Glad we made the stop before we left SD on our road trip back home to Texas. The Prairie sour beer was refreshing and went down well! While they are doing some construction and it is a Monday afternoon, the atmosphere was super chill and there was a nice breeze we enjoyed while talking in all the metal art, old equipment, etc. There is plenty to see and room to roam. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about their beers on tap. We're already hoping to make it sometime in the future for rally to experience FTS in all its Glory! read more

I am in the cabins and already on day three and even though I've contacted maintenance three times and the front desk twice I still don't have no hot water in the cabin which has a restroom & shower. Not much use for a restroom i& shower if you have no water pressure or hot water, we stayed here last year too, but it was just me and my brother, but the table and the chairs that are advertised in each room were never provided for either one, and this one too. It seems the staff here just does enough so the people renting the place don't complain and . They don't provide what you're told you're going to get. I'm still sitting here in a premier cabin with no hot water. Day three people don't pay the extra. my buddies in the cabin next to me He has the same thing, there's a gap between his AC unit big enough to put his hand through and the AC doesn't work and even after multiple notifications to the maintenance guy who is literally right across the dirt road from us there's no action. We notified the supervisor at the front desk. Still no action. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Michael, please help. This is my last stay here. Buffalo Chip here I come. Don't get me wrong, I would love to stay at the throttle more than any other place because it's really nice. But at the same time I feel like we should get what is advertised and if not, I feel like the staff should do their best to make sure it's in a timely manner. Wow! This place is so cool. We came during the day time before Sturgis so it wasn't busy yet so we really got to see how much detail and thought was put into this build out. The bar is huge and there is something new to see and admire with every turn. So many stories I'm sure go along with each piece of art, furniture, equipment, etc. I would love to know! First time to go to Sturgis Bike Rally. We stayed at Full Throttle. We enjoyed the concerts and food. Our favorite thing was going to the Saloon every night to listen to the bands. The best bartender (Raven) was there every night. She was great!!! Hope to see her again next year. read more

There are so many cool and unique things there. It's almost like some sort of an art museum.

It was 2015 when we were there. 2 years before the love of my life passed. It was what he always wanted to do and so glad we made the trip when he was physically able to go. What can I say. The place was huge and had a lot going on to keep you busy. Either meeting new friends at the bar, listening to the bands on stage or taking part in many of the daily activities that kept you on property all week. And and even though the cabins were " no frills " they were perfect to turn in and rest up for another fun active upcoming day. Beer was always ice ice cold. Food wasn't bad either. We stayed on site the whole rally except for one day we rode. Other than the bartenders being a little witchy bitchy, I totally recommend this place. Great music, great fun with great fun atmosphere, the coldest beer this side of the eastern shore and meeting new friends is the reason why we plan on going back ( God willing ) every rally. You'll definitely want to come and experience this place so you can make great memories for yourself. read more

I came here during Sturgis - so my point of view might be a bit skewed because it's crazy that time of year. First of all, their new location is about a 15 minute ride out of downtown Sturgis. Compared to where it used to be (close to Sturgis), it's out of the way now. Not so great when you mix bikers drinking with driving on a two lane highway outside of town. When you drive into their parking lot, the architectural elements of this place are stunning. That's the first and main thing you notice I noticed. Giant funky biker-esque structures made of metal outside & more inside. When you walk in, there are multiple bars inside to choose from. This place is GIANT inside and in the outdoor backyard area. I'm not sure how they fill it up outside of the Sturgis action, because even then there was a lot of open space. The service is pretty fast & they did a great job staffing appropriately for Sturgis. We got our drinks quickly. My husband had raved about the Full Throttle & their old location. After coming to the new one here, so far out of the way from the main attractions at Sturgis, it just didn't have the same 'feel'. From the people who said the old location was dirty, you'll be happy to hear the new location is spotless and put together. They do a great job of keeping you entertained...For example, when we arrived there was a ripped topless man standing in a metal cage with a biker doing circles around him inside the cage. Pretty wow. We enjoyed walking the aisles of bikes, people watching, and shopping at the Sturgis pop-ups in their backyard. I do feel like it's a must see if you go to Sturgis. Why 3 stars then? I just didn't feel 'the heart' of this place. It felt too vast. Nothing stood out to give it 'oomph'. I'm always looking for a Sturgis stop with personality, heart, a dive, a story. That is a must try drink. It is Full Throttles moonshine, three types, mixed with cranberry juice and topped with sprite. Not sure why some of the negative reviews about the staff here? The lady waitresses were really nice and friendly helped me with finding me a hoodie and t shirt to wear along with my hoodie. Maybe some of the waitresses were caught off guard or busy doing something. This saloon is big on the inside and on the outside. They offer a full bar which includes beer, liquor, whiskey and moonshine they make. They do sale their own merchandise to the fans of all kinds or just someone wants a gift from Full Throttle Saloon. Ok, here is the deal. We came in from Nashville to hear our son play with Colt Ford Monday night. We are older so we heard Pat Travers was playing at Full Throttle. The door man said I have no idea where to find your tickets for VIP. We went to the outside bar and said we would figure it out. I asked the bartender if he could help us. Then it all started! He got the two right hand men of the owners, Senior and the accountant and it is so bad I forgot his name. They came and picked up paid our tab and drove us back stage, had us hang out with Pat Travers, then he had a server Nelly take care of us. She was incredible. She had to walk two hundred yards each time to serve us. This bar, these people are incredible amazing during bike week. No better service ever! read more

