The only reason this order is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because the restaurant handled the…read moredelivery itself, it arrived very quickly, still hot, and everything was wrapped carefully. The best item in the entire order was the Mushroom Gratin (what many Eastern Europeans would simply call mushroom julienne- Mix of mushrooms in a heavy cream sauce and topped with melted cheese). It was cheesy, properly cooked, flavorful, and actually very good. That said, the price increase is absurd. This dish used to cost $15 and now costs $26, which is a 73% jump, while the portion is still only moderate. Good? Yes. Worth $26? That is another question. The Chicken Stroganoff, however, was a complete failure. It looks like the kitchen was trying to put its own "innovative" spin on a classic dish by serving Chicken Stroganoff over a latke -- basically a large potato pancake/hash brown -- and by adding pickles directly into the dish. In theory, that could have been interesting. In reality, it did not work at all. A proper Stroganoff is usually served with mashed potatoes or buckwheat, and pickles, if used at all, should complement the dish, not drag it down. Here, the pickles added nothing because they were the same poor-quality pickles this restaurant sells separately for extra money: thick, tough, bland, and lacking the garlicky, flavorful bite that good Eastern European pickles are supposed to have. The latke itself was also a miss. Instead of being thin, crisp, and well-seasoned like a proper Eastern European potato pancake, it was thick, heavy, and almost completely flavorless. No character, no seasoning, no real potato crispness -- just a large bland base taking up space on the plate. And that is exactly the problem with this dish overall: far too much latke, very little actual Stroganoff. The chicken portion was minimal, the mushrooms in the Stroganoff were bland and underseasoned, and the chicken pieces themselves were chewy, tough, and unpleasant to eat. The sauce was also weak and unmemorable. So what we really received was an oversized, mediocre potato pancake with a very small amount of badly executed Chicken Stroganoff spread over it to make the portion look more substantial than it actually was. I also paid extra $2 for extra pickles, and that was not worth it either. The portion was tiny-1 fat pickle, quality was poor -- thick, tough, and zero flavor. I asked for extra black bread, and "extra" apparently meant 4 pieces. Better than nothing, but hardly generous considering the prices this place now charges. So overall: extremely fast delivery, 1 very good mushroom appetizer, and 1 overpriced main dish that completely failed despite trying to sound creative on paper. At these prices, "innovative" is not enough. The food actually has to taste good. Here, only 1 dish did.

Delicious food, great presentation, and excellent service!…read more We had an early family dinner at Chateau de Capitane in March 2024. It was Sat but the music would start much later so there was no noise and we could talk. Almost all food we ordered was exceptionally delicious, from appetizers to desserts. The service was very attentive and we also got good suggestions helping to avoid ordering too much :) We highly recommend Chateau de Capitane for excellent delicious food and we'll certainly be back! Appetizers Trio Tartare - awesome! It had tuna, salmon, and yellowtail tartare and each had its own distinct taste. Can't really say which one was better as they were all good but different. Sesame Tuna - perfect! Tuna was tender and flavorful, melting in the mouth. Duck Salad - this one could be better as the duck was dry and scarce. Arugula Goat Cheese Salad - delicious! We were debating whether to order this salad as we make it at home, but we didn't regret. It had a perfect combo of ingredients + some sauce or smth making it a harmony. Kutaby with Herbs - fresh, warm, flavorful. Belyash with Meat - this eastern russia deep fried meat patty was about 1.5x of the standard size. It had perfectly fried dough (not burned) and plenty of juicy medium cooked meat inside. I tired belyashi in restaurants in russia and made at home, but this one surpassed them all. Just this single belyash already makes it worth coming back to Chateau de Capitane :) Soups Uha with Salmon - it was good, fresh, and clear. Plenty of salmon. It was tasty but somewhat standard. The taste could be made more colorful with some extra spices and maybe lemon. Dushpora - fresh and tasty, with cute mini-dumplings. We all tried and liked it. Solaynka - this one was unfortunately a miss. Tasteless and over salted. Mains Duck with Dried Fruits - simply amazing! If you like duck - this a must have! The portion was very generous and had la parts of duck - legs, wings, and breast. It was super juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. The dry fruits were of a good variety and matched the duck. Chilean Sea Bass with Creamy Polenta - soft, flakey, delicious! It wasn't not too fatty as a sea bass could be. Polenta was a great match as well as a mushroom sauce served on the side. Grilled Branzino - it was served nicely peeled off the bones and had great flavor and texture, yet was not "fishy". Stuffed Jumbo Shrimps - these were very good according to the people who ate them.

