Good quality, especially good salmon, amazing that sashimi is included without a surcharge, loads of roll choices, somewhat more limited selection of nigiri than you would find in Los Angeles but covers the basics including unagi and saba. Our server's English was limited but very pleasant. The place was nearly full when we arrived on Friday about 8pm and then opened up a bit by 9pm. Clean and not too noisy. read more

It was Valentine's Day and we were not in the mood to get all dressed up fancy for a romantic dinner. So instead we threw around the idea of sushi and we didn't have to drive far to have all-you-can-eat! This used to be a great place when it opened years ago! We were a little more stout back in the day and the all you can eat was a winning deal for us! The wife of the couple who owned the restaurant then, used to give my husband the evil eye when we walked in. I think they operated on a deficit on our bill many times back then! I think the owners have changed since. And we changed as well dropping a few pounds. But do you think his sushi appetite changed?? NO! We thought it was a great choice to go there, since we walked in with no reservation, it wasn't crowded at all, and we were seated promptly. We were pretty pleased with our decision. We thoughtfully selected our first pieces of sushi--a mix of sashimi, rolls, soup along with wine and hot sake--a must in my book! If you have ever been here, you would know they have a rule that you can't leave anything more than 7 pieces of sushi on your plate--they charge you for it!! So we were careful to only order what we could eat. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first order, which was fine. We weren't in a rush. People were beginning to arrive and slowly tables were getting filled. There was only one woman, which was the owner waiting tables. When the food finally arrived, we ate. I had been excited to have the raw salmon, which is usually mild in flavor and sweet. I was a bit disappointed when it lacked any flavor at all. I mean it wasn't awful. But I had better sushi at Fresh Thyme. After we inhaled the first plate, our server never brought the menu back so we could order more. It took another 10-15 minutes for her to return. When she finally did, we marked more goodies, still erring on the edge of caution not to get too much. It took another 10 minutes for her to swing by to pick it up. By then it was blatantly obvious she avoided our table. I think she was hoping we would leave. But at $27 a head--we weren't doing it. The restaurant was full, she was the lone wait staff. People sat for a long time 1/2-1hr waiting to be served. Some helped themselves getting their own plates and silverware, some got mad and left. She was completely overwhelmed as food was slowly prepared. We heard her yell at the itamae ( sushi chef) a couple of times. Then a group of no less than 10 men came in the door and she turned them away. When we finally reached satisfaction with the meal, we went to the counter to pay. She apologized for not waiting on us properly. She said they barely did any business on Valentines Day the previous year. We tipped her well and left. We felt it was ok food, not great. Just found this in my drafts and this was a few months ago- We've been to the Fisher's location several times so thought we knew what to expect. We aren't sure if they are owned by the same people but expected a similar experience. We arrived at this location just shortly after lunch time on a Thursday. There were a couple of cars in the parking lot or we probably wouldn't have stayed. It is obviously an old Pizza Hut facility that has been repainted but looks in need of repair. There were only two other table occupied when we went in and we were seated quickly. The hostess it turns out was also the waitress. She asked if we would be doing "all you can eat" which we responded with a yes to and to expedite things we put our first order in promptly. Drinks were brought to our table relatively quickly. Sodas are in cans and you are given a glass with ice chunks (I say chunks because there were about 2 very large pieces in each glass). We waited then for about 35 mins and we became antsy. The table beside us hadn't really seen any attention since we had entered and the table the other direction from us eventually had a few items brought to them, my husband got his miso soup and the then the table the other direction from us got a few more and then something else. Eventually we decided 40-45 mins was too long to wait for food and we should just pay for our drinks and leave. The waitress/hostess told my husband she would check with the back and said "3 minutes". Then my salad came out and we waited a little longer, then some crab rangoons. Finally a couple of rolls of sushi came out. We promptly put in an order for a couple more items expecting each refill to take forever. Luckily the additional food was a little more timely once the other tables left. It seemed as though the cook was taking care of all of one tables needs at a time before doing anything for the next table. If the table next to us had gotten another round I'm pretty sure we would have waited even longer for our first plate. Apparently this location was either incredibly short staffed or it seemed they wanted one table to be completely finished ordering before they started with the next table. The food was good and much like what we had at the other location. We did eventually get our fill but I'm not sure we will visit this location again just due to the time it took to get service. read more

