Cute little cafe in Everett! The coffee was super good - we ordered the iced Cortado, but definitely want to come back for the iced cappuccino! The food was also great & super fresh, we tried the breakfast burrito and the breakfast biscuits. Both were extremely fresh and tasty! The service was also great, food came out at decent time even though it was very busy! Seating is slightly limited but we were able to get a table before food arrived

Exceptional cappuccino!!! If you're looking for a coffee shop that focuses more on the extraction process and flavor of the espresso than sugar and syrups of coffee "dessert drinks," this is the place! The barista was very knowledgeable and pulled the perfect shot of espresso for my morning cappuccino. I love to experience a new city through their coffee shops and Narrative does not disappoint! There were even a couple of friendly locals who struck up a nice conversation with me while I waited.

If you are looking for a place that believes in quality food and drinks at a reasonable price, look no further! Alex and his Team provide great customer service as well as a cozy spot to enjoy their delicious creations! We enjoyed a couple of coffees with our Biscuit Benny and Strawberry French Toast prepared by the amazing Miss Anna. We will definitely be back!

What can you say about Narrative Coffee that hasn't already been said? If you want a truly well-made, great-tasting, beautifully presented coffee drink, this is the place. Staff is always friendly; ambiance is great - cozy. Whenever I'm downtown Everett, I make it a point to stop by Narrative.

You'd never know how incredible the food is here if you grew up around Everett. My boyfriend was a little standoffish because of how he remembered the area years back. But once we walked into Narrative coffee he was so surprised at how clean and delicious the food was. It's a scratch kitchen, fresh breads and biscuits. The ham and cheese sandwich was so good and the coffee options were so fun!

Nice friend cafe with great options for a quick breakfast. The avocado toast was delicious with a side of real bacon. Nice cozy moment with the husband's chi and my tea. Great customer service with an inviting atmosphere.

I got their seasonal pumpkin spice latte and avocado toast and both were delicious! I liked how their latte wasn't super sweet, and the avocado toast had a lot of flavor. The place itself was also very cute - it had red brick and was a large space! Overall, I would definitely recommend checking it out!

Gluten free biscuits tdf - SO yummy! For food, I got the buttermilk biscuit sandwich on a gluten free biscuit and L got the biscuit egg and cheese. For drinks, I got a decaf oat milk latte and L got a limewired. Everything was delicious - I was not a fan of the limewired but L said it was refreshing and tasted better as she drank it - but it was a very expensive outing. It's a very nice environment though, record playing in an open space with lovely staff!

A subpar experience. We ordered The Wetmore Sandwich and the Ham & Gruyere Sandwich. However, we ended up receiving a Grilled Cheese sandwich instead the Ham one. We kept the Grilled Cheese and they offered a refund for the Ham one, which was understanding and kind of them. The Wetmore sandwich tasted decent, but was lacking in protein and not worth the price. The service was unfortunately very slow too

Excellent experience at Narrative Coffee. This place absolutely lives up to the hype. The breakfast was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor--perfectly cooked eggs, crisp bacon, great bread, and quality sides that clearly aren't an afterthought. The coffee was equally strong--smooth, well-balanced, and exactly what you want to start the day. Everything felt intentional, from the menu execution to the presentation. The atmosphere is warm and inviting without being pretentious, and service was friendly and efficient even during a busy morning. A great spot for breakfast or brunch, and one I'll gladly return to.

I got a 8oz Latte and Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich with a gluten free biscuit. I absolutely LOVE that they have gluten free options but $3 extra just for a GF biscuit is insane to me. The food was good and it was the best GF biscuit I've had, I just can't justify the price. The code was good, not amazing but I drank it all. The service was great! The cashier/barista was very friendly and offered recommendations. After tip my total was $23 I really like interior and vibes of the place. I wouldn't not come again due to the price but it was delicious so if ur a bug biscuit fan I would definitely try it out!

Wow! This adorable little cafe takes you right out of Everett! The coffee is delicious and they order it from reputable roasters. The food was also a pleasant surprise! Fresh and tasty with wonderful flavors. Love this little cafe!

Cute place way over priced. We are in Everett not downtown Seattle. Why did a breakfast sandwich and 4oz coffee cost me 27 bucks? Foods fair but prices are outrageous. You have to pay extra for meat so to my surprise I'm eating a biscuit with cheese and egg nothing else.

(gotta climb in the Wayback Machine for that gem!) I loved that I saw at least six versions of my childhood dining room table, which felt so nostalgically comfortable that I wanted to crawl under one with my coloring books and my chocolate milk. But I digress -- you're supposed to be reading my review. I decided that I was in the mood for grilled cheese and tomato soup, so that's what I ordered. The tomato soup is really amazing -- so fresh tasting and delicious. But the sandwich was next level nom-ness. I opted to get it on sourdough because it's the best for dunking into the soup. It definitely worked on me - usually specials are relegated to a small corner of the menu, but here they are front and center. I couldn't resist and so I got the Pot Roast Dip. It's a sandwich that has a good amount of pot roast, some bacon jam that's glued together with provolone and Swiss cheese all on a Giuseppe roll (From Macrina Bakery? It's a crust roll). The bacon jam and sandwich dressing makes the sandwich really sweet, but the Angus sauce is very salty, and so when the sandwich is dipped it all balances out interestingly enough. It was good to try, but I think I'll order something else next time. I also got a Mocha latte- very smooth and delicious. I would get this again! Their bathrooms are shared with the rest of the building - the code is at the cashiers. The wifi password is right next to it too. You grab a menu, wait in line to order, and then they bring your food to you. Bus your own table when you're done. Solid spot.