This place ruined by mothers 70th bday party. I made a reservation with the manager Roman for the birthday party about 3 weeks in advance;and left a deposit to secure the date/time. They told us we would have half of the main dining room. One day before the event Roman calls and asks that another party that booked the other side has had an increase in their party size and would it be ok to move my party further away to the bar area... He said it would be more quieter there. I didn't want to cause trouble so I agreed. The day of the event, Roman is MIA. Our table is set up, and there's a concert going on in the main dining room. These people had a MC, dj, karaoke, games ... BLASTING music in the microphone. When we asked what's happening, the man in charge didn't even flinch or seem to care much. We started complaining and said we booked with you guys and you promised a chill quiet atmosphere... we asked for the other party to lower their music... we almost got into a physical FIGHT with the other party. Why is my mother birthday being dismissed in such a rude way. We could not even make a toast, we couldn't even hear our own thoughts over the loud music. It was ridiculous. The waiter apologized a million times, but why did the owner/manager not handle things??? Even worse; let it escalate? We were basically treated like guests at the "primary event". Shame on you guys as a business . After all that, they didn't even credit my full deposit to the bill.

Chicken schnitzel so good, vegetables crisp and perfectly grilled, and the vinaigrette on my salad couldn't have been better! But I'm not done. As much as I enjoyed lunch there are things I'd like to point out: ### The lunch special is advertised as four courses. Rather than "courses" they might say "components." First comes soup, then your entree plated with salad and a choice of sides. If the salad was served separately, they could claim three courses. But four is a stretch. ### I ordered the cold borscht listed on the menu. (There are different variations.) They gave me hot. If it wasn't so good -- it really was delicious -- I would have asked them to switch it up. ### Lunch was advertised at $20 but we were charged $19. ($19 is obviously preferable, but numbers should be consistent.) They tack on 18% service plus a credit card up-charge -- which we've come to expect. ### I'd normally order a cold glass or wine. BUT .... with wine almost the same price as lunch, I said "no way!" When the manager, a very nice gentleman, asked how we enjoyed our meals, I suggested serving a specially-priced house wine $8-$10, to go with lunch. Nope. I didn't understand the rationale, but he said it would encourage under-age drinkers. (The only customers i saw were old folks and young families!) Other than neighboring Tatiana, cafes that were here years before are gone. Azure is good. Maybe a smidge short of five stars, but good enough for me to think about a return visit. While I never knew borscht could be prepared hot, I'm now going to seek it out. Give it a try!

Then we learned they had just opened so that was understandable; I'm guessing these things will get sorted out soon! Sorry I don't have specific details like the names of the dishes. They have a 4-course lunch, I think it was $24. A soup, a main, salad, and a side. There were 4 of us. We each chose a different soup and there were still several other soups on the menu that we didn't try. They were delicious! Everything we had was fantastic. Lots of fresh flavors; really nicely prepared. I think it is Ukrainian food but maybe there are other influences as well. At $24, the lunch was a good deal. However, there was an additional 18% charge (not a tip though, that was extra).I don't know if it was some kind of tax (we are not from the area so I don't know if this is typical). I am also not sure how much the drinks cost, I think they might have been higher than at other places. But we were on vacation! It is a nice place, on the beach. I liked that there were some little tables basically ON the beach, and there was a lovely covered patio/bar area (that's where we sat - we were a little sandy but they assured us it wasn't a problem). There was also a proper indoor dining area but I believe that is for people who are wearing clothing and not just swimwear. Bathrooms are inside, down some stairs, a railing is loose but I'm assuming that will be fixed - it's a nice place. Everyone working there was so sweet and helpful. Even though the menu and the whole ordering system was fairly daunting for all of us, they were really trying their best. These things will get worked out, I'm confident. You just might want to verify prices of things before you order if that might be a concern. It's also a hookah bar, a customer near us was smoking. It smells lovely, not at all like tobacco or other smokeables. Everything was great. I was pleasantly surprised by a sauce that came on the side of the chicken kebab - it was really spicy. The main dishes were delicious; substantial and filling and it was perfect to have the salad and the grilled vegetable sides (or fries). In my opinion the soups were the absolute stars though and I would love if they served them in flights!

