Tally's is a cute spot in Rapid City with yummy breakfast. I ordered the build your own omelet with Gouda, cheddar, onion, arugula & peppers. It came with a choice of toast and hash browns. The omelet was fluffy and full of the ingredients. The hash browns were nice and crispy and not greasy, which I appreciate. The sourdough toast was really good, just needed a little extra butter (IMHO). Our server was very attentive and nice. I'd go back for sure!

Stopped in for late breakfast and the food is incredible! Had the veggie omelette and Miga breakfast bowl and was very good. The pancakes are great! The service was very good as well. Plenty of street parking and outside seating available.

In town on a Sunday and yelped for a place for lunch. 30 minute wait so we sat outside patiently. Noticed a couple walk in and get seated immediately and was confused. Asked the hostess why they were seated before us, she stated they wanted to eat outside. Of course that option was never given to us. We did mention to her that my husband needed to eat right away due to medical issue. We were finally seated and waiter took our order. My husband had a few questions and the waiter stated " are you from the north east". Don't think it was a compliment. Ordered ice tea never arrived had to request again. Waiter said sorry I forgot about it. I ordered the Cuban sandwich which was pretty good and tasty. My side was a fresh salad. My husband ordered a hamburger which was spot on. Served with seasoned fries well cooked.

Excellent Restaurant! Three of us had breakfast last Friday. My wife had the gluten free blueberry pancake, egg and bacon and loved it! I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was wonderful! Crunchy steak covered with a delicious milk gravy! So yummy! Our daughter had the duck confit breakfast and absolutely loved it until she tried the duck liver. To say the least, she was not a fan of the duck liver. Some people may love it, but next time she would ask the restaurant to save the liver for someone else who might appreciate it more than she would. She would gladly swap the liver for more duck meat though any day of the week! Wonderful atmosphere to spend the day eating and drinking in! Great place!!

We stopped here for breakfast, and were not disappointed. The breakfast BLT was served open faced on fresh sourdough bread with Gouda cheese, crisp bacon, tomatoes, arugula and an egg cooked to order, drizzled with balsamic. The flavors and textures combine to create the perfect bite. If you're on your way through, stop and enjoy the downtown atmosphere and delicious food that is off the beaten track.

Tally's is my favorite breakfast place when I'm able to go out. They have the best eggs benedict and of course I don't go without getting a mimosa. My husband and I don't get away much especially for breakfast or brunch, but when we do, This is our top choice.

Can't decide and if you like to be surprised, go for the INDECISION MENU.

If you only have 1 meal in Rapid City, you must come here. We were here for dinner, lucky for us, there was one that just opened us. The menu looked fantastic, we couldn't decide what to have but then we saw "indecision menu". That peaked our interest and asked about it. We were told we get what the kitchen sends out. We love the idea of being surprised by the chefs. We tell our server our restrictions e.g. nuts, cheese etc and they take it from there. Some items the kitchen creates won't be in the menu or other dishes with some improv. I love this idea! It gives the chefs in the kitchen room to play and create. For us, it's a surprise - like Christmas morning! We chose the 4-course menu and my husband chose the wine pairing service. Our first course was a pulled pork bun - describing my meal does not do it justice. Second course was a salad with fried brie, fig, grapefruit wedge, tomatoes - not to be found on the menu. Third course was duck l'orange, the sear on the skin, the meat - so much flavor and so tender. Fourth course was a biscon steak with difference sauces but the star was the marrow butter! All the wines that were brought with each course complimented each dish perfectly. I have pictures of our meal, feast your eyes.

We stopped for lunch and had the gf hot beef sandwich, gf alfredo, gf pancake special, and the chicken fried steak. Everything was delicious. The alfredo was especially good, you can taste the fresh garlic and the gf noodles were so good they were hard to tell the difference from conventional noodles. The sandwich was probably the best hot sandwich I have had in years. The gf pancake had good flavor but was a bit flat and chewy. Partner said the chicken fried steak was delicious.

Buffalo Hanger Steak and eggs for $26. I ordered medium rare. My first time, will not order it again.

Food is average and pricey. When we came in no one greeted us. The hostess was not there. The waiters just look at us standing there but no acknowledgement whatsoever. The place is cramped. We were seated very close to the door, we felt the cold draft everytime people come in.

Our server Dawn was so sweet and attentive, we never had an empty water and she checked on us after tasting each course. Every bite was flavorful and fresh. Not too loud for a small dining room, we will definitely be back. Best meal we've had in rapid city in the two months we've lived here.

This is a very clean restaurant. The hostess was friendly and let us know there would be a 15-minute wait, but we were seated in just 5 minutes. It's a busy place with plenty of seating. We were served by the bartender, Rich, who was professional, attentive, and remembered our orders without writing anything down. He definitely deserves a raise! He managed tables and the bar with ease. The only downside was that the restaurant seemed understaffed. It took about 10 minutes to get someone's attention for the check and to go boxes. Other than that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back.

A warm welcoming store with cookie aromas in the air! We went into this lovely little store and was greeted by a super nice young lady who was busily making cookies. But The Cookie Shop in downtown Rapid City aims to change that perception. This locally owned, cookie-centric bakery operated under the Mary's Mountain Cookies moniker until a recent name change, but everything else about the shop has remained the same. The storefront is tucked underneath an unlabeled black awning beside the local legend Tally's Silver Spoon. Inside the single-room space, shelves of ingredients and stainless steel industrial baking equipment stretch all the way back. Christmas lights are strung from the ceiling, and the deep purple and forest green walls are minimally decorated with mountain-y tchotchkes. The blackboard counter is chalked with a Mt Rushmore-themed mural, and each cookie variety has a Sharpie-on-parchment paper description. I stopped by The Cookie Shop on a weekday morning, and I ordered right away. Across all the cookies, the dough was chewy with a dynamically rich flavor. Our far-and-away favorite was the Cookies 'N Dream -- Oreo buttercream sandwiched between two Oreo-based cookies. You wouldn't be alone in mistaking the thick, creamy frosting for ice cream, and the hockey puck size of each component felt like a sophisticated whoopee pie. But don't sleep on the more toned-down offerings. The Hopscotch (oatmeal-chocolate chip with buttscotch swirls and sugar crystals) paired solid flavors with dynamic texture, while the Americano (chocolate chip with espresso-infused dough) traded sweetness for decadence. Even the day-old leftovers far exceeded most bakeries' freshest of offerings. The service was friendly and efficient, and we were directed around the corner to the sister shop, Speed Goat Express, for coffee. The most expensive cookie varieties clocked in below the $4 mark (hence, comparable to Starbucks, Panera, or Crumbl). But the quality was god-level; it would be no exaggeration to rank The Cookie Shop's creations among the best cookies I've ever eaten, full stop.
