The young guy and young female servers were friendly and efficient! It's nice to have good help. The pickles on our cheeseburger are even good alone. The chicken sandwich was just okay, the tater tots were overdone, and the iced tea tasted off. Service was lacking. One person took our order and another brought the food, but no one checked on us after it was delivered, so there wasn't an opportunity to mention the tea or ask for anything else. Oh and we only received one fork...for four diners. One disappointment was that the restaurant doesn't have high chairs. In a family-oriented community like Sturgis, it's surprising not to have a basic accommodation for families with young children. Overall, it was an average lunch with a few shortcomings. The staff we did briefly interact with were all very pleasant. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out enough to make us eager to return.

The food menu is somewhat limited, but what we ordered was really good. I started with a non-alcoholic Lagunitas Hazy IPA, which was excellent. It had some refreshing fruity notes and was a great choice. I ordered the orange chicken. It was well done and definitely good, although it didn't quite have that "wow" factor. My buddy ordered the small nachos with added beef, and those were absolutely the way to go! The "small" size was huge, loaded with toppings, and packed with flavor. I sampled a few and would definitely recommend them. There wasn't any live music on Friday night when we visited, but it looks like they have live music fairly often throughout the week, which would be a fun bonus. Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. If you're in Custer, this is definitely a place worth checking out!

When the owner finally got the power on in the cabin it was beyond filthy. The bedding was covered in stains and dead bugs and had not been cleaned since last season in my opinion. We had to spend another half an hour trying to find the owners again to get clean bedding that they just dropped on the deck of the cabin in the elements for us to change. Both morning that we were there we were awoken to loud music at 6 coming from one of the permanent residents places. The pool was not filled and as clean as the bar was there was no way we were going to try and have a meal. The entire place is run down and in need of repairs.

We weren't hungry so we didn't order food. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and sat outside by the creek. Very enjoyable! We decided to return a couple days later and get the pizza. It was Sunday night so it wasn't crowded at all. The two staff members were great to chat with and hear about their lives, friends and how they ended up in South Dakota. It was a great conversation, and I wish those ladies the best. Oh, the pizza.... Very light crust (artisan) and excellent choices. We got 3 different ones and all were very tasty. My wife ordered the curry noodles with chicken, and I had the rum cured trout. Both dishes were excellent. The curry had great flavor without being overwhelming, and the trout was outstanding. It was one of the best fish dishes I've had in quite a while. As always, we arrived with a challenging list of dietary restrictions. My wife has gluten and dairy allergies, while I manage Alpha Gal syndrome, a tree nut allergy, and diabetes. Our server, Jessica, was knowledgeable about food sensitivities, took the time to answer our questions, and made sure we were comfortable with our meal choices. That attention to detail was very much appreciated. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, and welcoming. Families with children would feel right at home here, but it also works well for couples or groups of friends. I probably wouldn't choose it for an important business dinner, but for a casual meal with great food, it's an excellent choice. Highly recommended if you're in the Spearfish area. We'd definitely return.