The lulya here, along with the chalahach/lamb chops and especially the sturgeon, are outstanding. The rest of the menu is good also, such as their very tasty kutaba, but go here for the kabobs. I went to this Azeri/Azerbaijani restaurant a while ago with a large party. As per most other spots serving either Central Asian food, Russian food, or food from the surrounding regions, you'll have a different experience if you're with someone who speaks one of a few languages (Russian/something similar and/or the local ones depending on which restaurant of course) as well as if you're in a party or not as there's party platters and stuff to order instead. In terms of service, it was friendly, and the inside was pretty casual. A guy was singing live music eventually, which is pretty normal for these spots. We had a few salads and cold appetizers to begin with. For salads, there was an avocado salad with fresh tomatoes as well as a Greek salad topped with basturma, which were both good. There was also cheese served with tomatoes, as well as an excellent version of eggplant rolls/nigvziani badrijani stuffed with walnuts and spices. The last cold appetizer was a tasty version of soslu patlıcan, a dish of Turkish origin with mashed eggplant, tomatoes, and various other spices. There were also two variants of kutaba, which is a type of stuffed pancake. My preference, as per other times, was the meat version, which had lamb and onions inside and was topped with a generous amount of sumac. It was tender and well-filled, though I think the one at Village Cafe is a little bit better. There was also a good vegetarian version, which was refreshing and nice to eat in between bites of all the richer foods. The big platters came out next, consisting of their specialty, which are the various shashlik/shish kabobs. For this place in particular, the best type of kabob is their ridiculously good sturgeon with generously large pieces of grilled fish served with pomegranate molasses (of course,) along with rice and onions with some sumac on it. It is meaty and tender and perfectly grilled. There was also a large meat platter with very good chalahach/lamb chops, along with very tasty lulya (ground lamb,) chicken, beef, and some liver, which would be for some people a bit undercooked, but I found it to be fine. Other hot dishes included potatoes and mushrooms, along with some fries, which were fine, though I didn't really bother with them anyway, as I was already pretty stuffed. For more home-cooked dishes, I would probably recommend Village Cafe more, as there's more of a selection. However, if you're looking for grilled Central Asian style meats, I haven't found a better spot yet, and I've been to a large number of them, from Azeri spots like this one to Bukharan ones to other places.

The place is small, with a primitive interior, cheap utensils, and paper plates. It has a food smell that soaks into clothes if you choose to dine in. IMO, Tandir Rokhat should be considered as a takeout only. The food left mixed impressions with some dishes being excellent but others - far from so. Overall, I may recommend Tandir Rokhat as a takeout place for excellent tandir samsa, manti, baklava, and perhaps lulya kebab. Food ordered Samsa Tandoori - delicious! Juicy, thin dough, flavor tasty filling. These are huge! Pumpkin Samsa - pass on this. Under salted and lacking flavor. Lulya Kebab with Potatoes - very good, flavorful, but somewhat over salted. Side of roasted potatoes with caramelized onions was excellent. Chicken Kebab - tasteless :( Pass on this. Kimchi Salad - ok Carrot Salad (morkovcha) - too much vinegar and too little flavor.
