Direct Auto. What a great place. the staff is very honest and understanding. I brought my car in for a service light and they took me in very quickly. when I told them I had to return to work the owner of the shop offered to drive me himself.
