Was ok. My 2 year ate it so it wasn't terrible. Tuna bowl.

I follow an Indy food influencer that raves about Rolli so I thought I would give it a try. First impression is it looks FUN! Bright, cheery signage. Seems approachable. However, in my experience fun, glitter, lights, nice marketing package is a temporary sheen to cover up mediocre. And that is what Rolli is. Second impression is staff running the ordering seems annoyed to be there. That my questions were annoying. Very blunt answers. I rarely feel that way about people in the service industry. This was not true of the people making the food... they seemed pretty happy to be there. Third - speaking of making the food. Sushi is more than just food. It is an art. A skill. A tradition. Passed down generation after generation. Rolli strips sushi of its beauty by replacing human hands with a machine. A MACHINE TO ROLL AND CUT THE SUSHI.... GOOD LORD MY JAPANESE GRANDMOTHER IS CRYING IN HEAVEN. No really, she would have been appalled. I am giving Rolli three stars because no one in my family came down with food poisoning. Sadly that is always on my mind with raw fish in this city. The food itself was only passable for a way to get nutrients into my body. Husband also felt it was ok. We got a meal in. Would eat elsewhere when returning to the Garage.

When visiting the garage I got a sushi box from Rolli. It was delicious. They offer 2 and 3 roll boxes and all of their rolls are super interesting. Even when you'd expect a traditional roll, like a sweet yam, there is a delicious sauce added to make it a more complex dish. The service was fast and friendly. I didn't love the flavor of my Mango roll, but I think that was an ordering error, I tend to not like a sweet sauce in addition to a fruit in my sushi. This is definitely work checking out and a pretty good price point, at under $20 dollars for a lot of food!

THIS IS NOT SUSHI I go to the Garage often and I was excited to see a sushi stand pop-up (If you don't know already, I'm on the journey to find Indy's best sushi). The ambiance and decor was enough to get me excited for their grand opening. I wasn't able to make the opening so I settled for a weekday visit. The service wasn't bad. There was one person in front of me and the Garage was pretty empty. I ordered two rolls. No drinks. The total was roughly $30. I completely understand $15 sushi rolls, it's pretty standard for restaurants. But let me tell you this was far from a $15 restaurant roll, not even a $15 Kroger roll. First off, the rice didn't taste like sushi rice. It actually tasted more like white sticky rice. In fact, it was so sticky I could not get a single piece off of my plate without it falling apart. Second, the "flavors" were non existent. Yuzu where?! I didn't taste any yuzu - just the overwhelming spice of a Jalapeño. I tried another bite of a (broken) roll without Jalapeño and tasted nothing but spicy mayo with mushy rice. On top of that, the center fish didn't have any taste either (I got a plain roll just to test it). This all might seem a little harsh, but I was extremely let down by this experience. With the ambiance and the hype, I was really hoping Rolli would be one of my new favorites. But that's all this place is - hype and a cute instagrammable box (which I didn't get btw). For $15 a roll, head to Modita across the road or 45 degrees on mass.

First time trying Rolli and I liked the place! I ordered take out for 2 Mango Tango rolls and they were delicious - fresh, sweet and mildly spicy at the same time, and the recipe is quite unique. You get full 8 pieces that aren't not too big or too small, and it's all packaged nicely. They also sell combos for $10 with a free side which is a great deal, not to mention overall reasonable prices for other rolls. Lastly, the staff was very friendly - I'm definitely coming back.

This is my second visit to The Garage and I am still very impressed. Sushi sounded good and Rolli did not disappoint! The combo box was definitely worth it. 2 rolls and a side for around $15

    Mushroom roll

Fast casual sushi place located in the garage food hall. Service was friendly and quick. The roll selection is lacking a bit, there is 1 specialty roll per type of protein- salmon, shrimp tempura, tuna, mushroom etc. they also have some basic rolls such as California. All the rolls seem very trendy Americanized, which is fine but if you're looking for traditional sushi keep walking. Rolls range from $9-13ish depending on what you get. In my opinion this place would be better suited for a lunch crowd downtown. At the garage I want to try a variety of options with friends and try lots of things. Probably wouldn't try a roll here again because I can get this anywhere. With that said, the mushroom roll had an interesting vinaigrette marinade and the spice mixture on top was pretty good.

Spicy Salmon Poke Bowl (it was gross)

Worst poke bowl I've ever had. It just looks gross, let alone smells gross and it tastes even worse. The onions they had in there smelled foul, I took them out (and I love onions). I accidentally got one in a bite and it tasted like it went bad. Also got the spicy tuna simple roll. Took one bite and couldn't even finish that either. Ended up tossing it sadly. I'll probably get food poisoning from this. No comment on service since it's a do it yourself kiosk ...

Tried the Yam Yam Yam and Seoulful Kick today hoping they worked out the kinks but will definitely stick with their sister restaurant in the garage, Puke Guru going forward! The rolls are so bad it would honestly just be better sourcing rolls from Sushi Boss or One World! The rice is mushy, the rolls are oddly shaped and the contents are odd. The yam in the yam roll was grossly undercooked, avocado not ripe. The Fish in the Seoulful kick had no flavor and was overpowered by the jalapeño and mayo. The saving grace for my $25 meal (after tax and tip) was the free seaweed salad! I also found the staff to be very rude, which has never happened to me eating at Poke Guru (which is my favorite joint in the garage).

