Brought my 2014 kia soul with wheel bearing issues along with slight brake/rotor problems, but realistically I could only afford one repair at a time. I asked Armando what I should prioritize first, and instead of trying to upsell me into panic, he explained what actually mattered most right now and what could wait a little longer. I ended up paying around $430-ish for the wheel bearing repair and the difference is honestly insane. My car used to sound awful and feel stressed just existing on the road. Now it glides so smoothly it feels suspiciously close to an electric vehicle. Huge difference. What I appreciated most was the honesty. While I was there, another woman came in after an accident wanting to fix one cosmetic area near the tire. Armando explained why spending money only on that part wouldn't really solve the larger issue long term. You could tell she was disappointed because the bigger repair was expensive, but he genuinely didn't want her wasting money towing it to him..even if it could've been as easy sell. That kind of honesty is rare nowadays. He'll tell you the truth, even when it's not the answer people necessarily want to hear. Armando and Manuel were both professional, fair, and accommodating through the whole process. They even helped coordinate a third-party payment over the phone during a stressful situation for me, which helped more than they probably realize. Had a major tune up done since I'm almost at 100k. Had the spark plugs replaced, water pump & thermostat replaced, cleaned the egr, cleaned the throttle body, PCV changed, brake fluid changed, inverter coolant & engine coolant, had the batteries tested, serviced the ac. The ac was so cold I had to turn it off and usually that don't happen. Armando and the other mechanic did a awesome job, I took it early in the morning and since this was an all day job it was ready at the end of the day. Armando showed me my old parts and it was definitely time to service my Prius. Best part about Advance Electronic Engine Auto Repair is the price, no way I would of got the same price anywhere else. Just drive to Advanced Electronic Engine AS now. Then read this review while Armando is looking over your car. My Toyota's check engine light had been on for some time. Registration renewal was due soon and required a smog check. I took my car to several mechanics who either couldn't determine what the problem was or who mistakenly, but confidently, misdiagnosed it with anywhere from costly engine fix with no outcome guarantee to "it can't be fixed". With registration due date coming up I gave Armando's a try on a Saturday morning. When I arrived Armando was finishing up work on a gentleman's car. The gentlemen and I got to chatting. I told him this was probably going to be my last attempt at repairing my car's check engine light related mystery problem on a budget before moving on to another used car. He smiled and told me I was in the right place. Armando had just fixed his persistent check engine light as his registration was coming due soon as well. Armando ran a diagnostic test that registered several codes that were triggering the check engine light. He informed me what each code meant. Then he explained his plan to attempt to repair and eliminate them one by one with very reasonable price estimates for each stage. He understood the car was too old to dump too much money into. Armando performed all the repairs himself and alerted me to issues that weren't causing the check engine light but which he would address at little to no extra charge. I drove my car home after his two stage repair. No check engine light. I called Armando with the good news. He suggested I have him run a diagnostic one more time just to be certain there were no remaining issues. At no extra charge. I brought it in. No surprises with the final diagnostic. Then drove it straight to a smog shop. Passed the smog test! Thanks Armando. Btw, the Echo Park lake is a short 5 minute walk from Armando's shop. Armando is a fantastic mechanic and super honest. This is the only place I bring my cars to and I highly recommend. I have been here several times for various repairs to my Jeep. Just today I brought a new car to him for an oil change. Armando showed me that the previous place had forgotten to put all the screws and clips back into the cover under the car and so at no extra cost he got new ones for me and put everything back together the way it came from the factory. First off, would like to thank Armando for an amazing job. Prior coming to his shop, I looked into many different places to see if they could fix my headlights but most of the responses were 'we can't do this here' or 'you'll have to take it to a specialist'. So I did, and luckily I came across his shop. Once you enter into the premises, there are a bunch of other repair shops in the plaza but his shop is located in the very right corner of the entrance. No need to worry for parking as he will get you situated once you identify the problems with your vehicle. Told him what my problems were and he was honest saying this might be a deep diagnostic issue and if it is, he would let me know. Luckily we just had to replace the bulbs, and while doing so, the previous people who worked on my car apparently messed up the wiring pretty bad but he replaced everything with OEM parts and better LED lights I had on before to put me at ease. Of course all cars are case by case, but I paid a third of what I was expecting so only show's how competitive he is compared to other repair shops. We all know finding a good/honest mechanic is just as hard as finding a good/honest significant other. I got tired of my car making this strange clanking noise every time I took a hard turn(left and right) so I thought I would play it safe this time and take my coupe to Pep Boys. I Walked into my local Pep Boys and as I was waiting in the service line an employee who looked the part of a "mechanic" picks up a customers phone call for the service department and after a short talk he then turns to his manager and asks him, "Cars have a transmission filter and oil?" LOL. You should have seen the managers face when he was asked that question in front of everyone; after that I marched myself straight out of there. On Google I saw a fantastic review for Advanced Electronic Engine and my intuition told me to go check the place out. Didn't look like much, but this place actually does have a Certified ASE Master Tech working there and he was quite pleasant to deal with. His name is Armando and he was able to effortlessly change the CV Joints/Axles on my coupe and NOT charge me an arm and a leg for parts and labor. He then took it upon himself to further inspect my car and found that the differential oil needed to be topped off so he did at no extra charge. Wow! Who does that?? I'm so glad I went to Advanced Electronic Engine in October 2017 and found Armando. I won't be taking my cars anywhere else from now on. Seriously. Because the car is a 2004 model I had a feeling it was going to be expensive, I know enough about cars not to get totally ripped off. After contacting several mechanics I found Armando and based on the reviews I decided to take my car to him. Im happy I did. He is thorough, explains in detail and will let you know what options you have without trying to upsell. He will suggest things that you might need attention. In my case one of the parts which was aftermarket didn't work correctly so he ordered another one, that didn't work either so he found a OEM part online and placed the order. When it finally arrived he contacted me to install it and it worked the check engine light was off. The part was more expensive than the aftermarket but Armando did not charge me the difference for the part or the shipping. He provides excellent service for a reasonable price. He will check the car and test drive it to make sure the work was done properly, which is why his place is always busy with customers. read more
