I needed to get my eyebrows "did" for EDC so I found the YELP announcement for a free eyebrow wax with print out for Nanu. Arrived at 5:30PM on a Friday thinking it'd be packed, but I was the only customer in there when I walked in. Anje was at the front desk so I gave her my coupon but also informed her I wanted a lip wax too. She sat me down and started going at it. Wowzers, threading to me is a bit weird and my eyes started watering but no pain no gain right?. The lips (oh boy the lips, owie!) As I was done, there was a man that was at the front counter and he examined my print out and told me it was $4 (for the cost of the lip threading). I was amazed at how less the swelling is in comparison to when I get my eyebrows/lips waxed. Very nice and friendly staff. As others have said, not fancy, but clean and gets the job done with a smile! =) read more

The only reason this place is receiving a 4 star review and not a 5 is because everyone here but Twinkle is not very friendly from my experiences. TWINKLE IS AMAZING! She is the only person I allow to touch my eyebrows! She is very gentle (or as gentle as you can be with threading) and never misses a hair. I always get a ton of compliments on my eyebrows and it's all credited to her. The place is very clean and the new receptionist is very nice (the girl before her was very quiet). The prices are as fair as they can be. $9 for eyebrows. The other prices I am not quite sure of as I only do my eyebrows. They also have a stamp card so for every 10 visits you get 1 free threading of your choice! Thank you Twinkle! I always recommend everyone over to her! read more

Warning: Don't be offended if they ask you if you'd like an upper lip threading. Happens all the time. I am a loyal customer who's addicted to threading. They take their time and don't rush the customers, even when there are people waiting, but it's all done within a reasonable amount of time. One of the ladies (who I believe is named Nanu- she signed my card that way) spends a little more time massaging your forehead & it makes my day every time. Including tip, it's only a $10 treat. I've tried Vinita's in Tustin, but I did not feel welcomed & the dumb girl overcharged my credit card. No bueno. Go to Nanu's, avoid any problems. read more

I went here because I saw that it had a lot of great reviews on here. and it's only about 5 minutes from my house. So it's definitely not all fancy schmancy, but it wasn't dirty either. They greeted me and I said I wanted to get my eyebrows done, and by looking at the sign in sheet everyone asked for Navi so I asked if she was Navi, and she was. I have done threading before but it was so many years ago so I was a little scared to see how my pain tolerance was going to withhold, but it definitely was not bad at all! I have a very low threshold so if I can you can! She did my right brow first and she asked me if i liked the shape which i really appreciated because i have been butchered by waking before, it was prefect so she did the left and then cleaned them up with scissors. There's something about getting your eyebrows threaded that is magical. Maybe not many people can tell the difference, but I FEEL AMAZING afterwards. Such a boost of confidence when you know your brows are on point. I'm lucky enough to live right by here and the main reason I tried it out. They have a ipad check in system that's pretty cool and it keeps track of how many times you've been there. My biggest reason I like this place, is that everyone does a great job. Yes, some are more amazing, but even the "worst" person is great. Like comparing an 8.5 to a 10. My threading virginity was lost at Nanu's. Subsequent threading salons I tried out don't compare in the care and attention they give, as well as its reasonable value. I've had threading done at Nanu's about 4 times now, 2 of those times were by Navi (I think she has Sunday off). I even took my friend to get his eyebrows threaded since I was tired of plucking his unibrow, and they did an amazing job threading those unruly brows into shape while maintaining kind sensitivity toward his howls of pain. Always do a quality check in the end, make sure there are no strays/uneven eyebrows. Just politely point it out if there's a problem, and they will fix it until you're satisfied with the results. I usually go to get my eyebrows threaded at Vinita's in Cerritos and then go shopping at the mall, but I decided to switch it up. It's too far and I haven't been too satisfied the last few times. Lack of detail. After looking at Yelp reviews I decided to try Nanu's. Good things were said. I arrived and noticed the emptiness of the building, and noticed that they noticed me parked outside because of the lack of business. I went inside, was greeted promptly and then Anje helped me. She was AMAZING. Super nice and DEFINITELY cared about my precious eyebrow hairs. She went around and took the for sure "get out of here" hairs and then went back through and made me look like a superstar. I left with perfect eyebrows and the biggest smile. This was my first time having my eye brows threaded. First of all, let me say I am a new fan of this as a way to keep my brows in check. Less painful than waxing and faster too. Still not sure how she was able to get my brows looking so awesome with just some thread! The shop is clean and parking was plentiful in the lot. My only complaint is that i would have like a little runthrough on what to expect, since it was my first time there. I even noted that on the check in form. Other than that, a very good experience. OMG! Just went in to get my brows done... I don't know her name but the woman who threaded them messed up my eyebrows!!! Just for reference, she was the shortest one there. So disappointed and sad... they are uneven, differently shaped, and one brow is missing a patch of hair. I should have gone with Twinkle (?), since I saw that so many customers requested her on the sign-in sheet. Oh well, I doubt I will be coming back. If you like your eyebrows, don't come and take the chance of getting this woman since your eyebrows will turn out horrible if you do! read more

