Walked in with a large group during the weekend and got sat and served fairly quick for being so busy. Food was great portions and tasted great after a long days ride!!! A must stop if passing by for a great place to people watch, have good food, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Just like the sign says--biggest and best burgers in the Hills! The burgers are awesome, the fresh-cut fries are perfect, and the service and atmosphere make this a must-stop whenever you're out cruising around the Hills.

Speed, taste, friendliness and a great view! We had a party 12, food came out fast and was soo good! Burgers, Philly Cheese steak, fries...all were super! Bathrooms are port-a-potty's, but we're clean!

Fun place for a burger and beer…read more Food in Deadwood is not for gourmands, so save yourself the time and money and go to Mustang Sally's for a straightforward meal. They even have a full bar! This is a sports bar, and they have the cool option to have a half portion of an appetizer instead of fries for a $3 upcharge. My husband was delighted to be able to have fried mushrooms as his side. The kids and husband had milkshakes, and they were made quickly, and everyone loved them. They have a bunch of local beers. I enjoyed my Rapid City made beer and enjoyed a sip of my husband's Spearfish beer. I had a burger, which was perfect. The fries were good. I also had some of my daughter's hot wings. They were meaty and spicy. I loved them, although I wish they had come with celery sticks. Not a big deal, though. The restaurant is decorated with old slot machines, which were fun for the kids to look at while we waited for our food.

After a long day of traveling, we called to place a takeout order about 30 minutes before closing. The employee who took our order, a woman in a green shirt, listened while my sister and I ordered, then let out a loud, frustrated sigh and said, "Ugh... is that it then?" Her tone made it very clear that our order was an inconvenience. When I arrived to pick up and pay, I stood at the counter much longer than I should have, and it became obvious I was being ignored. The woman in the green shirt who had taken our order made eye contact with me multiple times but continued to act as if I wasn't standing there. There were three employees behind the counter, yet none of them acknowledged me. The only person who finally came over to help was a kind woman who had been sweeping on the other side of the restaurant. She stopped what she was doing because no one else would. I have 13 years of waitressing experience, so I completely understand how frustrating last-minute orders before closing can be. However, that's never an excuse to treat paying customers with disrespect. We called before closing, were polite throughout the interaction, and simply expected basic customer service. If taking an order 30 minutes before closing and acknowledging a customer at the counter is too much to ask, then maybe customer service isn't the right fit. Being busy is understandable. Being rude and pretending customers don't exist isn't. Needless to say, we won't be back.

My wife ordered the Chicken Primavera with gluten free penne, featuring grilled chicken, pesto, and carrots. It was excellent and easily the standout dish of the evening. I had the grilled salmon, which was cooked well and was also very good. As always, we put restaurants through a bit of a stress test. My wife has gluten and dairy allergies, while I manage Alpha Gal syndrome, a tree nut allergy, and diabetes. The kitchen was able to accommodate the gluten free pasta request, which we appreciated. The atmosphere is one of the restaurant's biggest strengths. The historic building and the old photographs covering the walls make for a fun dining experience and really add to the character of the place. Service was just okay. Nothing was wrong, but it also wasn't particularly memorable. One thing worth knowing before you go: the restaurant adds a 4% surcharge for credit card payments, so if you'd rather avoid the extra fee, bring cash. Overall, we will probably pick something else a try if we return to Deadwood. Worth it if you are heading there just for the historic atmosphere. Oh so it is a restaurant, where you are supposed to be able to order food correct?!…read more So, whoever may be attempting to order, place an order, be prepared for rude, I mean very rude service, at least from the bar. The other waitress and waiters had smiles and polite, seemed to be anyway. I wanted to let someone know about the first time interaction I've ever had with your restaurant. It's hailing out, so I called to see about placing an order, I have no problem on waiting. I called and was greeted with, No, I'm not doing a to go order, as he's hanging up on me. You could hear, to dam busy for a to go order. So, I walked over, only to see whole lot of empty chairs. I sat down at the bar, he didn't know who I was, no possible way he knew who I was. But was thrown a menu. Within a two minutes of sitting down, he was able to take my order. But, I began to place the order of a full rack please?! (Heard so much about them ribs.) I was immediately greeted with "yeah what sides." Sorry, didn't realize there was sides that came with it in my head. I asked "oh sorry, where are the sides". Where he then tells me " maybe read here." Wow, was my response where he grabbed my menu, beyond shocked at this point. I stood up and began to walk away. I got up and I asked him, are you the one that answered the phone?! He said "yup, and please don't come back." As two other guests are sitting there had their dinner interrupted by this unfortunate incident, let me know and stated, "yeah he's a dick". This is how yall do business?! I wouldn't like to think so. I'm not here for a vacation but, for work. However, a numerous amount of people are. He made it very clear on how any one attempting to order food is treated at your facility. I understand, people have bad days but, that was truly uncalled for. The disrespect for attempting to order food at a restaurant. Wasn't asking for anything for free, definitely paying. I know this may fall on deaf ears but, I did ask for a manager below. The lady, a supervisor only for the bottom part, very kind, heard the whole thing and asked me to please write this out on a piece of paper. Thank you ma'am, hopefully this will reach someone.
