Getting worst. I liked this place before but now I will never set my foot there again. Food serving time is very random. On the same table one gets order after another is done eating his meal. Also, side dish that I ordered I got after I finished with my main course of meal. I couldn't eat grilled vegetables because it was full of grit. Probably, they didn't wash it at all. I had to ask waiter to take it off the table. Some of ordered food never made their way to the table even I paid my bill already, but waiter did not forget to bill me for it. I have been going to this place for years. I remember when they first opened and were a third of their current size. The food was always great. However I strongly feel this restaurant and its management, or lack thereof, has forgotten its humble beginnings. My wife and I decided to order in the other night, made our order at 6pm and were told 45 mins for delivery. At 7pm, we called to check in the person who answered said they were very busy and our food had just left and would be there in 10 mins. Our food arrived at 745pm, everything cold and tasteless. If you know uzbek food, it usually tastes disgusting if you reheat it. Nothing worse than a soggy samsa out of the microwave. The potatoes with mushrooms were inedible. Nothing tasted fresh. We decided to call the restaurant to inform them how displeased we were. We were transferred to the manager .. do not remember his name..who was working Saturday night Halloween who answers the phone "S prasnikom", and then begins to belittle us and tells us we are lying to him and we dont know how food delivery works and explained that 45 mins actually means that's how long it takes for the food to cook and that doesnt include delivery time. And then begins to try to lecture me and that I was wrong. No apologies, no empathy, no remorse. A typical sleezy Russian "manager" who has no business being in position. Who has no idea what running a restaurant really means. And because of people like him businesses like this shutter their doors and everyone loses their job. I know this is just one take out experience, but we have been there 3 times over the last 6 months and the food and service levels have dropped each time we went there. My 2016 predicition, this place won't be there by the end of the year. I feel bad for anyone who has to work for this place. Read the 1 star reviews on this place, all accurate. Ok, so it's not enough to have great food in order to be considered a good restaurant. The service has to be good as well. The hostess is totally oblivious, disorganized and unprofessional. I had some friends visiting and called to make a reservation. The hostess told me to just come in and there would be a 15-20 minute wait. So I dragged my friends to Nargis and once we got there, the same hostess told us it would be an hour and a half wait! I told her that I just called and spoke to her and she said to come in, and she was just "stone faced". I mean come on! Be honest about the wait and at least be more organized, maybe even a little apologetic. t's all about customer service folks! read more

A little while back they were smaller, but now they extended and remodeled the place. I actually like the new remodeled Nargis better. The food is great, the coctails are ok. Overall a decent place, especially if you are coming with a group and don't want to spend too much money. read more

My dining experience at Nargis Cafe can only be described as "ok". I have been to this restaurant in the past, it is not as good as I remember it to be. Me and a few co workers have stopped by for a late lunch, and truth be told, I was not impressed. The meat did not taste fresh. We ordered a basic meat platter and a few different varieties of shish kebab with different meats, rice, vegetables, and as I was eating, I am thinking to myself, "this meat tastes as if it was left in the freezer for a month". Some of the meat was even undercooked, we had to ask the staff to take the dish back and re-cook it. This was not the best of Nargis Cafe. However, I did thoroughly enjoy their Manti and their Tashkent Salad, and the service quality was excellent. To all my other diners out there, Bon appétit! read more

We called them at around 3:30 asking where our food is because they hadn't delivered it yet, and they told us that it was on the way. A few minutes later they called to say that the food is not on the way and that they forgot to start making our food. So I asked for a discount. This was the perfect place for a party of Russians and their Chinese inlaws. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Can't say I'm an expert in this cuisine, but many of the items were reminiscent of homecooked Chinese food.... and from what our Russian inlaws said, the food was also reminiscent of homecooked Russian food. I am Chinese and my Russian friends brought me here last night and I was excited to try the food. This food is similar to the northern Chinese region food of Xinjiang and I guess I should not be shocked as regionally Uzbek and that area are close in proximity, onto the food...unfort I didn't get the names of all the dishes but the bread, hummos, dumplings, the pastry with meet, the kabobs, salads left me leaving that place on cloud 9. I never eaten at the place itself and usually just order the food for delivery. If you tell them you want the food delivered at a specific time- they will do. At work we usually order from them and for $250 you can get food for about 15 employees. The food is not too expensive which is a plus. Food itself is pretty decent. My favorite is the salmon and the green salads. The chicken kebab is not bad , but is not the best I have had. I came here for dinner for the first time after a few friends had raved about this place, it definitely did not disappoint. I had the chicken and lamb kebabs, both juicy and flavorful. The bread was fresh and delicious, the salads were dressed well very flavorful and they put a mountain of a delicious cheese on top. ( highly recommend that) the French fries are also really good. The service was friendly and the food came out fast. The only reason I could not give this place 5 stars is because it so crammed and packed. I love this place. It was recently my friends birthday and we gathered up in this place to celebrate it. When I walked in I was automatically greeted by some lady with blonde hair. I told her I was here for a birthday party and she directed me toward the table. While walking toward the table I noticed that the place is completely packed! It made me think that they must be doing something right to attract all these customers. After looking at the menu I decided to order la gman which is a soup of theirs. We also ended up getting some fries with mante and shiskabobs. Our waiter was kind and brought up some friendly jokes that made us laugh. The outcome was better than I expected. The soup had this spicy taste to it which made my taste buds want some more! :D The mante were incredible as well. They didn't fall apart like other places I went to before. They were quiet firm. It was incredible! The shiskabobs had to be my favorite. The taste was just mind blowing. You can feel the juice come out of the meat when you bite into it. Really was a 4 through the first half of the evening, but then it went downhill a bit. The food is not bad and everything was more or less ok. Kebabs are ok but not better than some of the other places. Soups and salads were pretty good, they do have kim chi for thise who like it. The service started out fine, but then the service just went to the crapper. Maybe cause it was late, but they started taking plates of food away without asking if we're done with them. Some appetizers with food on them that we were eating and planning to finish very quickly disappeared before we even got a chance to say something. Waiters became scarce and hard to get someone. Took forever to order a coffee and when it finally came, it was just dropped off on the table, without milk, cream, sugar, a spoon, anything. And he sropped it off on the fly, without even stopping. Again not only did he not bring what it should come with, or at least stop and ask if we needed it, but didnt even give us a chance to ask ourselves. Apparently everyone drinks their not so great coffee black. Had to wait forever and ask 3 different people for milk before one finally braught some. What was a 4 star experience very quickly became frustrating and more sour. Wouldn't say stay away or anything like that, and will perhaps give it a chance again, but just cant honestly say it deserved more stars. Some people i know do like and recommend it, so perhaps it was just this experience. read more

Very Delicious food !! Today's special Korean style fish was to die for. Chicken kabab with bone having smoky woody favors was awesome. Avocado Salad, pumpkin samsa and naan, just out world. I would recommend two things though to owner. Include small bottle of hot sauce on table as the sauce and vinegar they provide for skewers kabab is not spicy at all if they want to attract more and more south Asian audience. Secondly, specify what meat is used under each dish in menu as being Hindu none would like to have Samsa with beef in it !! Definitely would comeback when next time I'm in that area. read more