I have been wanting to try this new addition to the Garage Indy. It was great! It took about 10-15 minutes to be made, but was really good. I had the combo with 2 rolls- the spicy tuna and the sunny in Peru roll. It came with a side and I chose the shrimp tempura which was good. I will say, for what it is, it was pretty pricy for sushi comparative to places in the area. The boxing is super cute, but I also think it seems wasteful for how much packaging it is for just two sushi rolls. I will definitely come back to try other rolls!

    Tickled pink roll

Was intrigued by the store's neon lights, bright colors, and fun decor. An employee took my order with an AirPod in her ear, while another employee (also wearing an AirPod) was sweeping behind her. I could barely hear the employee - maybe take out the AirPod lol? I ordered a tickled pink roll (was not expecting it to literally be drenched in a spicy mysterious pink sauce), which was okay. I don't agree with other reviews that say it's the same level as grocery store sushi - it's elevated and tastes fresher. However, I do agree that the deep fried element of the sushi takes away from the fresh aspect, but I guess they're catering to their customers likings. It was fun to try, but I wouldn't come here again. I would rather go to a higher quality restaurant for a $15 roll with better customer service and food.

This is a great option for a quick meal. The rolls are made with a machine which ensures perfectly made rolls quickly. As the sister restaurant to Poke Guru the Moncha Beverage Co. teas and water are offered here too. I tried the tickled pink roll which was tempura fried. It was extremely filling and served with ample filling and was fresh out the fryer! I also like the packaging a lot. It allows for the meal to be taken on the go with ease. They do offer a build your own roll which can be done online via the QR code provided. And there are more simple roll options as well. There's a good variety. Service was friendly and prompt. They also ask if you want soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger with your sushi. All three were provided in sealed containers to prevent spillage. The soy sauce came with a little dish inside the box to allow you to pour the sauce into. That was much appreciated. The restaurant itself is very appealing to sit by while eating. Love the octopus mascot and bright lighting. Overall very good food. Highly recommend!

    Nice purée !

This is my second time ordering from Rolli. The first time was when they opened and they've made huge improvements on the things people have mentioned here. Their space is very cool looking, packaging is so unique and staff was friendly. This time around I ordered on DoorDash for a work lunch. They've nailed their rice ratio and the way they prep it. The first time had too much rice and it was like one continuous rice sheet. Now it's soft fluffy rice where you can almost see every piece of rice. Huge improvement. They have also changed from the avocado purée (which I was not a fan of) to using whole avocado which is so very welcomed. It changed the flavor and texture of my favorite roll, the Mango Tango in a very good way. It seems like they've taken the somewhat harsh reviews they received when they first started to heart and made some changes. I would definitely recommend Rolli!

    Sweet Yam roll

A great food pick inside of the Garage Food Hall! For anyone craving sushi Rolli is a good option for a nice quick meal! The staff was very friendly and willing to answer my questions about the different rolls. The menu has a wide variety of options to satisfy you sweet or spicy, simple staple to adventurous cravings. I was craving something sweet and crunchy so I got the sweet yam roll! It came with 8 pieces and was similar to a sweet potato roll (one of my personal favorites) but a little more sweet. If you're looking for something simple or vegetarian this might be the roll for you, but I was looking for a little more flavor so I will likely go for their upgraded version next time - the yum yum yam roll with avocado and pickled beets which is very popular according to staff! Lastly, since this place is located in the Garage, there are many seating options and the occasional live music!

The fish was so fresh, and you could genuinely taste the nori, which makes a huge difference. We branched out and tried the Kumamoto oysters too. Worth it. They're tinier than your typical oyster and came with a range of flavors from the seasonings and sauces. Honestly, we wish they'd been served more simply because we wanted to compare them to the ones we've had in Japan, and all the sauce made that tough. Still a fun order though. Skip the Seafood Pot, in our opinion. It tasted like Bird's Nest to us and just wasn't anything special compared to everything else. Bottom line: come for the sushi. It's the standout, and it's what'll bring us back. With ramen, hibachi, bubble tea, and a full bar also on the menu, there's plenty to explore on a return visit.

I happened to visit on a warmer day so I was able to see the space with the garage door open. It was golden hour and it had everything all lit up. Very beautiful. Our service was amazing, couldn't have asked for a better server. I can't remember her name but she was so detailed in her descriptions, thoughtful with her suggestions, and had the perfect amount of attentiveness. Now on to the fun parts.... Drinks were a hit! We told our server what we like and they recommended a couple options. I again can't remember the exact name of the drink but mine was a gin cocktail. I'll attach some photos for you. As for the food, every bite I took was delicious. Our table shared the fried brussel sprouts and the ginger miso salad. A very lovely way to ease into our meal on a lighter note. They split up the salad onto two plates for us, which was sweet of them. The portion was pretty good for a $12 salad. Very refreshing. Brussel sprouts were absolutely fire. Get them! Along with that, I also ordered the tempura shrimp maki roll. Inside the roll was cucumber and avocado with giant tempura shrimp right on top, drizzled in spicy mayo. The presentation was cool, a slightly deconstructed version of what I would get somewhere else. There wasn't a single bite left on the plate. I would order all three of these dishes again in a heartbeat. Perfect for a date night or special occasion, but also works for just grabbing a bite with friends. Whenever I find myself back in Indy, Modita will be on my list.