My sweets said it is going to blow our son's mind that I was ever in this bar...but hey, sometimes work and fun go hand in hand. This is the craziest bar and singlehandedly the most fun I've ever had so far in my lifetime. There is a burnout pit, you can drive your hog right in and there is tons of parking (although you should seriously think of getting a DD or cab.) The only down side is the port-a-potties, but with the size and location, there is only so much they can do. I woke up the next morning with tire chunks in my hair and under my nails and a whopping hangover. If I'm ever in the area again, this is a must stop. Strongly suggest going during Sturgis; you'll meet everyone and anyone from around the U.S. and beyond. read more

The only way to describe it is the ultimate biker bar,huge bar,cold beer,shots,and two live bands playing at the same time.Thats how big the place is. Okay, so the full throttle saloon....Hmmm, well although it was an interesting part of the whole Sturgis bike week thing, it by far wasn't the be all, end all of Sturgis like some of the hype goes. The inside of the main bar area is absolutely deafening with the band going, etc. it's so loud and distorted you can't even hear yourself think. However, once you can manage to get to the outside it's a different story. The goings-on in the outside area were actually pretty cool. From the motorcycle burnouts, to the flaunt girls show, it was much better to be outside! Sturgis bike week 2014 was my first time there in Sturgis for any reason. Although I will go back sometime, I think it's 50/50 that I would visit full throttle again. From the insanely loud noise inside, to the exorbitantly high price drinks I'm just not so sure. Gotta see the "freak Show"! We stopped at the Full throttle Saloon during the 75 anniversary Sturgis Motorcycle rally (2015). A trip to Sturgis is not complete without a stop at the FTS! We usually stop during the afternoon, so it's not quite as busy, but the people watching is still excellent. We stopped for a beer and got to see a bit of midget wrestling. We also got to see the guy who was hoisted off the stage, using the fish hooks that were impaled in his back (check out my photo). All this going on while people flew by overhead on the zip line. If you arrive early you can avoid the cover charges and see some good live music. Walking around the property you'll see years worth of cool collected junk used to decorate the bar. The people watching is fun, the waitress are scantily dressed, and the drinks are expensive ($5 beer), but it's like passing an accident on the freeway, you just gotta take a look! This bar is rocking! Has several bars in 1. When you enter we were greated by a live band in one of the bars. We continued to walk through and went into another bar that had music bumping! We walked through that and was in the main outside area that has several other areas to buy alcohol. They had a live taping going on of biker games where the female passenger was to see how far she could bite up on a hot dog. Anyway, the bar maids were all dressed in literally nothing and over all we enjoyed our time there. Once the rain started we ended up leaving to check out the other area bars. As someone who grew up with my family always attending Sturgis bike rally and stories I've heard about Full Throttle, made me super excited to come check the place out finally. We showed up a little late and Kim was about to shut down and leave, but kindly let me, my fiancé, and my blind grandma in and let us have a drink. She did a fantastic job describing the place to my grandma with her description words and told us a few stories. Had the best time being the only ones in there. So awesome. So FIRST time to Sturgis and Full Throttle Saloon. Check In was easy. How ever I got a shell shock when I went to get some food. 53.00 for chicken and fries, chicken on a stick and fries and 1 water. Omg. And it was just OK. I was very surprised by how few vendors on site as well. YES IM AWARE!!!!!! That it was burnt and opened in 2018. Wasn't impressed at all. Apples to apples The other place 7 miles away was much better. Food, drinks, and on site vendors. Sorry guys this place needs to do much better to get my business again. Sturgis Rally-Where do I begin. Paid $500 to camp in a fly infested sh.......t hole. Then paid $500 for wrist bands covering live music and entry/egress. I discover that non-campground customers of FT got to see the same live music for free. So what did we get for that $500? Everything about FT and Pappy Hoel was plain "dirty." A trip to "the Chip" clearly showed how bad FT really was. Gave Mr Ballard two years in a row. My advice to him? Spend less time making self-aggrandizing videos and more time on cleaning up your mess and take care of your paying customers. One good thing though. Bret Michaels was awesome. On the down side was Saliva whose lead singer is the most foul mouthed idiot I have ever seen or heard. He angered hundreds of attendees with his every other F word speeches between songs. read more

