Food was excellent. Service seemed inexperienced but overall pleasant. I enjoyed breakfast here two out of six days.

Had the Omelette with bacon, ham, tomatoes and mushroom, also French toast and pancake…read more The Omelette was really good. Very generous on the ham and bacon. The ham tasted like cooked in brown sugar and honey which complemented the more savory slightly salty bacon bits. The bacon had a drier texture and more like crumbles vs chopped bacon pieces but worked well with the other ingredients. Mushroom was grilled and added an earthy flavor which balanced the heavier meat ingredients. The side of potatoes was really good, too. It was cut in cubes, lightly coated with some kind of starch and fried. The coating has the flavor of seasoned curly fries. Lightly crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I chose rye from the bread options. The french toast was also yummy; cinnamonny and eggy flavor but without being overly soaked in custard nor soggy. This was a side order for additional cost. The pancakes tasted like it had sweet cream and had a nutty hint of flavor. More dense than fluffy but was good. Reasonable prices for the quality and amount of the food. Staff were nice and friendly. Great ambiance, too. The restaurant has a very cozy homey feel with the country style decor. Windows wrapped around most of the dining area. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend if you're around Keystone South Dakota or nearby area.

This is how a restaurant should be. If I'm going to spend the egregious amount of money to eat out…read morein 2026, it should be better than what I can cook at home. Too often do I go out to eat and spend $30+ to eat bland, overprocessed garbage food. This place clearly cares are but their quality. First - the menu items are unique and everything looked delicious. The quality of the food was top notch. The Eggs Benedict was pretty dang close to perfection. I'm a snob when it comes to eggs Benedict and it's soooo nice to find a place that actually does it right. They clearly made their own hollandaise and the eggs were poached perfectly. The service was excellent as well - the waitress was always checking in on me and she was very warm and friendly. Same with all of the other staff I've encountered. Honestly it's a little pricey but youre only going to spend an additional $5-10 per person over the greasy spoon diner down the street and it's wayyyy worth it. The restaurant was also very clean and inviting. I'm so sick of going to restaurants and the menus are dirty, the bathroom is disgusting, and the ambiance is dingy. This place was clean, fresh, and well kept up. Seriously one of the best restaurants I've tried in a while.

Phenomenal service!!…read moreBritt was amazing along with the entire staff... truly authentic people that care about your experience and dinner choices. I honestly can't say enough... we felt like family. We were able to meet the chef/owner, who even discussed where the proteins are sourced and gave me a secret tip on the potatoes that I will be sure to try. Here for family vacay, so happy we found this place... most likely going back to try the risotto. And... say yes to the lobster buns!!!

We were visiting from North Carolina and celebrating our anniversary, and the entire experience made the evening incredibly memorable. From the moment we arrived, the host team was warm and welcoming. Although we were about 15 minutes early, our table was already prepared--a small detail that showed genuine care and attention. Our wonderful server, Teagahn, was full of smiles and positive energy. She took exceptional care of us throughout the evening and made us feel completely at home. The food was spectacular and far exceeded our expectations. We've experienced everything from hole-in-the-wall gems to high-end restaurants such as Michael Mina, and Skogen ranks very high on our list--honestly, even better than Hell's Kitchen. Every plate placed in front of us was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The lobster salad and lobster bun were delightful starters. Our swordfish and filet were cooked perfectly, with balanced flavors and well-proportioned servings. What elevated the experience even further was watching Skogen's remarkably talented young kitchen team--mostly in their late teens and early twenties--handle a very busy dinner service like seasoned professionals. They were focused and polished, yet still friendly and personable. A special shoutout to Dominic, Teagahn, Rosalinda, Lance, and Joseph, the executive chef and owner. The combination of amazing food, genuine hospitality, and an outstanding team made our anniversary dinner one we will not forget. Our entire experience at Skogen was exceptional. It is highly recommended and absolutely worth planning your visit around!
