I loved that mine had those delightful dark cocktail cherries. The burger with bacon was excellent, as were the hand-cut fries (although I was disappointed that they didn't do truffle fries, especially since I could smell the truffle oil on the next-table-over's flatbread). I got a side salad with homemade blue cheese dressing that was generous with the cheese. They even provided our son a side of carrots and cucumbers with some ranch dip--he loved it! Good vibes and enjoyed the display of guitars! I did wish that they had had booths available, since our toddler was quite tired and we ideally wanted to hang out for longer while he took a snooze.

We waited probably 20 minutes to be able to order our food since the waitress didn't come by our table often. Then after ordering, we waited 45 minutes for our food to come. I ordered the regular burger with grilled onions and jalapenos. The waitress didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, but when it came it was well done. I would have ordered a medium well if given the chance, so if you don't want it well done make sure to say something! The fries were really good however. I probably wouldn't go back but there aren't many restaurant options nearby.

After a long day of traveling, we called to place a takeout order about 30 minutes before closing. The employee who took our order, a woman in a green shirt, listened while my sister and I ordered, then let out a loud, frustrated sigh and said, "Ugh... is that it then?" Her tone made it very clear that our order was an inconvenience. When I arrived to pick up and pay, I stood at the counter much longer than I should have, and it became obvious I was being ignored. The woman in the green shirt who had taken our order made eye contact with me multiple times but continued to act as if I wasn't standing there. There were three employees behind the counter, yet none of them acknowledged me. The only person who finally came over to help was a kind woman who had been sweeping on the other side of the restaurant. She stopped what she was doing because no one else would. I have 13 years of waitressing experience, so I completely understand how frustrating last-minute orders before closing can be. However, that's never an excuse to treat paying customers with disrespect. We called before closing, were polite throughout the interaction, and simply expected basic customer service. If taking an order 30 minutes before closing and acknowledging a customer at the counter is too much to ask, then maybe customer service isn't the right fit. Being busy is understandable. Being rude and pretending customers don't exist isn't. Needless to say, we won't be back.

The service was friendly and fast for us, but we had some others in our group that came about 20 minutes later during the dinner rush. They waited a lot longer than us so I recommend getting there by 5:30pm or earlier for dinner. I had the hamburger and fries basket. Both tastes good but the Swiss cheese was more of a melted liquid cheese than a slice. It reminded me of mayonnaise. The meat patty was as expected the taste and texture meant it was likely not freshly made but perhaps with some filler or a frozen patty. The bun and veggies inside were good. Prices were $10-20 depending on if you ordered a kids meal or adult meal. The location is nice as you can watch the street show or at least be near it. Fun diner ambience.

My wife ordered the Chicken Primavera with gluten free penne, featuring grilled chicken, pesto, and carrots. It was excellent and easily the standout dish of the evening. I had the grilled salmon, which was cooked well and was also very good. As always, we put restaurants through a bit of a stress test. My wife has gluten and dairy allergies, while I manage Alpha Gal syndrome, a tree nut allergy, and diabetes. The kitchen was able to accommodate the gluten free pasta request, which we appreciated. The atmosphere is one of the restaurant's biggest strengths. The historic building and the old photographs covering the walls make for a fun dining experience and really add to the character of the place. Service was just okay. Nothing was wrong, but it also wasn't particularly memorable. One thing worth knowing before you go: the restaurant adds a 4% surcharge for credit card payments, so if you'd rather avoid the extra fee, bring cash. Overall, we will probably pick something else a try if we return to Deadwood. Worth it if you are heading there just for the historic atmosphere. It's a great stop if you're spending time in Deadwood.

The other waitress and waiters had smiles and polite, seemed to be anyway. I wanted to let someone know about the first time interaction I've ever had with your restaurant. You could hear, to dam busy for a to go order. So, I walked over, only to see whole lot of empty chairs. I sat down at the bar, he didn't know who I was, no possible way he knew who I was. But was thrown a menu. Within a two minutes of sitting down, he was able to take my order. But, I began to place the order of a full rack please?! (Heard so much about them ribs.)
