Hi, thanks for your prompt response It was last Wednesday that I ordered, 4 days ago. I was really surprised because the food at your place is usually very good. .don't know what happened that day. .I didn't know who to call that's why I posted the review...sad that good restaurants get to comfortable and they stop trying. .atleast that's how I felt that day .In the past I recommend your place so many times. ..so that was surprising to me. .. read more

HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED! Guys, that was the worst experience for the last 20 years. The service is outrageous! We came as a big company. Food was delivered once in 20-30 minutes to each of us: someone was finishing the food while another one was just served with their dish. One of the our group wasn't even served with the food at all! The crew messed it up somewhere and the order was never received by the kitchen, so they hadn't even started cooking the dish. The additional plate of bread took more than an hour to be served. The quality of the food is so low and poor, and overpriced. We tried to discuss the situation with the manager, and you know what she told us?! That we should be upset with the war in Ukraine. Are you serious? First of all, don't tell me what I should be upset about. Secondly, I don't discuss political issues neither with my friends, nor relatives. If I am so highly opinionated, I will contact mass media, not you, the manager of low grade public catering. Overall, our experience was SUPER BAD: We will never come here again! read more

we ware 4 people we had salads, beef, chicken, rice, and beers. the food was amazing and the bill was only $95 we will be back read more

Nargis Cafe - Middle Eastern Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Cafe Nargis www.nargiscafe.com/ 2818 Coney Island Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11235-5045 (718) 872-7888 ************************************ Overall Impression: This Brooklyn eatery is quite unique in terms of the food it so masterfully prepares - Uzbek Cuisine is known very little in the US, although it combines accents from China, Mongolia, Persia, Turkey, India and thousands of years of the Middle Eastern history. Cafe Nargis does some of the best and traditional Uzbek fare - food is truly excellent. Although humble in terms of real estate, wine and service, it is an excellent place in terms of food flavors and quality - definitely worth a special trip. WOW WOW WOW Came here after visiting a relative that lives down the street and introduced us to these $4 kebobs...AMAZING!!! From the breads, salads and talk about their herb french fries... DELISH After 2 weeks we took another 1.5 hours drive from NJ just to have these kebobs... When we got there they sd it's a 2 hour wait and we mentioned to the person in front that we drove a long way just to eat there and they gave us a table within 20 mins... YOU GUYS ROCK!!! read more

3 stars only because the service was excellent, food.... i would say 2 stars. They used to serve an excellent food in the beginning...about 11- 12 years ago, last time i was here about 5 years ago and didnt like it, kebab was very dull. So today i wanted to give a chance and tried again, nothing changed, the kebab the same tasteless. Salad "Nargiz" was fresh. My son had plov and he said it was "OK". They have to try harder now, since they have so much competition. read more

This place gets better every time. Recently, we had the pleasure of tasting a Korean styled fish appetizer off their specials menu. As a true Korean food fan, I thought the fish appetizer was superb. The pumpkin samsas are something that we always order. It's rich, sweet and savory at the same time, and wrapped in a crust so crispy and flakey that every bite will make your eyes roll to the back of your head. The oxtails are also a winner. But note that although still fantastic when you order it out, it is better at the table. When you take out, they do not include the fresh dill on top like they would when you are dining it. That bit of fresh dill makes all the difference. The cherry on top of an incredible meal is always the pieces of gum for everyone at your table when your check arrives. Simple touches like that will keep me coming back. read more

Came all the way from Manhattan with Kazakh friends, got beef screws, manty and pilov. The food was great, price is very good, that's why one person got three different dishes; the service is good but not so attentive, I assume it gets very busy. Its a good place to invite friends to introduce to Kazakh food, or the Central Asian cuisine. read more

They have amazing kebabs! The beef and chicken are very good! The avocado salad and the feta salad are both delicious! Would definitely come here again! read more

My family and I have been going here since they first opened and so far not once did I have a bad experience. The food is fresh and amazing. Their shish kebabs are always juicy but even if you want sauce with it, they have their own which is very good.My favorite has to be the chicken kebab. Overall this is an amazing place to eat, w/e you order it will be good and the prices are more then fair. This is definitely one of my favorite places. read more

My favorite restaurant to eat at whenever I come to New York. Delicious food My favorites are- Uzbek Plov, Avocado Salad, and Steamed Manti. With a jar of homemade fruit punch. Service is great but really call in advance. read more

