One of the few sushi places in town that actually serves alcoholic beverages! This little place is conveniently located just off I-70 right between Plainfield and Mooresville. It's never overly crowded the wait staff is friendly the place is well decorated and clean. I honestly have nothing at all bad to say about the food! This is not a hibachi steakhouse, but they do offer hibachi. Which, in addition to the sushi, is also delicious. For my Mooresville crowd - this is a more upscale option than A1 & perfect for a date night or girls night out! I will say this as a negative - there is defiantly a awful smell coming from their sewer. I'm not sure it's the establishments fault or not. It might be the grease trap (?) But it's unsettling on your stomach - so if you can avoid the facilities - do so! It's really too bad, because otherwise the place is a little gem. read more

One of the worst sushi experiences I've had. Sushi came out at an unappetizing temperature -it was borderline room temperature. The cuts were rough looking and the meal left me pretty queasy the entire next day. Our waitress was new, and obviously had zero experience in waiting tables or sushi. We fumbled through everything. I tried to order some "house sake" and the confusion that ensued was a precursor to the entire experience. Every question we asked was received with a puzzled look. I understand she was new and did not speak very good English but it was beyond frustrating, especially with something as particular as sushi. Everything was good until the sushi chef threw a tray on the floor and glared at me because he thought I was taking pictures. I was sitting at the bar, eating some (cold) edimame and following up on work emails when I heard the clammer. The waitress quickly came over and tore the handwritten "CANNOT take pictures" sign off the bar in front of me. She told me that it wasn't me and walked away. A few minutes later, the manager walked over and accused me of taking pictures. After showing him my phone gallery to prove I wasn't taking pictures, he said I could stay and apologized profusely, as did the chef, accompanied by small talk about where I'm from. On top of the long wait, screeching child that sounded like a cat in distress, cold edimame, and sticky floors, I will not be returning to this location ever. read more

DO NOT ORDER PICK UP from this place. We ordered 3 sushi rolls and an appetizer. Proximately at 5:20, the order online said that it would be ready for pick up at 5:58. We show up to pick up our food and the restaurant is a disaster. There is no one to even ask about your order. There are some private costumers waiting, some door dash and some Grubhub. They don't even have your order in, totally disorganized. The only person you can even ask about it is unable to communicate with understandable English. When an order is ready instead of them figuring out who it belongs to, they sit it on the bar countertop and tell the costumers to look at it and see if it is their order...When you try to approach the sushi bar where a man is making the rolls (without wearing a mask) he just ignores you if you ask him a question. We waited until 6:58 pm and our food had not even been made. When we complained that they should have told us that it would be way longer to have our food ready the man who appears to be the owner started yelling at the costumers who are asking questions to LEAVE, he said this multiple times.... I have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant before so save your time and money before you go here. The dining area wasn't even very full at all. They have a sign asking you to be patient but there is a limit. If you don't have enough staff to run a restaurant then don't or at least do not accept orders for pick up, or on the order say it will take 3 hours to have your food ready. read more

Hoped Yelp was wrong, so I gave it a try. Walked in early on a Tuesday evening, just around 530. Since I was by myself, I asked to be seated at the Sushi bar, as I normally do when travelling alone for work. Surprisingly, the hostess (who turned out to be my waitress) said the Sushi bar was reserved. I rounded the corner, and a single customer sat at the bar. I was about to turn around, but decided to give it a go. After getting a blank look while asking if they offered Omakase, the waitress brought the sushi chef out. He was not Japanese, but knew about Omakase, and said they did not offer that option. I wanted to give them a chance, so I opted for a couple of orders of nigiri. The white tuna and hamachi were fresh and tasty, but I was a bit put off by the atmosphere, so I did not order anything else. As I left, the sushi bar, and most of the restaurant was empty. I would recommend looking elsewhere for sushi in the Indianapolis area until they fix their service issues. read more

If you love sushi, grilled steak & chicken, or any type of japanese cuisine, this place is great. Narita is in Plainfield right of I-70, a pretty good location in my opinion. There might be a day here and there where they're slow, but they seem to be at a good pace for most of the time. The restaurant is clean every time I've been there. The sushi is very fresh and the other food is delicious. For those wondering, it isn't a steakhouse. I'm not a sushi fan but love the cooked Japanese/Asian dishes. The Chicken Katsu with dipping sauces is so good, as is the ton katsu, pad zew and habachi meals, fresh, hot, never greasy and full of flavor. The wait staff is very engaged and friendly. The environment was actually kind of cold. Not cozy. The booths are uncomfortable. I think there is an attempt to look high end, but the food does not live up to high end. If I could give less stars I would. There were bugs in my food. Whatever - I'll pay for my drink and leave, but I am not going to pay for food that had bugs in it that I am not going to eat. The waitress even tried to convince us that there were no bugs even though we literally saw them in the food and flying around. We didn't even get our sushi rolls because we just wanted to leave. I left money for my drink and a tip and was confronted by the waitress (who gave horrible service on top of the bugs in our food). I was here last week and decided on getting a lobster roll. At first the waitress seemed rude, but is actually really nice. I'm addition to my lobster roll, I ordered a lemonade. I don't think that they do To-Go orders very often, so they put the lemonade in a soup container, and gave me way more than I asked for. When I got back to my hotel, I tried the roll, and it was a little too much fried onion, and the lobster wasn't fresh. I would not recommend getting this roll, unless you like fried food! read more

My teacher, cousin, and I stopped here on the way back from our leadership conference in Washington D.C. I read the reviews and was surprised at the amount of criticism this restaurant received. All three of us thought it had great food at a low cost. The service was great too! Our waiter gave our teacher free soup and salad with her sushi and frequently checked to see if we needed anything. I stopped here for lunch after I flew in to Indianapolis airport. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is quiet/relaxing. My food was ok. The ginger salad was pretty good. They have a great ginger dressing. I didn't really like my miso soup. It was bland and didn't have the savory element characteristic of miso. I got the hibachi scallops. There were at least 12 scallops which was awesome. However, the flavor of the dish was so-so. Overall, the price was right at $9.75 for scallop hibachi with soup and salad. read more

I walked in after a long flight from Cali. They were soon to close in an hour but did not appear rushed to take my order and chat it up over IND vs NY, who was dominating. Only one real concern, the wasabi sauce was sweet and I expect with the description that I would get a mild punch in the back of my head. This was not our first visit to Narita, but definitely the worst. The men's bathroom was the in bad shape, like a over used truck stop bathroom bad. The waitress was very sweet, but lacked knowledge of the menu and did not know how to pour a beer. A basic understanding of English could have prevented a lot of miscommunication. We ordered 3 sushi rolls and a chicken and egg noodle dish. The sushi was 75% rice and quality was sub par. I specifically requested no vegetables in the noodle dish, and it came with lots of vegetables. I had a good time dining here while I was in town for a conference. Service was quick and sushi was decent for the Midwest. I had hot tea with the Arizona roll (OK), inside-out Philadelphia roll (delicious!), and the Shiro Tiger roll (also delicious!). My bill was about $30.
