Took my 66 mustang in for a quote to get basic parts added to make it my everyday driver. After taking it to them 4 times because my car has over heated on the freeway and all three times they can't seem to fix a basic engine overheat issue. They didn't pay for my tow ($270), they didn't put the right fuse in the relay for the electric fan, they thought it would be smart to delete the thermostat but boy was that a huge mistake. DO NOT TAKE TOUR CAR HERE! Worst mechanics who can't fix a lightbulb. All they will do is take your money and send you home. For context: i bought the parts that David had helped me search for in the office. Radiator and driving 5 minutes to your shop from my house are beyond the point. Fuses are 2 dollars and easily looking at the specs of the fan that YOU bought would have shown that it takes a 25 amp instead of the kits 20 amp that I had bought. I've already filed a complaint and I suggest other people file a complaint with BAR if this place has done you wrong. Since you're speaking about accountability, I can't hold you accountable but BAR can. No need to talk about the thermostat. That's probably the worst idea I've heard a shop offer to try and fix an issue. I'm done having you fix the car, if you couldn't do it the 4th time what makes you think I'd let you do it a 5th. read more

I will start off by saying nobody takes a vehicle in for repairs and expects their vehicle to come back inoperable. This is exactly what happened to me when I entrusted Bubba's automotive with my vehicle. When I dropped off my vehicle Guillermo told me they need to diagnose the problem as to why my vehicle has lost all power and wasn't running and they called me back according to them they figured out what the issue was and they would have my vehicle up and running and ready by the end of the day. Well.... The end of the day came and they told me they weren't able to fix the vehicle because they did not have the proper parts to do so and that I would have to get my vehicle towed because it wasn't running and there is nothing they could do about it. They charged my credit card $652.67 For a service that was not rendered and a vehicle that was not repaired. I would absolutely not recommend this mechanic shop for any reason whatsoever. I then took my vehicle to a mechanic in Santa Monica who works on imports who didn't work on my vehicle but he told me that I have to take my vehicle to Mercedes Benz to get it fixed because they specialized machinery for my vehicle engine and that's exactly what I did. At least he was honest and told me the truth. Guillermo, the owner refuses to refund me my money back so the next best thing I can do is write this review in hopes that others aren't taken advantage of by this mechanic because of their promises and good prices. Guillermo , the owner also told me that if I write a review he would have google remove the review. He also told me he would start writing bad reviews about me. Like I said, he told me he diagnosed the issue and could fix my vehicle and it would be up and running by the end of the day. The last thing I expected to do was tow my vehicle back home and be left with the same problem I originally came into his establishment with and a CC charge of $652.67 I'm even including photos for proof just in case Guillermo tries to deny any of my claims under this post. In the photos You will see I towed my vehicle to Babbas and at the end of the same day had to towed my vehicle back because they didn't fix the issue. You will also see the charges he made on my CC card from Babbas performance and I will also include the W.I Simonson Mercedes invoice where I took my vehicle to ultimately get worked on and repaired. I also will include the email my financial institution wrote to me in efforts to get the money back but unfortunately his financial institution has declined to do so. read more

The first time I came here he took his time to explain to me what I needed and why after neglecting my car a bit. In the past, I've been thrown information I didn't quite understand and felt taken advantage of because of my lack of knowledge of cars, so it was very important to me to find a shop that would break it down for me and be honest about what was necessary to get done. My tire pressure light wouldn't turn off so I asked them to check what was going on. He had his guy look at it right away, and when it was clear I needed some work done on my tire, he called a different business for me down the street to make sure they could see me and even negotiated the price of the repair down for me. He also stressed that I could come back if the other place didn't recalibrate the tire pressure light for me. I've been coming to Bubba's for 3 years and counting. It started with replaced a cooling intake valve when it was leaking coolant. That was when I met David and the crew. Everyone was so friendly, efficient, easy to understand and honest. They have also fixed this belt thing that snapped in my engine and it's been working perfect ever since. Awhile back I "failed" a smog check because the guy could smell "hydrocarbons". Of course he offered to "fix it" and quoted me an outrageous price. I took it to Bubba's and they said my car was fine and that I should fight the failed smog test. It was a pain, but I did it! My car means a lot to me because it was my late father's. So keeping it working is important to me. It's a 2013 Dodge Avenger with nearly 200,000 miles. And thanks to Bubba's performance, it's still going strong. We went to Bubbas performance and more auto shop in Silverlake. We had problems with our 2015 Honda civic for months. Every time we were driving our car, if we turned the engine off for an even a few minutes - we had a hard time restarting the car. You could turn the key, all the lights on the dash would light up, but it wouldn't start. Every week we would get stuck in a parking lot for 20 minutes or anyplace while running errands. We took it to the Honda dealership twice and they tested it and could never find anything wrong. We took it to Bubbas after the technician at Valvoline recommended them. Guillermo and the team were warm and welcoming, very professional and were able to use one of their machines to identify that we needed a new starter. They ordered it immediately from a distributor nearby and we hung out in their waiting room enjoying the A/C while they worked on it. We also had fun playing with dog Oso! We were done in about an hour. Fair price, good service, and they identified and fixed a problem that the Honda dealership didn't have the patience to find.
