My son and I stopped in at about 6 o'clock on a Tuesday a week and a half before Bike Week. My son had the Inferno and I had the Mushroom Berger. The -/2 pound burgers came out plump and juicy. Typical bar food here. The menu has a good selection. I ordered French dip that was a little over cooked, but happy it wasn't fatty!! The au jus sauce was really good to dip into. The fries are thick & seasoned well! Service was fast & friendly. Although they don't like to deviate from the menu! It will come as advertised! We parked in the back lot & walked through the back door. There was a large table of 15 bikers finishing their meal & another couple dining in. They have plenty of seating. We went there for supper on a Friday night at 5:30. We Walked in sat down at a table and waited for some to greet us or let us know someone would help us. The waitress survived the table of 4 right behind us did not even look are way. It was not busy maybe 10 people in the restaurant. We sat there for about 10 minutes the waitress looked our way but still didn't acknowledge us. So we got up and left!!! I would not recommend this place. We got there, granted, pre-Sturgis but already busy in town overall. We sat outside but let a young man working inside that we were out there. He said he'd let our waitress know. Waited 10 minutes or so and saw wait staff delivering food to other customers by the young man who told us he'd let the waitress know we were there. No acknowledgement from him and no waitress appeared. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we waited another 10 minutes. Went inside, saw the same young man. Asked him if it would be better/quicker if we took a table inside. He said, 'Yeah, probably.' So we went to the back of the restaurant in the bare area. There were several open tables so we grabbed one that had just been wiped down by, maybe a busboy but thinking it was the manager. Made eye contact but that was the extent of the interaction as he, from that point on, did everything he could to disavow us. We waited about 5 minutes until our waitress came around. Given that we were hungry, we put our order in right away figuring the way things were going, the food service might be as slow as what it took to even be acknowledged. While we were waiting for our food, it didn't get any busier from where we were and what we could tell. However, in that time, three more couples came in; two of which sat in a booth while the other couple sat at a table in front of us. Those two guys happened to be 'bikers' while the other couples weren't. At least not obviously anyway. Funny thing is, we are bikers but not obvious or looking like stereotypical bikers. That said, the same guy who chose to ignore us was all about getting and tending to all the new arrivals. And then another group came in, a group of six elderly folks. We're in our 60's so when I say elderly, I mean older than us. They sat right behind us. Same thing, the guy that ignored us was all over that table too. At that point, our food was served. It was good enough. It gets a 3 out of 5 but that was because we were so hungry, I'm sure. After our meal, it took a while to get out of there. We asked Mallorie for our check and it took 10 minutes to get it. Put the card down right away but it was another 10 minutes before she came back around to cash us out. All said, like some of the other reviews indicated, if you're not in a hurry and want to risk falling on the bad side of the busboy/manager, this is the place to go. It seemed they had no interest in service or welcoming guests so I suggest if you don't want to do that as part of your job then maybe find something else to do for a living. From what I could see, the owners/managers don't respond to any of the reviews, positive or negative, so maybe they just don't care? The food was really good, but the service was really questionable. Went in for breakfast on May 27, 2021. Server was not attentive not only to us, but two other tables near is. Had to stand up & waive coffee cups for refills. The other tables had to get up and get the salt n' pepper that they had asked for. Never checked back to see if the food was okay or if we needed anything. Acted like she didn't want to be there. Hopefully this server receives more training. Was so happy to be in Sturgis and to find a really good restaurant with really good food during the crazy time of rally week. I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich and was incredibly surprised to find out that it was the real deal. Delicious slow cooked tender pulled pork on a toasty bun, simple yet delicious. Hubby and I were passing through and stopped in for breakfast. I ordered the Taco omelet which was yummy. It is a hearty omelet, made with three eggs, that has fresh grilled peppers, onions and well seasoned taco meat. It is served with a side of sour cream and salsa. Food was alright, I ordered the Jalapeno Bacon which I tasted no difference in, but granted the waitress may have put in my order incorrectly since she forgot other things with our order but I didn't ask I was a bit too hungry after the wait to really care. If i could i would give negative stars. Went 3-17-23, bartender was nice but very slow and wanted us to leave so she could go home, it was 730PM. Its not why the place gets this bad review though, i went the next morning on 3-18-23 for breakfast Server was rude and im sure he didnt want to be there. They clearly dont wipe down anything from the tables to salt and pepper shakers, etc. Maybe they need to get some employees that actually want to be there and ones that clean too. Went to have breakfast today but they quit serving at 11 am. I don't understand that but it is what it is. So we had a couple bloody marys which were very good and cheap. Didn't get a chance to try the food since it took 15 minutes to get a server to take our order. 25 minutes later, the food hadn't come and our server had disappeared. Asked another server to help and they found our food at the kitchen window cold. The place was about 25% full so it certainly wasn't a crowd issue. Wish this place would have more consistency. I've been here a handful of times and have had some decent experiences. Unfortunately my recent visit was not so great. Bartender was not very friendly. Food was horrible. It was cold and undercooked. She never came back to ask if I needed another drink. Told her the chicken had a funny taste and instead of apologizing she told me she was going to have to try as saying I was lying. Still made me pay for a meal I didn't eat. I ordered a chicken strip basket and some fries to go, had a bloody mary while I waited. The bloody mary was super good. The bartenders where super sweet and very attentive. My food came out hot and fresh. I was impressed with how large the chicken strips where and how many you got. For 10 bucks it was a steal! I will for sure be coming back for more chicken tenders! The wife and I jumped in the minivan in search of some good biker bar food. We found it here! It has a very unique atmosphere, that is far from pretentious. You feel like you're eating in a huge motorcycle garage. Loved it! My wife had a French Dip sandwich. She was amazed at how tender and tasty the beef was. The bun was a perfect combination of a soft inside with a slightly crunchy outside crust. Perfect for soaking up some au jus, yet strong enough to hold it all together. I had a big juicy jalepeno burger. It was excellent. Only complaint would be that I had to ask for more jalepenos. That's only if I nit picked! But that doesn't bother me, 'cause I'm a big, bad, minivan driver!! I even won a few $'s on the keno machine. Bottom line, I think we will make this a regular stop on our yearly visits to the Black Hills! read more

I have been to Sturgis Bike Week 6 consecutive years now and this is the first time (2020) I have been to the Sidehack Saloon - at least that I can remember enough to write a review on it. I may have stopped for a quick drink before but we never stopped there to eat before. The service was OK, the waitress was friendly, and the food was good. It was not all that busy when we went, but the waitress really seemed to be preoccupied with other things - I don't know what they were but she took our order - then we saw her again when she delivered it and to give us the bill. I needed more napkins so I ended up getting them myself - not really a big deal, but you know, it would have been nice if she would have come back to ask if everything was OK and if we needed anything. I had the pulled pork and it was good. So the food was very good, the service was "ok" (we didn't have to wait for her to take our orders or for the bill - she seemed to time those things out perfectly - it was just the in between time that wasn't so great) The price???