Painful ! Feels like skin is being ripped off ! I've had these services done before and they were no where near as painful as this visit. I don't know if it's because I have hyper sensitive skin or it's been all the pampering I've been doing lately or this lady just had no idea what she was doing but it felt like my skin was being ripped off when she threaded my eyebrows and upper lip. I have a pretty high pain threshold but I left crying it hurt so much. Not to mention red & inflamed skin. The only remedies were ice and aloe vera. I know this was "atypical" service, because no one in their right mind would put themselves through that, ever. Who would ever do that to their bodies. I will never return. read more

okay, TWINKLE IS AMAZING! I've been going to her for almost 3 years now after hearing about her from my sister, and I won't trust anyone else. I've gotten 2 other girlfriends hooked on the place and recommend all of my clients to go there (I work for a cosmetic line) plus it's conveniently a block from South Coast Plaza. My brows grow crazy fast and I can literally do a new shape every month, if I feel sassy and want an high arch Twinkle will give me a high arch (warning me first that it might be too dramatic for a guy), or a small arch, or barely an arch, which I'm doing for this month. The best thing about her, besides her awesome threading skills, is that we'll talk for the 2-4 mins I'm there and she'll remembers everything the next month I'll come in and we'll pick up from there again. read more

Only a 2 because Krishna did a great job doing my Brazilian wax. However, Twinkle did my wax the other time because Krishna was not there and she was nice, but she did a bad job. Upon going home, I found a whole patch of hair that she missed and I paid extra for the back and there was still hair. Also, Twinkle's Brazilian wax left me with bumps, similar to razor bumps. I have never had bumps before this. Ever. Not even from shaving. What the hell. read more

I stopped seeing Twinkle cause one day I came in and she wasn't there, so I was seen by Annie. Annie did an amazing job, so I kept up seeing her since Twinkle has a long wait sometimes, even though Twinkle still rocks! I got my eyebrows done elsewhere two months ago and they jacked up my eyebrows pretty bad (one was thinner than the other, no real shape, etc.) so I've gone to various threaders since (wherever is convenient at the time) letting them know if they can leave some stray hairs on the thinner brow so both can be uniform. None of them listen and they've continued to follow in the mistake of the other place! So I went back to Twinkle (haven't seen Annie in a while) and she totally fixed it. Wow. It took 2 months to correct a mistake that someone else made, and no one else seemed to be able to fix it except Twinkle. What a life saver (cause eyebrows are a big deal people!) read more

I decided to come here because it was close to my boyfriends house and also my eyebrows were pretty much getting out of control. I was sat at seat 4 and it was my first time doing this, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Based on other Yelp reviews, I went here to see Twinkle. True to other reviews, she is very quick and very precise. She was also very gentle. At first glance, my eyebrows looked a tad thin but after the redness went down (I always always get red wah), they really complimented my face. Then I filled them in and daaang. Honestly though, I think if you went to see the other ladies around there, you'd be pretty pleased with your brows. I saw two women before me who didn't see Twinkle, and their brows looked so clean. I found this place by recommendation of a friend who lived across the street. I was still pretty new to threading, but more that I've gone a few more places, I know this place is amazing. It's located in a small shopping center next to a jiffy lube and the parking is sometimes difficult during evenings with the small spaces, but it's never too bad. The ladies there are always welcoming and in a good mood (I hate going to places where they're grumpy - I feel like they're going to take it out on my brows!) and they are quick! I went in today and almost every waiting chair was taken, but I was seated in two or three minutes. The ladies always get right to work and do a good job but quickly, which I really appreciate when I'm getting my lip done. They also have good music playing, which is a nice touch. Their prices are pretty average, if I remember correctly (it's been a while since I've gone anywhere else) but what I LOVE is that they take card and will give you cash back for a tip! It's great for the days (every day, really) when I don't have any cash. Honestly, unless I move, I will never go anywhere else. read more