This place is a great stopover on the way back to Manhattan from Coney Island or the far reaches of the Q train. Came here on the recommendation of a friend. I mean... there's a recommended Uzbek place in a neighborhood we haven't been to before? Wouldn't you make a pitstop? We had the plov, some grilled lamb and kofta, a couple of amazing salads, and the non bread. Everything was so good! The food was fresh and flavorful, the service was relatively prompt, and loved the vibe on a Sunday afternoon-- tons of Russian families, multiple generations. We are not Uzbek or in any way Russian, so the choices were a little bit overwhelming and a tad hard to navigate. I get the sense that we would have had a hard time choosing wrong, but more descriptive English descriptions may have been helpful for the uninitiated. Also, they don't take Amex. read more

I know this place have a good reviews , and lots of my friends were suggesting me to come here, but I had really terrible experience at this place. I asked the host ( think her name was Lola ) if I could sit in another place , and she just said no and went away that fast that I could not even add a word. When I was going to wash my hands I heard how she was talking a really bad things about me with a waiters. I also saw the window where you can see the cooks, all cooks are working without masks and even gloves. It's not really clean there at usual time I am not even talking about Covid times. I could not get my food in time so I was offered just to take it with me for to go. I was okay with food not coming , I am really not complaining person, but this issue with host as well as cooks station, you could not imaging, All I wanted is to close my ears and ran out of this place. The person who is supposed to meet and great you gave that bad experience. read more

The food is delicious and the service was great. Must order item is Samsa, Plov, shashlik on lamb rack, and of course Manti! Delicious food, as close to homemade as possible. Order the homemade juice called kompot , it is cooling and refreshing. Service was excellent with staff very attentive and prompt. Food arrived very quickly. Would most definitely come back here next time I'm at Coney Island. read more

Has their own little twist on the scores of restaurants just like it out in these neighborhoods. Even has outdoor seating. Good servers and all uniformly dressed. However, for some reason, I'm just not into these places period. Have trouble giving them a higher rating than they probably deserve. read more

I have only been here once. Food: I had the avocado salad(tomatoes, cucumbers, radish, red onion, scallion, dill, olive oil and vinegar)it was good. Also ordered the Kebobs(lamb rib, chicken wings, chicken, liver)the lamb was my fave. Service: I'm torn because they did everything standard, but they were ogling my husband and I because we chose to speak English, it was as if it was forbidden in the restaurant. This turned me off a bit. Atmosphere: typical casual Russian restaurant. But they have outside seating in the front. Overall: I enjoyed the food and thought it was more flavorful than most Russian restaurants. I will be coming back and giving them another chance to win me over with service quality. read more

You mean rascist cafe? How do i need a reservation for an emtpy restaurant for lunch? There isnt alot of people in here and there isnt a line around the block The food isnt anything spectacular, the dessert is amazing though. Not worth the wait or hassle of wasting your money if you arent of a certain ethnicity. Would have gotten a negative star if i could hve done that (but 1 star is the lowest i can give) read more

Don't let the cafe after the name nargis fool you; this is a very very good restaurant; I used to live in the sheepshead Bay Area, & was introduced to nargis by a Russian Freind The Uzbek Plov is amazing; those meat chunks are out of this world. The lulya kebob is another good choice Price is very good; service bit slow; but overall very positive experience. Go in summer; sit outside and order Plov read more

This place never disappoints as far as their food is concerned. Made an order for pick up yesterday and it all came out on time and amazing quality as usual. The problem is, none of the workers at the restaurant were wearing masks! Not a single person. I that just ignorance or poor management? My son was picking up the food inside and he felt very uncomfortable. read more

Very good food, kebabs very sexy , the fries very also sexy, big b the owner also very bald and very sexy. Trust me on this one very yummy very sexy read more

Good food. Good service. Parking is not the best. Table seating is a little tight though since the place isn't that big. I came here with my co-workers and one was russian speaking so he knew what to order. I'm not sure I would know what to order if he wasn't there. I can't even tell you what we ordered because I have no idea but overall, everything was pretty good. read more

I love to try new food. Since I am in New York, I always make sure I try food from around the world. Its a part of who I am. I came here because it is close to my home and my friend told me its a great place to try some good uzbek food. Why not right? We got there at 8 30 and the place is packed. By 9 10, I was so hungry and I kept on looking at the general manager to get me seated. Finally, he managed to find me a table. If you go as a large group you are lucky because their tables are for big familes. and they dont have two people tables. I like this because it gave me more room to keep my food. I ordered Yoghurt drink ( similar to lassi for indians) meat salad- tashkent greensaland with eggs- navruz Plov Manti Samsa Lamb kababs What can I say folks- Hands down, one of the best meals I ever had. I loved it so much and I will come back again. I was the only Indian girl in the house that night and thats ok because I love loud russian men n women anyways. My only problem for the night was the waitress forgot to pack my plov. I was sad because we barely ate any of our food since we ordered a lot. I got home and realized plov was missing so I called them. The general manager picked up.His name is Mr Arkady ( I am not sure). He was so quick to tell me that he now owes me a plov. So my next visit, I will get a plov. Yay......Good Customer service there. Overall I loved it and I will def bring my friends here again. read more

