Softshell crab, salmon and tuna nigiri, Agadashi tofu, and Dark Angel Roll.

Lovely Japanese restaurant hidden away in a converted house. Food is always fresh and prepared with care. All items arrived to the table quickly and piping hot! Parking in back is adequate and easily accessed from the alley behind the building. Service is always polite and friendly! We will be back again for sure :)

This is a cozy and quaint little shop. You feel cozy and content as soon as you sit down...I love it! We were seated straight away, and our server was polite and contagiously happy to see us. Our drinks were on the table within minutes and the order was taken shortly after. We had four dishes and each one was prepared with love and thoughtfully plated. The quality was above and beyond all that we could have expected. I enjoyed every bite and so did my guest. The Sushi Poppers were everything we had heard and then some. They, all by themselves, would warrant a return visit. I visit Greenwood often and I will put Yokohama at the top of my dinner list!

The rolls are bigger than you think. They warn you with signage. 2 rolls and a starter is plenty for 2 hungry adults. My absolute favorite roll is the Tsunami! Such a gem. Unique and cozy. Staff is so friendly.

It had been a while since we had visited this quaint restaurant on Madison Ave. in Greenwood. It is contained in a converted charming bungalow with plenty Japanese appeal inside. The husband/wife team makes you feel comfortable and eager to sample their amazing dishes. Unlike many places, Yokohama' quality in food and service has not been altered in any way. My wife had a Bento Box with teriyaki beef. Oh my, the ribeye still is the most tender beef anywhere around. The box had an ample assortment of incredibly prepared Japanese fare. My shrimp and scallop dish was well prepared and the seafood, including the salmon was outstanding in this entree. We will visit again and not wait as long this time. Thank you for keeping your standards high.

What a wonderful experience we had here tonight. We were greeted right when we walked in, whom I believe was the owner. We were sat down at our table, and the waitress quickly came and got our drinks. I loved the vibe of the restaurant- old house getting repurposed into a new space. I ordered the Wafu steak, and my wife and mother ordered a bento box. The entrees came with a salad and miso soup...I've definitely had better ginger house dressing at other restaurants, but it was still good...I tried the miso soup but didn't like it- but never really have been a fan- the other people in my party said it was good. Man, the Wafu steak was so good that I had to contemplate if I was going to return the next day and re-order it. The sauce on it was super flavorful...I upgraded to the fried rice, and it was also delicious. Overall, super pleased with our experience here and can't wait to return- also a big pro that it's a local business where the owners still work at.

Yokohama recently reopened after some bad luck with weather on Christmas. To say that their fan base missed them is an understatement! The restaurant is back and better than ever. Debbie and Scott are still the heart and soul of this place and you can tell in the food and fellowship in the restaurant. Here was our night in food: Apps - gyoza, tuna tataki, and edamame Rolls: Our kids ordered a spider roll and a volcano (dinner & a show) Hubs and I ordered a sweetheart and a volcano. We literally inhaled every bite! Everything was fresh and prepared to perfection. We're so glad to be back

Decided to stop by here last night for a bit of sushi and were pleasantly surprised with what we found. There was a friendly greeting at the door and we were promptly seated even without a reservation. We started with a drink. They served beer and wine along with soft drinks and tea. My husband had a nice sweet red wine and I opted for tea. My husband had the seafood hibachi which he said was good. I had a bento box with teriyaki beef that was amazing. The beer was flavorful and tender. It also came with 2 spring rolls, 3 gyozas, 4 pieces of California roll and white rice. There was enough left for lunch the next day. Both of the entrees came with miso soup and a side salad with that yummy ginger dressing. Service was fast and friendly and the quiet atmosphere was a great way to unwind on a weekday. It was nice that they thanked us for coming in. Give this little place a try.

Food 8/10: Not their fault because it was my first time going to a Japanese restaurant but it was good Service 9/10: Waiter gave us good recommendations and the food came quick Ambiance 8/10: Restaurant was very quiet and relaxing. I recommend speaking quietly as to not ruin the atmosphere of the restaurant. Feels very much like a family home.

Relaxing , quaint little restaurant to have good fresh sushi. I had the house salad, salmon sashimi and the volcano roll. All items were fresh and tasty. The staff and service were friendly and accommodating. If you're in the mood for good sushi, or even a nice relaxing peaceful dinner date, I would recommend. I would return when I'm in the Greenwood area.

They were pretty quick at getting my order ready as I did a highly recommended order online for pickup. There is also a small indoor dining area if you'd like. So now to the food .... I'd say I agree they REALLY need to have some sauce or flavoring. The chicken and beef had more pepper than sauce if that says anything and that was minimal. The chicken and the beef hibachi were good but I could fire this up at home and it would taste better than this honestly plain chicken breast and steak. The steak was low quality but I expected that for the awesome price . Very, VERY minimal veggies. The zucchini is very thinly sliced and I'd say it had 4 pieces chopped in quarters max on my plate. The togo container is the typical size of 1 big (rice area) and 2 small side areas (meat and veggies) if that tells you what to expect. The pricing is good though for what you get. Now the Chinese dish (general tso's) was excellently done. Plenty of sauce and plenty of meat so that's confusing when comparing to Japanese dishes. Unfortunately I'm gonna make some people upset with my honest review but it's a heads up on what you're getting. I'm just gonna stick with making these at home unless I want Chinese food

