Every time I've been there it's amazing... steak tips, burgers, wings and nice and hot fries!!

Walked into Bob's Silver Tavern at 11:30 pm, stomachs growling and expectations low--because let's be real, how good can a midnight burger be from a one-man show? Answer: mind-blowingly good. The bartender--who also happened to be the cook--was holding it down solo with one gorgeous, glass eye and zero stress. Guy's a legend. Somehow, in between pouring cold beers and running the bar, he whipped up the best damn burger we've had in ages. Fried egg? Check. Melted cheese? Absolutely. Softest bun that's ever graced our mouths? You bet. And just when we thought we'd maxed out our luck, he handed us fresh churros to go. At midnight. Who does that? Great service. But not great tasting draft beer. Doesn't seem fresh or maybe not clean glasses? Idk. But just taste weird.

Lead, a small mining community, we preferred it over Deadwood in a heartbeat. Bob was away visiting his Dad in Rapid City and had left Larry and Linda in charge of Food and Bev. The food was A-OK but we have been told when Bob's cooking it's more than that. The drinks were strong. It's a local bar with booths, tables and bar seats. We took control of the jukebox and played a slew of mining related songs while Linda kept the drinks coming. It's old skool here so manage your expectation and leave your granola at home. Let's face it. Finding a place to eat which is not packed has enough servers is a long long shot. After seeing our favorite places full... good for them... we saw a sidewalk sign saying breakfast served till 11. We quickly pulled into the parking lot and entered the bar. The place was very clean and we were greeted right away The menu is basic and very few items but what a taste! I had the kahula and baileys French toast. So good no syrup necessary. So tasty Hubby. The main thing to know about this place is they serve food until midnight. Being here for the rodeo in a town that rolls up the sidewalks at 8pm, this is great info to have! Food is pub fare, but good. The wings got rave reviews from our group and were suggested to us by other patrons. We also had the chicken strips, which were really good and a burger which was also good. The staff was slammed but super nice and efficient. read more

f you had a ZERO STAR rating I would give them that!!! We Ordered Door Dash and waited for an hour only to get a call from door Dash to tell us that the driver showed up to pick up the order and was told that Bob's wasn't doing any more door dash orders for the evening!!! Never mind the fact that we ordered it an hour earlier. Wouldn't give these people my business ever again! Talk about absolutely terrible customer service!!! read more

Best steak tips/chislic in the state! The beer is cold and cheap and the fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Visiting here from Montana and it was a hard time finding a good hamburger today!!! Well we tried many places and all were closed... He was working alone, 25 people in there ordering beer and cheeseburgers... Larry did an awesome job!!!!! I would really recommend this place!!!! read more

Linda is the worst bartender ever , she has a horrible addatude, I ordered food and she got my order wrong and had a major addatude. Threw my credit card at me and then when I called to tell them my order want right I could hear her in the background telling the owner just to hang up and forget about my order. Bob wasn't around during this visit, but the burger and drinks did the trick. The place really feels like Lead, and that says a lot. The mushrooms on the burger were handled with finesse. It's under construction just now. Don't let that put you off. read more

We have always wanted to bar hop in Lead, SD and with this one stop we hit (I think) all of them on Main Street. The sign said "since 1936" or something around that time, so you know it's going to have story after that many years. We went in with a local, so she knew half the bar and we got more of the local flavor -she also just informed us that we had just missed Saturday night dart league (maybe not a ton to do in this sleepy mining town just up from Deadwood?). We bet on the price of 2 microbrews, a bud light draft and a pepsi and I lost when I said around $14-it was $9.50 - so...... cool, little local spot with history and cheap drinks...what more do you want in a bar? oh yeah, you can also buy bottles right there in the bar-See you there read more

Friendly service and central location make this a tough spot to pass up for a quick drink. We stopped in here after a day of exploring the town and though we only stayed for one drink, the prices were cheep and the bartender was quick and friendly. read more

Five stars for having double corndogs on the menu. Bob seemed to be trying not to laugh at me when I, a grown woman, ordered a Shirley Temple. Fair enough. The dude who helped me pan for gold at the museum across the street came in for a drink after the museum closed, so you know it's a good place to hang with the locals. read more

Great local bar! Present owner is 3rd owner in almost 90 years. Not a fancy joint, mostly locals in here, but worth a look. Owner is very friendly and hospitable; on my visits he is bartender, cook, and server. The beer is way cold...the way it was meant to be. Burgers are some of the best in the area! Be advised they are not the trendy gargantuan, burst-at-the-seams burger they are reasonably sized and very reasonably priced...did I already mention tasty? They also have a limited menu of other items I.have not tried. This is a throwback bar...cold beer, quiet, with great burgers. Give it a try IF you want something different.