My first visit, and I got here 20 min before closing. They gave each other wide-eyed looks when I asked for full face ($30), but Krishna was very friendly and didn't seem to be in rush to leave. She did an awesome job, and it was the least painful experience I've had getting threaded. The interior is kind of wonky, but it doesn't really bother me since my eyes are closed 90% of the time. I came here because I really needed a quick and cheap place to maintain my eyebrows. I had only gotten my eyebrows waxed once before in my life, and that was at the Benefit counter. While they did a great job, it cost $25, and that is too expensive to pay everytime I need a clean up. I would just tweeze my brows myself trying to keep the shape, however it was starting to look very sloppy. I don't know if it's the tweezer, but my hairs normally break and you can see the root. Looked on yelp, and Nanu was quite close to work so I went during my break. I walked in and was seen immediately by Tika. She asked me if I wanted my upper lip done too, but politely said no. I wasn't offended or anything, I was just going back to work and didn't want to go back with a red upper lip. I told her that too, and she's like, oh no it won't turn red or get swollen. I still said no, but she kept asking about the little hairs on my lip so I was like whatever as long as it doesn't turn red. Besides, it's only $5. She proceeded with one brow first, and it does sting a bit but goes by real fast. I like that she let me see it before going on to the next brow and wanted to make sure I was happy with the shape. Once she was done I could feel my face throbbing and I knew it was red. Sure enough, I was right. She sprayed some witch hazel on me but it didn't do much. When I went back to work I had to sneak through the back door and sit at my desk for the rest of the day hoping no one would talk to me. I still give them 5 stars because this place was everything that I was looking for. They are super quick (there were about 5 ladies there ready for walk-ins), super cheap, and do a very clean job. They also give a frequent buyer card so I will definitely be back, but will make sure I go when I don't have to be somewhere later! I had never stepped foot in a threading joint. Ever. I honestly have no idea what magic is going on. None. I could watch it happen and I bet it would still be beyond me. After loosing skin for the last time while waxing the brows I was ready for something diff. A quick peak on Yelp and I was ready to go. I walked in on a Tuesday after work. I signed in and was shown straight to the chair. Side-note: The gal who helped me did not speak the greatest English. I didn't even tell her what I wanted. But, I was feeling like a risk taker and hey, they will grow back, right? So, Tika? within minutes taught me how to properly hold my lid taught. Then handed me a mirror and, wholly crap. The left brow was awesome. Better than any wax job ever. A few minutes later, the right was done. And they were perfect. I will be honest, it is not pain free. But not one bit worse than waxing for me. (and I am excluding the ripped off skin part) It seems to take less time cause all the fine tuning is done the whole time. No rip them tweeze. Big plus. After the fact, I have never had so many people notice my brows. Ever. :) I will be back. And will never get near a vat of hot wax again! read more

After today's redemption, I felt it was worth writing a review about this place. I am never the type of person to complain! My last experience before today was HORRIBLE. I swear when I left the last time, I told myself that I would NEVER go back. Madu was my esthetician and I thought she was going to be good like she was the previous time. But before we went into the waxing room, there was another walk-in client of hers that she recognized. When she noticed that she had another client waiting, she completely RUSHED through my appointment, which left me to suffer the consequences later. Ladies, you know what that means. She waxed a bit too much skin which left me to be extra sensitive whenever I had to urinate. For this reason, I waited a whole month before even thinking of getting a brazilian wax again. And to top it off, when I got home and took a shower, I noticed that she didn't even get all the hair off that she should have if she took her time. DON'T GO TO MADU if the place looks busy. OR tell her to take her time! Otherwise be prepared to get more skin removed than you would like. I wish I had said something last time about her! I clearly was not happy! Gotta keep these brows on fleek! I have lived in Orange County for 7 months now and I am so glad that I have not had to search for alternative threading salons. After my first time at Nanu Threading, I just kept on coming! My go-to gal is Twinkle. She does an AMAZING job with these brows of mine. The end of one of my eyebrows swishes up which makes it super hard to fix, so I have heard. Welp, Twinkle knows how to make that swish blend in. :) After two weeks of stress from school, there's nothing better than walking out of a salon with brows of perfection. :D I'm pretty sure I am going to be making a stop here when I drive up from San Diego this summer and possibly beyond.