Sorry, unimpressed! To me lost the vibe of the old place. Seems all about the dollar. Drink costs are beyond unreasonable plus take a look at the attached picture of an $8 margherita that was minuscule (or which we had fun calling it a "thimble-rita". Add ice and it was lucky 4 sips and done. NOT GOING BACK. We expect to pay more for drinks during Rally but show respect and provide good drinks. Second year here... I had hopes after last year to see a major improvement as they had a whole year post "just opening our new location" to get their shit together! I kid you not... nothing new or updated since previous year. I do believe they managed to breed many more flys since previous year. The entertainment sucked and we paid a lot for the wristbands that no one ever checked. The concerts were free to anyone that happened to want to pay the outrageous prices to drink their very small drinks. We drank at the Chip a lot cheaper.. or anywhere else for that matter. My husband and I were there for FT's last Sturgis week. Yep, Sturgis 75th!! A few weeks after, it burned to the ground. We are so glad we did not skip this Sturgis Icon. We chose NOT to eat here due to how FILTHY the place was. Maybe they had stopped cleaning in preparation for the fire (whoop, did I say that...outloud?) It was definitely worth the ride out to it, the place is a Circus!! Complete with Midget-Mud-Wrestling, topless or almost topless bartenders, spectators flying across the Zip Line over the action below. It was a sight to behold. If they build a new one, we will definitely have to visit it when we do Sturgis again! Hopefully "New" will mean "CLEANER"!!! read more

Loud.....noisy .......much drunkenness ....tourist trap.......overall a HELL of a good time (at least once). Visited twice already on this visit, the diviest of all biker dive bars. Looks like the bar scene in Star Wars but the bartenders were a little better looking. $5.50 for 16oz cold bottle beer is not that high with plenty of enterainment and a TV show being filmed all the time. Luv it! read more

Pure Awesome'ness... If you are coming to the Sturgis Rally, you can skip the (now) main-stream downtown Sturgis Scene and just come here. You absolutly will not regret it. The Throttle has about everything, dancers, burnout pit, bars, tattoo parlor, concerts, a new zip line, and lots of booze. We make this a regular stop each year and it is just as much fun each and everytime. We have met Michael Balard (owner) as im sure many people have, and he is extremely nice to guests even thou you can see he is very busy. We will be back next year, and the following year. read more

I cant imagine what Full Throttle is like not during Sturgis---but we went a few times Sturgis 12', and it was a blast!! We LOVED it... Who cares how dirty it is-- its a freaking biker bar people..! We were there when the show was being taped, and my sweetest better half cornered Mike coming outta the bar so I could get my picture taken with him, and the cameras were right behind him... he was taked off guard but nice enough to let me take my picture with him, after all it WAS my birthday! We never ate, we just drank beer, and you dont come to Full Throttle expecting high class-- you come for the experience... We saw Tanya Tucker and Travis Tritt another night, the cover charge was extremely reasonable to get in for the concerts... we will be returning the next time we are in Sturgis..thanks Mike and Angie! read more

The TruTV show is great (covering, mainly, the week-long Sturgis Rally in of August each year, since the series started in 2009), the biggest issue I have now is, what are the ACTUAL HOURS OF OPERATION, and the 731 area code phone number on the Full Throttle website is a non-working number. Wikipedia article states the BAR is open 7 months every year, and the RALLY is only 10 days. The 10.00 cover charge was ONLY applied for ONE HOUR (as seen in the series) of the 2013 Rally! The BAR may indeed have a cover charge, however. read more

I actually expected them to be higher than they were so that was cool. Jesse, Michael and Angie are really awesome people that actually do care about their customers & employees. The whole staff has always been super friendly even when they were slammed with customers. This is a biker bar it's not ment to be clean. It's gritty, its dirty, theres naked girls, there's drunk people, its loud and it is fucking AMAZING! I cannot wait to see the new FTS and I know it's goin to be even better than before. Hundreds of acres & camping on site. Like a Phoenix riding from the ashes comes Michael & Jesse to build a biker paradise. For the real bikers not the wkend wannabes that cry over prices, dirt or having to pay in cash...I just can't even with those folks I'll never finish this and it's already long enough.
