Shhhhh, this is a local cafe that is tucked away in plain sight and not being local we found it on Yelp. This is a side enterance type of place where you come in and sign your name on the chalk board (we needed coaching on that step). Lots of food on your plate, served up quick and we enjoyed the reasonably priced breakfast. Omelets are big and fluffy, we loved this place. The best kept secret in town. This a great little diner! It's small and cozy with all of the best things you'd expect to find at a small family diner. It's inexpensive, fast, and good comfort food. My waitress from yesterday saw me waiting outside in my car and had my same table ready, remembered my order, and had me in business even before the place officially opens at 0700. She was attentive and there when I needed her but didn't just lurk and pester. Friendly, chill, great sense of humor but always working, not dilly-dallying. BREAKFAST: A+. Great little hide out cafe! Our waitress, Lorna, will be taking it over soon as the owner is retiring. If she maintains the same level of customer service that we experienced, we see great things. This was our first time here, and we've been looking for a new breakfast place for a while. To experience a little of everything, we ordered breakfast bowls. They come in sausage or bacon, but I got mine with ham, and my other party got sausage. The bowl comes with breakfast potatoes, breakfast gravy, eggs, cheese, meat of your choice and biscuits. The biscuits are great! Crispy and light on the outside and soft on the inside. Diced ham and eggs were great and cooked well. Not over or under. Potatoes are like ones you'd make at home; sliced and not hash brown style. Large enough to be split between two people or great for one really hungry person. A great deal at $11. We had coffee and water and the house coffee was great as well. Cold half and half brought out to the table. Coffee and water never got to even half empty. The customer service was fantastic from the moment we walked in the door. You put your name on the dry erase board and they'll come get you when a table is ready. It is a small place, maybe ten tables or so, so if you're in a rush, be patient, it's worth the wait. This will be our new breakfast joint. Definitely worth a try if you've never been read more

We got a late start but still wanted breakfast. Most places closed or stopped serving breakfast at 1pm, but we lucked out when we found out Ron's was open until 2. I was craving pancakes....and it was worth the trip to the West side. Sooo good. I wonder if the pancakes are cooked in a cast iron skillet- I love cast iron and loved these pancakes so that's my theory. It was all so good- the sausage gravy (and I don't even like gravy), the bacon and hash browns - both crisp and cooked to perfection. It was more than enough food- we left satisfied. Not a big selection, but his on all the favorites, plus daily specials. I had the meat omelet with chili over the top. My wife had corn beef hash. Stopped in here with the family for brunch. It's very small, but we didn't have to wait too long with our party of 8 at about 11am. It's very unassuming and homey. The chalkboard menus are great. We were traveling through Rapid City and went to Ron's based on the reviews. We loved it! The staff were all wearing masks and we sat in a separated booth which felt very safe considering COVID. I got the veggie omelette and hashbrowns. Wife got the liver and onions and we shared an order of the corn beef hash. Omelette was great. Hash browns lacked flavor or seasoning. Wife was not impressed with the liver. She said it was tough and lacked flavor, but chili was to die for. The corn beef has was amazing and I can't wait to go back and get it again. Coffee was ok, nothing great, but will do the trick on a cold day. This was our first time here and we will be back for sure. We were impressed with everything but the liver and onions.
