Saw the low reviews but thought we'd give it a try anyways since it's so close to our hotel. No one at the desk when you walk in, and no "seat yourself" sign. So we wandered to the back dining area where we asked a server to seat us. They had an all you can eat sushi special for 24.99 so we were STOKED. Unfortunately we only got 1/4 of what we ordered. After taking our drink order, it was 20-25 min between visits from our server... WE WERE THE ONLY TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT. We finally got appetizers, then rolls were delivered randomly and ones we ordered never arrived. Finally after a 2+hr experience (thanks to good company) we decided to leave. It seemed like their tactic to the "all you can eat" is to serve you as slow as possible so you will leave No photos but we got miso soup, seaweed salad, and corn nuggets. Rainbow roll, Miami roll, and dragon roll. Would have loved to try others but they never made it to our table. This is one of those reviews where I think if they could get some help, they could quickly raise their rating. The food I had was quite tasty, but when the sushi chef is having to wait tables as well as make the food, it is too much to have high expectations. I decided to give this place (along the SR 267 corridor that crosses over I-70 as the first exit to Plainfield) a try. I pulled in for lunch in front of the restaurant and noticed a "help wanted" sign, which I've learned should immediately lower your expectations. Fortunately, most places seem to manage in the short run. When I entered the lobby, a sign directed me to the main dining area by the bar. I saw a couple of folks dining but they may have been employees since they ended up going back to the kitchen area and exiting a side door. Anyway, one of them let the waiter/chef know I was there. He was soft spoken and I wasn't sure if I heard much of what he said the entire meal. I grabbed a menu off a table since I had decided to sit at the sushi bar. He brought my water and I ordered a bowl of veggie Tom Yum soup to start. Later, I ordered a 2pc Nigiri Sake (salmon) and an Eel Avocado roll. The chef (before I knew he was the chef) began working on some "to go" order before bringing out my soup. When the soup, which was full of flavor, but not spicy hot like I've had elsewhere, arrived without a napkin for me. I mentioned it and I was given the chopsticks, napkin, and a dish for soy sauce. The soup was good and piping hot but the shape of the spoon made it hard to get the vegetables, especially the broccoli over the lip of the spoon. Before I finished the soup, the chef had finished the other order and brought out my entrees on a plate. Everything looked and tasted really good too! However, I had to ask for the soy sauce since he had forgotten to bring it as well. See the pattern? Again, I enjoyed the food and when I was finished, I was quickly able to check out. Note that I was the only dine in customer at the time. What must it be like if a large group or several tables of customers had arrived? I was visiting Indianapolis and staying near the airport. This gem of a place was walking distance from my hotel. The outside doesn't look like much, but inside is very nice. Everything was very clean. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive. And the Sushi... very good! The place looked deserted but a friendly face quickly showed up and assured us it was open. She seated us in a booth and quickly gave us menus. We ordered sushi and Hibachi chicken. The service was excellent and the food came quickly. We ordered miso soup on the side .The food was delicious and well presented. The salad was the typical lettuce with ginger dressing. I get Narita on DoorDash frequently. Their sushi and mochi is INCREDIBLE. I get the pretty standard rolls (spicy crab & California) and I'm always impressed with the fresh ingredients. Rolls are well assembled, aesthetically pleasing, and of course very tasty. You can tell the person who puts them together is good at their job and cares about presentation & quality. I always ask for extra ginger & extra wasabi and they always deliver, which I really appreciate. Their fried rice is very good, too. Sometimes my order is messed up- missing roll, incorrect item, etc- but that's alright. Places get busy, and I understand. Im able to overlook it because their food is so delicious. Occasionally they'll send me a soup or salad I didn't order, but always end up really enjoying! It's nice to get a bonus food item from time to time. Their ginger salad dressing is AMAZING. Don't pass up the tempura ice cream and mochi. Both are so, so very good. Highly recommend. I love Narita! read more

Dining area was kinda gloomy- not well lit, probably on purpose but it felt weird to me. Only one table was occupied when I was there. The server was friendly, tried to help us pick what to order but couldn't answer some of the questions we had about their menu. He even said he has language barrier with the sushi chefs there. We ordered an assortment of rolls & nigiri. The sushi was lackluster & some just tasted odd/off. The tuna nigiri tasted like bleach. The smoked salmon on the Philly Inside Out roll tasted like it might be borderline spoiled. Of the other rolls we ordered, I've had fresher tasting sushi from a college cafeteria... We won't be back. I would not recommend this place if you are staying in the area for business. It's the carelessness of quality and concern where I feel disrespected as a customer. My face and palms were extremely red after ingesting this food. I never experienced a spike in blood pressure from food ever and this shit wasn't even deep fried in lard nor have any pork products in it. Work travel has me all over the country, so I use UberEats often. On this occasion, I ordered dinner on UberEats...while I was hungry, from this establishment. The app gave me a time of 25-30 minutes for delivery so I waited. About 35 minutes later the very nice driver called me to let me know it would be another 15 minutes and order was not ready. Well, 15 came and went. Another 15 came and went...and almost another when my food was finally ready. Approximately one hour from the original estimated time of arrival my order arrived. I feel bad for the UberEats driver that had to wait on my order, passing on other rides and orders. I also feel bad for anyone who eats at this restaurant. The food smelled like fish and not in a good way. The chicken was tough and rubbery. The soup tasted old. Ultimately, I tried a few bites and threw my entire meal away.
