The best restaurant in brooklyn... You can make parties for up to 100 people... They have rich menu... You definitely should try Manty, Samsa, Plov, Kazy and Lagman... Also Shish kebabs are deliciuos. Prices are ok... Overall; If you want a real Uzbek food, you should visit this place..

Great Decor and layout of the restaurant. The place is well kept. As competitors to Nargis and referred by a few clients who said I MUST try it, it was good food! With improvements needed in making sure the flavors are different and not copied, it holds to it own standards. However I must say the first time I came I was denied as there was a party scheduled & they refused to serve walk-ins that day. This second time I went I was able to go in and sit down. Due to the catering options not going on during my 2nd visit. The place was nearly empty. The food came out promptly, the service was standard with limited English language. Not enough welcoming vibes. Lead to my final conclusion, if nargis is booked or when they can't serve parties, come here for little different and unique food with a more well decorated place, for bigger events!

The place is small, with a primitive interior, cheap utensils, and paper plates. It has a food smell that soaks into clothes if you choose to dine in. IMO, Tandir Rokhat should be considered as a takeout only. The food left mixed impressions with some dishes being excellent but others - far from so. Overall, I may recommend Tandir Rokhat as a takeout place for excellent tandir samsa, manti, baklava, and perhaps lulya kebab. Food ordered Samsa Tandoori - delicious! Tasted great and fresh, plenty of meat and flavor. Belyash - it was pretty good. I wish it was made right on order rather than reheated but it was still good. Manti - excellent! Juicy, thin dough, flavor tasty filling. These are huge! Pumpkin Samsa - pass on this. Under salted and lacking flavor. Lulya Kebab with Potatoes - very good, flavorful, but somewhat over salted. Side of roasted potatoes with caramelized onions was excellent. Chicken Kebab - tasteless :( Pass on this. Kimchi Salad - ok Carrot Salad (morkovcha) - too much vinegar and too little flavor. Eggplant Salad - ok. This just a mix of roasted eggplants with the "carrot salad" + few roasted peppers. Baklava - perfect! Fresh, soft, how it should be! Fatir with Butter - good!

I came back on day 2 to try the beef items The beef lavash is same flavors just beef but wrapped in a nice thin wrap. Flavors were on point again and I love the thin bread Finally, the beef doner platter. I wasn't as excited about this one because all the sauce was separate. Then we got some salads. One of them was a chicken salad and the chicken was really good and the dressing was also really nice prepared really well together and we also got a Greek salad which was just a classic standard salad. They also have avocado bruschetta which was also really good. The avocado was nice and ripe. We also got samsa and it was really good. The dough was nice and flaky and crispy and on the inside the meat was really nice and juicy. It was my favorite, but it was definitely still good. For the main, we got a huge mixed grill platter that came with a bunch of different meats like chicken, shish kebab and lamb kebab and it was so good. The meat was really nice and juicy and flavorful and it was cooked really well and all of this also came with a side of chips which were a great pairing and a little bit of a different twist compared to regular french fries. The kompot was great it was nice and sweet and flavorful. The service was nice the waiters were really attentive. The ambiance was just a classic Russian/uzbek restaurant. Waiter was rude and never apologized for the delay and the raw burnt over priced food. Then there was a loud argument because the delivery guy was waiting about 30 minutes after being told that it'll be ready in 5 minutes. No respect for someone's time and job. I hate when people are trying to do their jobs and someone sabotages them. Apparently it's not the 1st time. And hungry people at home are also getting bad service and long wait. Overall, it put stress on everyone. Ruined many people's evening. I regret not leaving earlier and gone somewhere else. I feel like they were giving good service and respect to their countrymen in the restaurant, but not to people of other nationalities and races. Do they deliberately sabotage food and timing because they don't want us to return?! Are they deliberately delaying the delivery orders to get delivery guy to lose his job? It' seems to be happening a lot from the Uzbek halal restaurants. Too much of a coincidence. Will not recommend them to anyone. I wonder if the owner cares about losses in revenues or he's a bigot. Very disappointing.

We asked for a cup of hot water with lemon before we begin, which we always do, the water never brought it and several slices of lemon came much later, when it was no longer needed, but we were charged $3.99 for it!! Now, about the food - my favorite Uzbek soup, Lagman, didn't taste even close to what I know it should be. Rice Pilaf was too dry and so was their brand-salad "Anor" and even French fries we had to order/pay $10 extra were not cut uniformly. So, out of 9 entries, the only two edible were lamb and beef skirt Shish Kabobs. Well, deep fried eggplants were OK too, that is if you like greasy food... The $146 bill included tax, 3% credit card surcharge and 12% tip, so even if the service is lousy you have to pay for it - keep that in mind. Needless to say, we won't be coming back and you can thank me for saving you a trip - there are plenty of much better places.

All salads put out on the table as well as the kebabs were delicious! One key factor here is their layout. Decor is fine, nothing amazing but the fact that they have about 10 rooms at least that can be used for private parties of various sizes. That is purely awesome! Each room and each table has a button to summon a person if you are in need of assistance. Something I have never seen before. Having attended as part of a party I can't speak on individual dishes and value as not entirely sure of what was what but everything was something I would come back and eat again without hesitation. Another factor that stood out is their tableware. Not the generic plastic cups and plates. Cups were like crystal or glass, very nice design. Each plate was also ornamental with a golden design. Not generic white plates. Made the place seem more up scale. Do give it a try!

Service is inattentive, and needs a lot of improvement. One of our dishes never arrived and seemed to disappear entirely. I had to ask for the check three separate times before it finally came. It never felt that the anyone cared if we were enjoying ourselves. On top of that, the bill included both sales tax and an additional "fee" totaling 11.875%, with no explanation of what that fee was for. Bathroom had no paper towels to dry your hands. The food itself was passable, but unfortunately the service and overall experience overshadowed any positives. With a few basic fixes, this place could be much better--but as it stands, I wouldn't rush back when amazing alternatives like Samarkand Nights in mill basin exist.

After walking out of a very bad experience at imereti Georgian cafe down the street (see separate review) I found this place. Boy, am I glad I did. I was seated in the front. The restaurant was gorgeous. ! I could hear a beautiful voice singing, Eastern European songs in the back of the restaurant and at one point,, he switched to Elvis's "I can't help falling in love with you" in English. That made me a little emotional, because that was my late partner's and my song... Anyway, I decided to go for the crêpes with red caviar (salmon roe), and the Ukrainian borscht. Bread and butter is brought to my table. The white bread was OK, but the brown bread had a deep rich flavor. The crêpes come first, and they were amazing. The crêpes were very warm, soft and delicious. I loved the "red caviar". A little bit salty, more briny than fishy, and a wonderful explosion of flavor when the eggs "pop." in the mouth. I was very happy. Next came the borscht. It had cabbage, beets, potatoes, and either beef or pork. I'm not sure which one. The meat , beets and potatoes was very tender, and the soup was delicious and not too rich. A very satisfying flavor., the beets gave it a little bit of an earthy flavor. The sour cream that came with it, just added a creamy richness to it without overtaking the flavor of the borscht. 1000% a home run. Dinner wasn't cheap. Two dishes, two iced teas (I found out they charge for refills), and tax, and it came out to about $48 before tip, .I didn't care. I don't mind paying extra if the food is that good, and this food was absolutely beyond awesome. I would be glad to come back and try other items on the menu. Thank you!
