One person took our order and another brought the food, but no one checked on us after it was delivered, so there wasn't an opportunity to mention the tea or ask for anything else. Oh and we only received one fork...for four diners. One disappointment was that the restaurant doesn't have high chairs. In a family-oriented community like Sturgis, it's surprising not to have a basic accommodation for families with young children. Overall, it was an average lunch with a few shortcomings. The staff we did briefly interact with were all very pleasant. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out enough to make us eager to return.

The service is all order at the bar and then they'll bring the food to you from the disconnected kitchen. I ordered the Orange Chicken Bowl and my husband got their Chipped Beef Special. It was out to our table in about 10 minutes, and everything was fresh and piping hot! The orange chicken could've been mistaken for the packages they sell at Trader Joe's or Costco (and I mean that in the BEST sense - I LOVE those brands of orange chicken!), but the broccoli was obviously fresh and still had a nice crisp to it while being just the right amount of tender. The serving sizes are huge and we weren't able to finish both meals. There are pool tables inside that are extraordinarily expensive, so we only played about two games. There was extremely loud live music we weren't expecting the second night, so we sat outside on the patio to try and get a way from the volume, but we still returned for the ambience and the quick service.

Stingers is owned by a group of family and friends, who also happen to be founding members of D.O.B.E.R. These Brother Stingers are a charitable society of retired military and first responders, and are the nicest folks you'll ever meet. You are served by owners, and can hang with the owners. The selection of beer, wine and spirits is second-to-none, and is probably the most reasonably priced booze in the area . While you're there, pick up a metal sign, or have a custom one ordered. The ambience is like your hometown bar, and is clean... including the bathrooms. Yes, I said it. Support local. Support folks with positive family and community values, even if they come in a rough, leathery vest and mc boots. Buy a beer and have a safe time at Sturgis.

When the owner finally got the power on in the cabin it was beyond filthy. The bedding was covered in stains and dead bugs and had not been cleaned since last season in my opinion. We had to spend another half an hour trying to find the owners again to get clean bedding that they just dropped on the deck of the cabin in the elements for us to change. Both morning that we were there we were awoken to loud music at 6 coming from one of the permanent residents places. The pool was not filled and as clean as the bar was there was no way we were going to try and have a meal. The entire place is run down and in need of repairs.

The ham I ordered with the best pancakes I ever had was delicious, but at more than $3 for a skinny slice the size of a beer coaster I won't order it again. I did appreciate the quiet atmosphere, but suspect I encountered some of the reasons why this restaurant was so dead.

It was Sunday night so it wasn't crowded at all. The two staff members were great to chat with and hear about their lives, friends and how they ended up in South Dakota.
