Stay away! Stay far far away. We took our car to Luis the first time to fix an engine overheating and coolant leaking. He charged us $800. The car drove 10 miles and the problem still persisted. He apologized profusely and said he'd come by our place to look at it and the car sat for two months and he never came. We took it back to him and he had it for three months and it still wasn't fixed. We already paid him $800 and weren't going to pay again for a problem that should have been fixed so the work went incompleted. Countless calls and texts went unanswered. When we did manage to get a hold of him there was always an excuse. Then when we were finally able to pick up our car he made it sound like it was our fault the car wasn't working properly. Luis is the man! Convinced he can fix anything. I came to Luis with the dreaded BMW e-brake rattle near the drive shaft or above the drive shaft. A job that many folks state online takes several hours and the need to remove gas tank, exhaust and other surrounding parts. Not the case here. My guy Luis did this job in 1 hour and maybe 15 minutes, first time trying it. If you have the f30 BMW chasis and you have the e-brake rattle of death, come talk to Luis. I tried several times to get my phone call answered, I have a 65 riviera that I wanted to get the motor rebuilt completely, I had 20k for him to do work. He replaced the Carburetor gasket that stopped the hissing sound and put in a brand new gas tank. Truck starts up without a hitch and drives like champ. I took in my 1968 Mustang (November 2017) to fix the disc brake conversion someone else did on my car as well as some minor electrical issues that have been nagging me for awhile. Moved to Los Feliz for only two days and came out to a stolen car battery Monday morning. After getting a new battery at Autozone, I noticed my car not feeling the same. My alarm wire got clipped so it made me wonder if any other parts were missing. Drove to Eagle Auto Repair and Luis's dad suggest maybe I should leave the car so they can check it. Luis is the BEST! The ONLY auto place I trust my car with, ever. I feel so lucky to have stumbled into Eagle Auto back when they were located on York. They've got an awesome new shop on Fletcher! Luis is so honest that one time he had given me an estimate and it ended up being less work than they anticipated so he charged me less accordingly! I don't know a ton about cars, he could have totally ripped me off but you can tell immediately that they are NOT those kind of mechanics. Luis himself has told me he knows we get what we give in this world. Luis and his dad have been doing this their whole lives and know the importance of trust and community. I've been coming in with my 2007 Mustang for a couple years now and every time I have been impressed by how quickly they worked, sometimes SO quick to help me out in a pinch before I drove out of town. One time I took the car in cause I heard a funny noise but when Luis drove it with me in the car, we didn't hear the noise anymore. He told me about how powerful our energy is and that sometimes we project our stress or worry onto the technology around us. We got into a conversation into the wonders of Wayne Dyer, which is right up my alley, and Luis suggested I give my car good, trusting energy. It could sound silly to someone else, but to me I was like WOW what a powerful and honest thing to say. He could have taken my car in and charged me for fixing some "sound" but once again, he assessed that there wasn't anything to fix! Did I mention affordable? He tells you exactly what is wrong, he shows you in person, he tells you the cost of the part and where the part is made and whether it is under warranty (almost always is), etc. VERY thorough, so you're never in the dark about what's happening. They were able to do a number of things to get it running again, electrical, radiator, carburetor, air filter, starter, gas pump, brakes, brake lights, and I am sure I am missing some things. This review is long overdue! Luis and Family are amazing mechanics! We have been going here for about 3 years, and will come back even if we move out of the neighborhood. Luis goes above and beyond to diagnose and fix our Hondas. I have a Honda 2000 Accord, that started stalling on start. I read up on the issue, and there were tons of forums, and youtube videos about it. The fixes ranged anything from main relay, to replacing the whole comp unit (too expensive for me with an older car), so I took it to Luis to fix my leaking radiator and see if he could figure out the stalling issue too. He was really patient and tried a few different things, he was able to pinpoint the issue (temperature gauge), and rule out A LOT of other things it could have been (the ignition, the computer, valves, etc.) Not only was it super affordable to fix, but I know most other places would have given up on it, and just told me I needed to replace a lot more than he did. His dedication to my problem, really showed me how much he cares about his customers, we are people/neighbors to him, not walking wallets like so many other places in LA. What can I say. I am blown away. Small town personal service in the big city. I had my radiator replaced at a very competitive price- (I shopped around), and they had it back to me in a couple hours. The next day- My car starts overheating on my way to work! I called them, completely frustrated because i was on my way to work- but before i could even begin to complain- he told me to pull over and let the car cool down. I told him i was on the way to work, he asked me how far. I said eight miles. He was there in 10 minutes. He DROVE ME ALL THE WAY TO WORK- then went back to my car and put it on a tow truck. The next day i found out it tat the thermostat was just stuck, a common even when replacing a radiator. Now it's on the road and running again. Now- here's the kicker: I found out he had just gotten married two days before and only stopped into the shop to pick something up when i called! He interrupted his honeymoon to drive me to work!