This is the first time visiting Kumo and it did not disappoint. We called a few days ahead to place…read morereservations for 7 of us for the hibachi side. If you are not wanting to participate in the live hibachi you can order from a menu at a regular table. Upon arriving we were promptly seated and asked if there was a birthday which it was mine and they went above and behind to make my day special. We did have 2 people join our table after we ordered our drinks and they were the perfect addition to our table. So be prepared to sit with people you don't know like other hibachi places however just embrace the newness it's not too bad especially once the hibachi show begins. Our server was outgoing and friendly. He kept up on our drinks both regular and alcoholic including shots after dinner. I personally shared the flaming volcano drink(I think was the name) menu said it was for 2 people honestly with the ice in it we both agreed it would be just fine for one person. The drink was well balanced and didn't taste like alcohol and could sneak up on you for sure The other drinks that were ordered were all great and tasted exactly as expected. The pink shot is a little strong but so good and definitely worth a shot . We ordered 3 different sushi options all were good and exactly as you would expect however the million dollar roll stood out the most. Even a non sushi eater enjoyed it. Spicy. Lobster tempura, topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, spicy mayo and eel sauce. That as copied directly from their website and let me tell you that lobster was huge for being inside of a sushi roll. Give it a try you won't be disappointed it's worth the 20$ for that one roll. From the regular appetizer side we ordered crab ragoon which was creamy and fresh one of the best I've ever had. We also tried yellow tail an it had fresh jalapeno on it you tell the fish was very fresh Each hibachi meal is served with salad with a wonderful ginger flavored dressing. You also receive a soup and it was bland and not as good as others we've had. For hibachi the hibachi for 2 is the way to go if there's 2 people in your party that are wanting a variety. You don't share a plate or anything the chef just gives you your own full portion of everything on your own plate. The hibachi for 2 comes with shrimp and 2 additional shrimp that they give everyone, steak, chicken, lobster and scallops as well as rice and veggies. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection and was tender and juicy. 2 sets of 2 ordered this and we all took leftovers home which were amazing the next day as well. The only other hibachi that our group tried that I haven't already mentioned was the salmon and it was flaky and not too dry had a great seasoning on it. So for the hibachi show we were a little concerned at first as our chef didn't seem as upbeat and outgoing as others we had heard at other tables. However once he got started he was great. He also asked about birthdays and he immediately grabbed his squirt bottle and had me grab a napkin and was yelling Saki Saki and from behind the grill he squirted saki in my mouth and he didn't stop until my mouth was completely full now that was a shot and surprisingly it didn't taste too bad at all. Everyone at the table thought it was just water but they all quickly found out it wasn't as he went around the whole table and gave everyone a shot of it and then had a baby bottle with juice in for the minors to not feel left out. Then he took veggies and went around the table trying to get them in each persons mouth and he doesn't give up until you catch it. He also had the table sing happy birthday to me while he done a part of the show. Overall it was so much fun and we all laughed so hard. To finish the evening off they brought out chocolate ice cream and a candle and yet again had everyone sing to me. I highly recommend giving them a try for your next birthday celebration. Can't wait to return for another visit.

Mori is absolutely hilarious and had us laughing the entire evening. She also shared with us her wealth of knowledge and we learned so much about Japanese cuisine and culture. The food we learned to make was delicious - the type of rice and method of preparation really makes a difference in the taste and texture of sushi. We especially liked learning how to make spring rolls with peanut sauce - it was surprisingly easy! This weekend we plan to visit the Japanese mart in Castleton to buy items to make our own sushi at home. Thank you Mori for the guidance and an exciting evening of Japanese cooking!

My 11-year old recently told us he wants to be a chef, so I googled "kids cooking classes…read moreIndianapolis" and Katsumi's was one of the top results. I remember hearing from another Elite Yelper friend how much they enjoyed her class, so I booked a Saturday morning "Intro to Sushi Making" class for my son and I. This is not a cooking class where you watch the teacher and then never make the super-complicated recipes again. Mori had my son do most of the food preparation from slicing veggies and mixing the matcha-glazed cake. Mori taught us about dining etiquette, different grades of rice and nori, and where to find the ingredients used. We also got to eat everything we made - we were very full by the end of class! We have since bought our own Zojirushi rice cooker and have made our own rolls at home. Highly recommend her classes for just a couple, family (kids 6+) or a whole group!

For starters, we was not asked if we wanted to be at the hibachi table, was just seated at a normal table. As this is my first time, I'm pretty sure there was seating not at the grill that we may have opted for with a small child. I got a crunchy roll and the chicken hibachi dinner. The broth was saltier than any broth I've ever had before but good flavor. The ginger dressing on the salad was a little strong as well. The crunchy roll was good but could have had more flavors and crunch. It's one of my favorites I've gotten other places so I feel like in comparison it could have had more of the crunchy topping and flavor/sauces drizzled on top. The hibachi was good too, not many veggies as most hibachi places serve. In fact, mine was mostly onion and slivers of carrots. I got one piece of broccoli. Even the fried rice was just corn and egg added. Maybe I'm wrong but most of the time they have carrots and peas too. It was good but I felt like even the show was less interactive than most. My total was 26 and some change. With tip, $32.