We're both omnivores who eat a fair amount of plant-based fare for health reasons (I have allergies and intolerances, she's heeding doctor's advice). To be clear, this is a cafe, not a full blown restaurant. They serve luncheon fare, but it's a small operation so be either patient to don't bother - especially if there's a line. It's counter ordering with payment expected in advance. The tables closest to the window are a *little* harrowing because of the ADA ramp that leads to the door: the closest chairs can teeter down the ramp if the chairs are pushed back too far. Be careful. There are huge, regular, and small tables available. The biggest table is a little tricky to navigate for folks who want to sit in the booth side, but once seated it's quite lovely. I ordered the Pesto Pasta (involving zoodles: zucchini noodles) and a Sun Juice. My friend ordered the Grilled Cheese and Bisque. Please note: it's worth looking around this place while waiting for your food. You can conceivably get your own water, napkins and cutlery if you walk far enough along the counter towards the back of the restaurant. Back there, you may also notice a single-occupancy restroom and bins for bussing your own dishes. The Sun Juice arrived first, freshly blended, and was delicious. If that's what their juice is like, I look forward to exploring their smoothie offerings. My pasta arrived looking BEAUTIFUL on a bed of spinach, and smelled just as good. It tasted a teensy bit more of salt than I would've liked, but then I speared a sun dried tomato with my next bite and remembered that I'm not a food critic, just a happy customer. Although I'm not generally a fan of zoodles, they seemed to have the art of cooking them down pat: they didn't distract from the pesto at all. The bisque had an artful design of (coconut? cashew?) cream on top. My friend was delighted to note that it was a bit of spice to it: nothing challenging, but just enough for her to find comforting. Given the light and airy look of the inside and the rather rustic / flower-child look of the outside, she was not expecting that surprise. She was so impressed with the grilled cheese sandwich that she offered me a bite: we were both quite impressed with the "cheese" they used, as the item was listed as vegan on the menu. My friend kept whining that she's doomed, as they're close to where she lives *and* they deliver. Oh, yeah - poor her, indeed. Alas, alack, and so on.

I can say we were all pretty disappointed in this place. The staff was the only positive that we took away from this experience. Both servers that we encountered were both kind and attentive. The drinks and food however totally missed the marks. We all started off with drinks 2 margaritas, a gin gimlet and a beer between the four of us. The margaritas were terrible, like I am not sure how they put them as a feature drink. They had zero jalapeños and also offered no spicy margarita whatsoever. My wife's gin gimlet tasted like straight up lime juice. All were complete misses. Next we moved on to the food where each couple ordered a dozen wings. The X's and O's( fries and onion rings) and we also ordered a wedge salad. The wedge salad came out and idk how it was marketed as wedge when it was a bowl of salad completely engulfed in dressing(closer to soup than salad). Next the fries and onion rings came out and I'm not usually a stickler for what things cost, but $17 for like 6 onion rings and a very sad plate of fries. We expected a bit more for what we ordered for the table. Lastly the wings. While the flavoring of the wings were good, they came out not too warm to the touch and biting into them they were cold on the inside. Concerned that we may get sick from uncooked meat they assured us that they were precooked and just dropped into the fryer to finish them off. To me it is concerning that though they were precooked and still missed on hearing them all way, you may need to have a chat with your kitchen. Both of the servers were on top of it and ran both dozens back to have our order recooked. Second time around they were hot and crispy with good flavor(although the garlic boom boom wings were missing one of the sauces the second time around). It didn't matter, we ate them and paid. Not sure we will put this on our revisit list. Maybe the burgers or flatbread were the way to go, but out of 3 menu items and even the drinks.... There needs to be much more effort to everything here...

One thing to note, if you do go here in the morning for breakfast the whole menu is open to order, except the pizza....which I thought was kinda funny since pizza is in the name. We got there at 9 so I imagine they start serving pizza 11 or noon? Either way, I will come back just to try the pizza.

Service was a bit slow initially but they gifted us 2 desserts for the graduates. Rye squeakeasy was very strong but to my personal preference. I imagine too strong for the majority of folks. They had a rhubarb special going. Colleague had the rhubarb special halibut - sauce per them was a bit sweet for their preference. The cioppino was good and price wise maybe a better value than the rest of the menu. Came with lots of seafood. It was on the bit of the saltier side for my preference - the sweetness of the seafood was lost to the salt. Free parking (plenty) in the lot.

Food was good - I had the salmon and it was excellent. Table service was adequate. The young woman…read morewho bussed our table was top notch, offering better customer service than anyone else on staff that night and far beyond our actual waitperson. Apparently there is no point in making a reservation. We had to wait for a table despite having made a reservation, which brings this restaurant down to the level of fast food or greasy-spoon diner - very disappointing. I see this as a huge failure of management. If someone arrives on time for their reservation, they should be seated immediately, no excuses. Failing this shows a complete disregard for and disrespect of the customer. It is a reservation, not a general comment that we might arrive. Kudos to the chef(s) for very good food and to the busser who seemed to grasp customer service better than others. There is room for improvement on table / reservation management, to put it mildly.
