I would go to Nanu's on 17th Street for my threading but they recently closed :,( so I visited another threading salon further down 17th Street but I did not like their poor customer service. I needed my eyebrows done and was heading over to Home Depot and looked for a threading lounge en route. Thankfully I checked Google's reviews rather than Yelp's because otherwise I would have stayed away! I arrived at 2 PM sharp and there was a handwritten note that they were away for lunch until 2:30 PM. I was irritated but desperate so I just walked around the shopping center. When I came back at 2:25 PM, there was another customer waiting at the door already. When she finally returned from lunch, a total of 7 people came in (including myself and the woman who had been waiting). I was surprised and impressed. She left her radio on and very loud initially which was really annoying but thankfully she ultimately turned it off when my turn came up next. Despite the fact there were several women waiting, she did not visibly rush, as I have experienced often at other salons when there are many people waiting. I've been coming to this location for a couple years and usually they charge me $10-12 for a clean up unless I get my eyebrows done. I've had good and bad experiences. Today this lady did a clean up on me she was very rough and seemed like she was still learning and then proceeded to charge me $17 I told her I always get charged $12 so she let me do $12. I hope in my car and check my face with my phone light and I see hair everywhere she did a terrible job, I go back in and ask her if she can get the remaining and she did it and there were still hair, she seemed like she was annoyed so I just said okay thank you. The one that is really good and gets all the hairs out is a blonde white lady that works there she is the best. Now I have to figure out how I'm gonna get these short hairs out of my upper lip. read more

I have been coming here for years and this week I decided to get my eyebrows done for my birthday after letting my brows grow for 1 year. I came in and let the lady know please just a clean up and she said yes just a cleanup. I felt a bunch of hair flying everywhere and when I look she made them so thin I wanted to cry. I have not been here for about four years, but I was willing to give them a try again. This past two times I've had a young skinny lady thread my eyebrows. Yes her customer service is a little off but maybe that's the way she is and sometimes mentions your flaws (which maybe some people don't want to hear including me. ) The quality of her threading is great however. She took her time and she made sure every tiny hair was off, and since she is so good at it, it was painless for me. It was rather relaxing that I wanted to take a nap. Pleased with the outcome and price! Was greeted immediately by Anju, who did my thread job. I hate to admit that I need to get threaded on a weekly basis and have been through the full spectrum of threading salons over the years, but that makes for a good comparison for the services I received today. Anju was quick and kept it clean. This was the first time I had the aloe applied to my skin before getting threaded, which I feel helped a bit, especially from preventing the threaded hairs from accidentally going up your nose lol. Unlike other reviews that I have read of this place, I left happy and without any cuts or straggling hairs. I definitely recommend Anju! read more

Anju does an amazing job! My mom,sister and myself have been going here for awhile now. I will wait until Anju is there because I don't like to change my stylist. I try to go on Monday mornings since it's a lot more convenient and less people. I ask for a "clean up" and it's always what I want. I used to go to Zibas and it just seemed like everyone was leaving with the same kind of eyebrows instead of focusing on your face shape and eyes. They have changed location and now are closer the the Planet Fitness... so parking can be a little struggle. Overall really enjoy coming here. read more

I've been going to Meenu (the owner) for over 10 years - Way before the Threading Lounge days. In fact, I get so concerned every time she goes to India for vacation. Because...Who is going to do my eyebrows??? What am I going to do without her here??? Yes, I know that I'm sounding selfish, but I'm sure you would be, too, if you had to look for a "temporary" someone to fill her spot for a month or two. Anyhow, life does goes on... Just went to get my brows done and the lady doesn't know what she's doing. I told her I wanted them cleaned up and they are far from it. Still lots of very visible black hairs and not a clean line. Didn't even get my uni-brow fully. Usually I go here and get a younger girl and she does a good job but today they just had a older lady that clearly has no idea of how to properly shape a brow. Or clean up a brow. I understand times are tuff, but she very clearly doesn't know what she's doing and shouldn't be altering anything on people's faces without someone supervising or training her more. So I decided that give this place a second try. Sure enough, they really disappointed me. Not only did they (once again) point out my infamous bold spot on my eyebrow.. The 40-something year old lady who did my eyebrows did a lousy job. She left pieces of unplucked hairs in places that should have been clear and didn't bother snipping them correctly. When time came to pay it was $8 and I gave her 2 tens. A few of her girlfriends walked in and completely ignored the fact that she owed me $2 which I was going to give back to her as a tip... But why even bother with the poor customer service. It seemed as if she was more I interested in her friends as they all walked out laughing and jittering before I even stepped out. How unprofessional. Spend your money elsewhere. I'm going to nanu threading next time. This place is trash. read more