First uzbek meal and certainly looking forward to my next. Other than the lamb and chicken kebabs, which were packed with flavor and extremely tender when eaten hot, the cucumber, scallion and radish salad was a winner too, esp with the fresh dill on top. Finally, shurpa is a hearty soup you dont want to miss if you love a meaty soup! Boris- I am pretty sure I will be shooting for the Oxtail and Calf livers next time! read more

The wait to be seated was 15 minutes sharp . We ate well. The food was phenomenal . For appetizers we ordered 2 chebureki , an avocado salad which had radishes , lettuce , onion , cucumbers and tomato . Shurpa soup , a Kim chee spicy Asian cabbage salad , 1/2 of a lepyoshka ( Russian bread ) . 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio and 2 shots rem moniet , and green tea . As an Entree We ordered 6 skewers 2 lamb ribs , which had 10 mini ribs on each skewer , a chicken kebab , a lyula kebab a liver kebab and a lamb kebab . The service charge was included and it came out to $113, We gave her $120 :) great atmosphere . read more

I have lunch here today, the food is good , service and staffs are friendly. However I am not happy with the way they bill me. The staff brings me a bill with 10% service fee which confused me. Generally I would tip 18-25% out of the bills for good services. For this case, I am not so sure whether I just pay the bill without any tips to give in , or the staffs are still expecting a good 15%or more tips by the end? If they still demand certain 15-25% of tips, I would consider it's a way to rip off. The end, I pay the 10% service fee and still give in 15% tips because of the services. But I would prefer the staffs make the gratitude issue clear to everyone, instead of making customers to tip them twice! It is not right! read more

This was my first time trying Uzbek food; it was very good. I had the manti, the sauteed vegetables, the tiramisu, and the passion fruit lemonade. The manti were quite interesting/different but very tasty, while the sauteed vegetables were excellent. The tiramisu was also excellent, and much better than the tiramisu served at many other restaurants. I've never had passion fruit lemonade before, and after trying it, would recommend it. The restaurant was spacious and clean. Our waiter, however, didn't seem particularly cheerful. I would definitely eat here again. Uzbek food didn't disappoint. read more

Horrible horrible service and food place smells like dirty feet and they charged us for the dish that i said I am not going to eat Bc it tasted horrible and it had way too much sauce salt and pepper plus dirty glasses that were not changed and waiter poured my juice in it I got up asked for check and I saw the charge for something I didn't want to eat read more

Sadly all I remember having was the sea bass. It was absolutely delish!!!! I wish I had more of it. I can't even explain why it was so tasty. It just was and it was fresh. Also the delivery was quick and that is always a plus. read more

Very fresh delicious food,I love beef kebab, pilaf, avocado salad and many more. And prices are affordable, friendly stuff.

The service was great but the food was just meh. I've had a lot better for much cheaper. It's a nice place, possibly better if you come here to celebrate something, but not worth going out of your way to if you're craving Uzbek food. Their version of a greek salad was decent but no olives, their chicken kebabs were tasty, but their manti were tiny and lacking in flavor read more

This is a small restaurant my friend introduced me too. It is considered Asian food because it comes from the country of Uzbekistan which is outside of Russia, in the Asian continent. Anyway, food is authentic, fresh and simple. Prices are super affordable. there is nothing fancy about this cafe. they play Russian music videos while you eat, (which can be entertaining all on its own!) and service is friendly, even though the English isn't good. I recommend this restaurant for a tasty cultural experience. read more

Great Food cooked to perfection, and you know it's fresh with the high turn around rate. The only negative is the seating. Even with the renovation/expansion, they still try and fit as many people as possible. This makes it difficult for parties and waiters to go by the tables. And last thing you want is someone's a$$ in your plate. Better seating arrangements are a must! Forget about reservations, they do not exist. Expect at least 30-60min wait to get a table on a Friday/Saturday. read more

Ummmmm.... delicious really delicious I've been coming here since it was a whole in the wall with I belive 6 small tables Now they are half a block (for good reason) Congrats guys!!!