We had a reservation at 6:45, and were sat shortly after that time. The place was busy for a Friday night, and was somewhat loud. Our waitress greeted us quickly, and was on top of things throughout the night. I started off with a ginger miso salad, based on recommendations on this page. Personally, I could have went without the $12 salad. I would have paid more like $6 for the amount of actual salad I got. The dressing was good, but nothing extraordinary. I did ask for no cucumbers- I could taste a faint taste of cucumbers on the salad, so think they just took them off after they were already placed. We split some Bao Buns. These were the highlight of the show. The pork on them was thick, the slaw was fresh, and the bao bun itself was fluffy. We split two dishes for dinner- the short rib and the chicken udon noodles. The chicken udon noodles were fantastic- packed full of flavor and tons of toppings in it. The short rib fell a little short of my expectations, but I had high expectations to begin with. We have had the short rib multiple times in the past- and normally it is a hunk of meat, similar to a roast. Now, it is strips of tiny pieces of meat with a bone attached to it. If the owner/general manager is reading this- GO BACK TO THE ROAST STYLE- the strips of meat was too much work to eat. Still packed full of great flavor though. I had the bridge to Anshun for my drink. I had never had Baiju before, but glad I tried it. It was a tangy drink that was also sweet- would say it's a must try. Overall, some changes since our last visit that weren't expected, but overall had a great evening here. Can't wait to return.

Both of us landed on 1/5. Here's what we ordered: the Mega Bowl Ramen (Chashu & Shrimp) combo with Thai Tea and a Pork Bun, the Fried Squid Tentacle, and the Pork Belly Kamameshi. The ramen was salty and just didn't taste good, which was a real letdown given the crowd. The noodles came out firmer than what we're used to at places in Texas and Japan, and the chashu was the single best part of the whole bowl. The Thai Tea was a complete miss--it looked good but was overwhelmingly milky, like 85% milk, which isn't what Thai tea typically tastes like. The Pork Bun was drowning in sauce and overwhelming to eat. The Fried Squid Tentacle was the highlight of the meal, though it's comparable to what you'd find elsewhere. The Pork Belly Kamameshi was the worst item by far with a tiny amount of rice with a huge amount of sauce piled on top. We got through only about a fifth of the pan because it was too intense and far too little rice. To be fair, this spot gets a lot of love online for its broth and its novelty robot server (can be found in a lot of Japanese restaurants) so tastes clearly vary. But for the two of us, the meal was salty, oversauced, and unbalanced, and we wouldn't come back. 1/5.

All of my loved ones were there to celebrate my birthday, and paired with such amazing food it made it a magical night. It was a Tuesday night and was fairly busy, but we passed any downtime chatting with each other and sipping on cocktails. The owner, Nara, is SO kind, sweet, gracious, I could go on and on. You can tell she really loves her job and running a business. The staff were so attentive for such a large party and made sure we always had fresh cocktails, water refills, and empty plates were removed promptly. We had vegetarians, peanut allergies, and picky eaters, but they accommodated everyone. I think my husband and I ended up splitting 5 sushi rolls total (still dreaming of them) and the table pretty much split multiple appetizers across the board. Everyone loved their cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. When I thanked Nara for such an amazing dinner and let her know it was my first time dining there and that it was my birthday she brought out a round of lychee sake shots for the table and started playing a happy birthday song throughout the restaurant. Literally almost cried because it was so sweet and thoughtful. The sake was crazy delicious and a hit for the whole table. The only *minor* downside was that each cocktail was made individually by what seemed to be just one bartender, so it took some time for drinks to come out. Again, otherwise a perfect meal, but keep that in mind and be patient for drinks to come out! My husband and I's favorite sushi haunt has always been Mori Sushi before now, but now I cannot wait to come back to Hasuno for more amazing appetizers and sushi rolls!!! Next is the quality of the food, which IMO, justifies the price. "Less is more" is so important when it comes to sushi rice. I love being able to get sushi and not feel so full because the minimally necessary amount of rice was used and doesn't leave you full after one roll. All of the special rolls we liked in the following order. 1) Bonfire 2) Orange Blossom 3) Cherry Blossom 4) Trish 5) Emperor 6)Thursday The miso soup was perfect and priced at $3. The drinks and gyoza were good too, but not too special. I would definitely save my appetizer/beverage $ for the rolls. We ordered smoked salmon, hamachi, and scallop sashimi. Scallop was our favorite for the sashimi, but all were amazing. The star (and priciest) of our dinner we did not capture, but it was the Maduro Nigiri. The quality was very good and fatty, I thought it tasted like Hara-naka. Service was great. No wait. 10 out of 10 recommend.