I have used this place couple of times and there service is Ok, but this time The lady who was there was a terrible person, she didn't want to work. After me waiting for her to finish 2 customers and finally it's my turn she said she can't offer me any service. Every time I go I get the younger lady and she usually misses a few spots to pluck and I let her know nicely I wanted her to pluck this spot above my eyebrow because she missed it and i wanted a good clean up and she Criticises me and my eyebrows saying I have bald spots and that if she plucks a few hairs it'll make it super thin when I just wanted her to pluck 3 stands above my eyebrow to clean it up. and she'll start threading getting layers of hair off when I just wanted her to pluck a few hairs above my eyebrow, which then actually made my brows thinner, my wax lady never did that and no one I've gotten my eyebrows done from have ever fucked them up like that. Super rude! And unprofessional how can you talk shit on your customers when they just want a good clean up and you messed it up. Work on being more Polite and having good customer service this is why you get no tip. :) read more

Meenu is very nice and does a wonderful job. The facility was clean and in a nice shopping center. I had got there right after a rush and right before another rush. This was first time getting my brows threaded that I had a painless experience. Her technique was impeccable! She did exactly what I wanted and cleaned then up very nicely. Surprised at all the bad reviews...I came here to get my eyebrows threaded on 10/11/19 and the older Indian lady (sorry, forgot her name) did my eyebrows and she did a pretty good job. She had me check after she was finished and we made some slight adjustments (she didn't know whether I was growing out the middle or not, but I told her I wanted it all cleaned up and she was happy to do it). Meenu is great but the other girl is nasty. There used to be other girls working here but now there's only 2. I have been a loyal customer since 2016 but, I am done. Last Friday I went and arrived at 6:45. 15 minutes before closing and the door was already shut. The girl came out and didn't even have the audacity to open the door and talk to me as to why the door was shut but lights are turned on. She talked to me through the glass to tell me that she is waxing another girl, I said I was willing to wait and she was like no I can't, I can't do you. If this is Meenu she would've taken me. This girl already had a strike on me, the first time she did my eyebrow she was like do you shave your eyebrows FR wtf if I shave it why would I even come to you. The women behind the desk got us in right away and I've had my lip threaded before and it HURTS! This was my first time here and I love taking care of my eye brows, because when they are clean they look amazing!!!! I am so glad this place opened up right across the street from my house, I have being going to Ziba for over 5 years but since there prices went up I couldnt afford going to them anylonger and I was hesitant of going to anyone else in fear that my eyebrows wouldnt look as amazing as they would. Boy was I excited when I got here. There was no line, and I didnt have to wait. That was awesome, but this place is small and there is usually one person working so if you come at a bad time and have to wait, im sorry. I was a walk in and thankfully I showed up before all the people that go to get there brows down during lunch :) I will definently be a regular customer here. They do just as good, if not better as Ziba. AND AND AND i like that they offer a punch card and after your 10th visit, you get a free eyebrow threading, that is awesome especially for me that gets them done every two weeks. read more

I had plans on Thursday night and I realized that I needed to do something about my unruly eyebrows. I called a couple places to see if they could squeeze me in, and a couple places had the audacity to ask me if I wanted an appointment next week. I refuse to go anywhere else in Costa Mesa. I've tried Nanu and the others but I keep coming back here. The younger employee here (can't recall her name but she's super pretty) is absolutely amazing. She takes her time to shape your brows to the natural shape so when it grows back, they still look good. Also, every time I return she constantly is working on shaping it better so when they grow back they grow nicely. I've gone places that will thread the same standard shape on everyone, when it grows back you look like you have to angry caterpillars growing above your eyes. no bueno. I came here on my lunch break to get my eyebrows done. I figured it takes 5-10 minutes max to get them done and maybe 15 minute wait at the most. I get there and there is only 1 person working and four people waiting. She asked me nicely to wait for 30 minutes or come back after work (I don't live anywhere near it). So I left and honestly was shocked that they would only have 1 person working! Fridays are always busy days at any type of beauty salon and I can't imagine even on a slow day having only one person working! They should have at least had someone at the front or a sign in sheet to stay oranized. There was none of that! Even this smaller, older place in tustin that didn't look as nice had a girl at the front. If they can afford it so can she! I have stumbled across various threading spots and this one definitely hit the spot! The check-in could be a little cleaner and easier, preferably with a receptionist. There was no one to check-in with, only the woman who was threading a customers eyebrows. It would be nice to have someone who doesn't thread, solely focus on just signing people in- like Ziba's fast computer check-ins with your phone #. Anju was the woman who started threading my eyebrows. I asked her to please just do a clean up and not thread an excessive amount. She first applied aloe vera onto my eyebrows and lips, then worked very meticulously. I was very pleased with her end result and recommendations given post my experience. Overall, I would come back here because of Anju and the way she threaded my eyebrows. I was hesitant to try a random new spot but you'll never know unless you take that risk!