Came here with my dad and his wife after a football game. The outside appearance is atrocious and almost made us leave without even stepping foot inside. But trying to not judge a book by the cover, we headed inside. They weren't very busy when we got in - maybe 1-2 other tables. Our server was also the hostess. Explained all you can eat vs the menu. We decided to give it a chance. Dad and his wife did all you can eat, and I just got 2 rolls. Their apps they ordered as part of all you can eat came out quickly enough. But all of our sushi took forever. More customers came in, so the place was maybe about half full, and they were doing some takeout as well. But it took so long. When everything finally did arrive, it was fine. Nothing amazing but it was good. I was bummed there was no gluten free soy sauce but hey, that's a me problem. They have a lot of strict rules around the all you can eat, no doubt because people have tried to scam the system before. But all the rules can be a little off-putting. In the end it was fine. We opted for the all you can eat option for $26.99 per person. This includes soup, salads, crab ragoon, speciality rolls, etc. food was delicious. Best place I have found on the west side. The inside was hot and stuffy, but food tasted fresh. Miso soup was incredible. Ginger dressing on the salad incredible. One working bathroom that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a while, not so much. But I digress focus on the food. Initially we were the only ones in the restaurant. Family of 6 adults came here for dinner last night. Place looks filthy inside and out, but we were told by friends to ignore the appearance. Food was ok, average at best. I love miso soup but I couldn't finish mine, had a definite wang to it. Rolls were ok when they finally arrived but nothing was exceptional. Service was atrocious. One server with no warmth at all taking care of almost 20 parties. Overall it took over 3 1/2 hours! It was well over an hour to get our appetizer, soup, and salad. After the entire 3 1/2 hours we were only able to get 2 plates of sushi. Ridiculous. But by far the worst thing was that there were no comments from the server, no apologies, no assurance that food was coming, no explanations about why it was taking so long. As if this was perfectly normal. When it came time to pay the bill, my brother-in-law asked for some compensation since it was supposed to be "all you can eat" and in 3 1/2 hours we could have eaten quite a bit more that 2 plates! The server looked shocked and laughed out loud saying "No!". As if this was perfectly normal. So yeah, we won't be going back. They should change their name to "4 hr Sushi" lol. read more

I thought I had reviewed this I can't believe I didn't . Ok let's start at the beginning . We were greeted and seated promptly. No one was at the counter but in less than a minute we were noticed and taken care of . The way this place works is you are given a piece of paper on which you mark off your order which is then prepared fresh . My favorite type of all you can eat sushi which loses its freshness quickly . Well in other places like this they give you one sheet so if you want to reorder you need to ask for another sheet . Here they give you three making the whole process quicker . We order on separate sheets and rarely need another ( my husband is deathly allergic to shell fish) that's another plus they are so clean he's never had a reaction even when I order shrimp or crab . I wish I could say that about all restaurants . Now to the food . Yum. I always get the Kani salad which is now my favorite food on the planet . My husband always gets the pepper tuna app which is very good but no kani salad . I love sashimi but I can't eat 7 pieces and I really prefer just the tuna and salmon .here I can get just what I want without having to eat more than I want or need . That another plus for me I like little portions so I can have a bit of this a bit of that and the portions are small . However of course you can order as many as you want and the special rolls aren't small at all . I suggest you start small , I've seen people order so much that I know they aren't ever going to get through it all . The menu says they will charge you a dollar a piece for what you leave I have no idea if they do . They are definitely paying attention to the past negative reviews and trying to make a difference. the staff was friendly and very attentive (greetings at the door, made recommendations, filled and refilled water cups, even offered the kids ice cream). The wait time for food items was no more than 20 to 30 minutes and the taste of the food excellent, the only drawback was a miscommunication on the food order. You can choose to order individual rolls/soups/salads/entrees off the regular menu, or do the unlimited menu that allows you to pay $20, then eat "until you're happy." There's no buffet, just an unlimited amount of rolls. The one catch? If you over-order and can't eat everything you got, you'll be charged about 50 cents per roll you don't finish (probably a good business practice so food isn't wasted or people aren't stocking up to-go boxes). Feeling