If you want to feel like a local, then eat where they eat. This place is family owned and welcoming. The minute you walk in, you are greeted with a big smile. My party of three were seated fairly quickly. The interior decor is simple and basic: wooden tables and chairs. A couple of family pics on the wall. Food came in very promptly and it was delicious. Everything on our plates was fresh. The reason why not getting 5 stars is because coffee needs improvement. Too watery for my taste. This is a must when visiting. read more

Biscuits and gravy were not good. Gravy lacked flavor and was extremely poor. Too much pepper... Its like the cook did not know how to make real gravy and just threw in pepper to make up for it.. Bacon overcooked and burnt. Coffee lacked flavor and was weak. Egg whites on requested over medium eggs werent cooked and were runny. Staff was friendly. Dining room overcrowded layout. Prices were extremely high for the poor quality of food. Add to that a 15-20 minute wait and the results are that this local couple will not be back. We've lived in Rapid City for 10 years and never heard of this place; now we know why. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because of the staff. read more

This morning a Fairmont Diner staff member and a man identified as manager gave me contradictory information about whether it is wheelchair accessible. One said there's a "step" at the entrance; the other seemed not to know. FACT: a step greater than a half-inch is considered a barrier (Federal law: ADA 1990) and requires a ramp, curbcut, or elevator/lift. Consequently I will not risk patronizing any Title III public facility until accessibility is established. read more

Grease is the main ingredient in all of their menu items I think! Took our grandchildren here for lunch and they ordered a bacon cheeseburger however had to remove the greasy bacon because it was so disgusting and under cooked and then ..... in addition, their grilled hamburger buns were so greasy that it was actually quite astonishing to eat in a restaurant that serves such heavily saturated greasy food, including the french fries and the hashbrowns. To top it all off, the soft drinks were over two dollars each and for what we paid for our disgusting meal, we could have eaten at The Colonial House. What an Extreme disappointment this place is. Also we left a 3/4 of each meal on the table. And these were hungry kids when we started!! The food was THAT inedible!! There were lots of flies buzzing around. Seeing the few positive reviews on this app is proof that you could not base your dining decision solely on the reviews because they've got to be rigged!!! read more

Went in ordered drinks. Took 20 minutes for drinks. Would have left but limited on breakfast places to eat. Get our drinks ready to order 10 more minutes we get to order our food. Almost 35 minutes later we get our food after 3 large groups that came after us and ordered after us got their food. Food was cold tried telling.the waitress. Was blown off and ignored. All the food was heavily processed which considering it's a diner was disappointed. Considering half the chain restaurants you can get fresh everything and not liquid eggs. We need refills halfway through eating our cold food got up to stand at the counter for refills after trying to flag waitresses down for 10 minutes got blown off by 3 different members of staff because they were too busy. Finally get someone to get us refills after wandering away from the counter back to the table. Was delivered the wrong drinks they took them back brought us new drinks we asked to confirm if they were correct and the waitress slammed one glass on the table splashing me and told us we just needed to figure it out. After what seemed like ages we finally got our ticket and got to leave. 0/10 will not be back and will recommend people to NOT GO THERE unless you want bad service and bad food. read more
