Really cool history at this bar as it's the location where Wild Bill was murdered by Jack McCall. It's almost like a museum with the amount of historical artifacts and pictures. It fit the vibe of Deadwood perfectly. The bartender was supposedly new, but she was super sweet and made sure everyone was taken care of and having a great time. Visiting from out of town, walking the historical downtown area and came across while Bill's bar. Had a one man band coaxing people in the door which I thought was clever. Bar Tender was rude, bad attitude, and irritated over a question. Not to mention the one band man was so rude. Told us we were a son of a you know what because we didn't tip him walking out the door. Great atmosphere. Great bartender, she was attentive, knowledgeable, funny, honest, sweet to everyone who came in. Terrible person for a musician though. I was excited for live music, so planned to grab a beer or two at this bar because we could hear the music from outside. As we walked in, the musician started his break. Two hours later it was time for us to move on. As we walked out, the musician just started his next set... as we walked out the door, our smiles turned to being pissed off! He yelled at us for not tipping him. Called my husband a son of a bitch as he walked out the door. Sincerely, he is lucky he didn't get knocked out! If this was an attempt at humor, it wasn't funny. As we stood out front contemplating complaining, the musician was still yelling at my husband, and he did the same thing to others as they walked out, the music was terrible on top of it. There were several signs encouraging us to tip the musicians, but he never played while we were there. All he did while we were there was whine to the bartender about hoping he gets called back again to play at the bar and be snarky at the elderly patrons. read more

This a fun bar with a lot of history! I am one for experiences so I had to go in and check it out. It was pretty busy but the bartender was on it. The bar itself is somewhat limited on choices of liquor but the service and quality of the drink were great. I really enjoyed the historic aspect of the bar. While I was there a reenactment started on the street so I had bags with me and asked if it was okay if I left it there and the bartendar said no problem. There aren't a lot of places I would trust to leave my stuff but I definitely felt this was a place where I could do that. read more

The servers were fantastic. The food was pretty good. My family and I had the pulled pork, the Philly and nachos with meat. It was good for a quick bite before heading off to the tour of the original Saloon No. 10. That tour was incredible. The guy was like a walking history book. He was an excellent story teller. This place is a western bar on one side and a candy breakfast lunch place on the other side. The best of both worlds. We ordered food I got a broccoli cheese quiche with a toasted marshmallow latte. The doors were open so decided to frequent the stop where Wild Bill was actually shot. When we walked in there was no one in sight, so I thought I'd take a quick photo and out if no where a guy came out said "we're closed" I said oh okay. He replied and that's a donation for a photo in here. I laughed and thought he was kidding. He was NOT KIDDING and he pointed to a donation jar. I said 'no way' and giggled. This is the original spot where Wild Bill Hickock was murdered. I've stopped in a couple time for a beer just because well you have to ‍ They offer a full bar and a large variety of beer both National brands and locals. They even offer root beer on draft for the kids or kids at heart. If your plan is to hang out and drink I wouldn't suggest this establishment because it is very touristy and most likely to have families with kids stopping in and hanging out for a quick drink before their tour. Granted that is during the day at night it is exactly what you would expect for a bar in Deadwood at night and offers live music very often. read more

Disappointed after a long search of places to have lunch in deadwood. We searched on here and nothing really looked that great with all the restaurants having ok reviews. We settled here because the vibe was pretty neat and wanted to get some beer. We ended up getting an order of the mac n cheese and split a philly cheesesteak sub. We were unsure what to order but the bartender stated that the sub was pretty big and about the size of the menu so it sounded it was a good shareable size. Well, unfortunately when it came out, each of our halves were about the length of my pinky and super stingy on the meat. Nowhere near the size the bartender stated. Not even that tasty either. The mac n cheese was ok but they charged us more than what was stated on the menu. Definitely a rip off of a lunch. It's all the hype of the location. Would not return in the future. read more

They serve whiskey, rum, etc BUT no names you've ever heard of. They had a big plastic tub of beers on ice for $3.50, again NO beer you've ever heard of. We really wanted to stay and drink, but please... You have a liquor license, for Gawds sake, serve decent alcohol. I don't get it. read more