less-than-ambitious, we ordered a handful of rolls off the regular menu. I chose the California roll and shrimp avocado roll, while my friend chose the spicy crab roll and 10th Street roll (one of their specialty rolls with smoked salmon). All of them appeared to be fresh and it was a nice presentation. The specialty rolls are more expensive, but also were much larger and more elaborate. You also have the option to add cream cheese or avocado to any of your rolls for an extra cost. Our server was super speedy and we could've ordered, eaten, paid and left in thirty minutes if we'd wanted to. The atmosphere was a little dismal, but the service and food felt authentic. The sushi is good; it's just not great. There is a lot of variety, especially in the rolls. They have both normal rolls and 'candy' rolls. The novelty is getting all you care to eat for $20. The service can be slow since it is all made to order. When my party was there, salmon, smoked salmon, octopus, crab and spicy crab were hits. The tuna (flavorless), white tuna and yellow tail (both tasted of the sea) not so much. We ordered eel from the menu twice and it never made it on the plate with no explanation. I don't remember all of the rolls we ordered, but one with soft shell crab near the bottom of the menu was very good and one with salmon and avocado on the outside was very good too. They don't have any gyozas, dumplings, or teriyaki on the menu (which sucks for kids especially) and they were out of egg rolls. There was a fly in my daughters soup to start, but our food came out quickly. But we decided to indulge in the all you can eat so we wanted to order more but the menus were taken away so we waited about 15 minutes for them to come back then it took 30 minutes waiting on two simple rolls. We tried to go ask the lady at the front and she picked up her phone and walked away. The interior & exterior is underwhelming as others have stated. Went here for lunch and it was ok. My boss treated me to all you can eat sushi. The place looks sketchy and the environment was a bit dated but overall the food was decent if you just had a taste for some rolls. What I can't get over is that if you have any food left over they charge you for it. I can understand having a standard with the all you can eat menu. We had 7 pieces of our sushi roll left and they were going to charge us $2 a piece ($14) to take it home. Totally a waste of food. I added their policy to my pics. They seem to have a nice lunch crowd. I noticed a few people getting take out and sitting down for lunch. Parking was good but I'm not sure about the bathrooms. The rolls did take a long time to come out but I had good company so that was overlooked. This place is a neighborhood type, family friendly dive. A little sketchy-looking for a restaurant where you will be eating raw fish but if you soldier on you will be rewarded! My personal favorites were the tuna sashimi (a few tough parts with suji, but the flavor was good), yellowtail, spider roll, and unagi. Only unanimous thumbs down was (I think) the gooey mango sauce that two of our rolls came absolutely drenched in. I can only guess it was mango sauce because that's an actual item description on the menu, but it tasted a bit like bell peppers? No bueno. Would recommend avoiding any rolls with that. Service was a little slow as mentioned in prior reviews, so keep that in mind when you're planning your second round of orders. I'm a big fan of sushi, so when I heard there was a place on the west side offering a wide variety of sushi - ALL YOU CAN EAT - I was there. The decor isn't much, like the other reviews mentioned. I arrived around 6:30 in the evening and didn't have a wait; however, by the time I was done, people were waiting for a table to open up. The draw to this place has to be the all you can eat sushi. For about $23, you get to choose between three pages of soups, salads, rolls, and various pieces of fish. If you know you like sushi, this is a great way to have your favorites but venture out and try something new too. It should be noted that if you aren't in an "all you can eat" mood, Sushi Club also offers a regular menu with the all you can eat selections on it, plus more. My dinner companion did this and was very happy with her roll. I went with the salmon and tuna - two of my favorites - and also tried two of the 8-piece rolls and two of the 4-piece rolls along with the miso soup. The soup came out very quickly, as did my green tea (and the refills were prompt, although not as hot as I would have liked). The soup was the perfect temperature and flavor. After the soup, there was a bit of a wait while the chefs prepared our meal. Even though there were a number of chefs preparing the entrees, the delay was noticeable. When our food came out, it looked wonderful, and the delay was all but a distant memory. I'm a very finicky sushi eater, but this tasted great. The tuna and salmon were fresh, the rolls were nice and tight, and there wasn't a piece of sushi left, which was a good thing. According to the menu, you can order as much as you like, but if you leave 7 or more pieces, you're going to pay $1 per piece for wasting it. I'll definitely be back to try several things that sounded great, like the Broadway and Colt roll very soon. I'll also make sure that I bring someone new to experience this hidden gem! read more
