This is a perfect stop to grab a few drinks and snacks while touring deadwood. We stopped in about 1 to kill some time before the shoutouts started on the square at 2. We headed to the bar to place our orders for siders, and a few beer flights (only $10 for 5 pours) along with a Bavarian, pretzel wings and chips and salsa. The bartenders were helpful and making selections and fun to talk to while we waited for our drinks. They gave us some extra pretzels to tide over the kids while we waited for our food order. The beers were all different with favorites being the Roberto suave, milk jugs and blue beaver. The pretzel was huge and a major I hit with our crowd and the wings were some of the best we had in our entire trip. This is a must stop while in deadwood!

Beers are amazing! The Naughty (Winter) & Spice Ale is fantastic and I LOVE that it's offered year round. Who doesn't love Christmas in May or July?!? The Blueberry Amber was fantastic as well. Juicy and malty and fruity. Just perfect. Our bartender was also so welcoming and friendly and gave us recommendations and let us sample a couple so we knew what to commit to.

Always the go-to place when we visit Deadwood. Been here at least 4x and service has always been excellent. Lily is very professional, knows her stuff and great with people. The place is clean, relaxed and classy. Great beer and wine options- with catchy fun names. He haven't been to their actual winery but we wilk for sure visit because all their wine and staff are exceptional. You can tell the passion they have with the product.

Horrible service. They had one guy working and he was an asshole to everyone so everyone left. Don't go here unless they have new staff.

The beer server was pleasant and a lot of fun to talk to, a chance to absorb some local color, the beers were ok.

Fun! Cute patio. Not the best service. Extensive wine collection. Beer was decent. Worth a revisit.

Bonus Stop, not on the Hop Passport (yet?)…read more I'm going to have to start with agreeing with another reviewer on the credit card policy. We prefer to pay cash with small businesses to keep them from having to pay credit card fees (or us for that matter, if the fees are passed on to the consumer) but that seems to be unacceptable here. I completely understand having a card on file for keeping a tab open but it makes zero sense to require a card when someone wants to pay cash. We ordered a flight and wanted to pay cash but were told they needed a credit card regardless, just in case. Just in case what? I'm paying for my order before I get it. I would then be free to leave when I choose without additional work for staff or, well, me. Especially since there is indeed a credit card fee here, since we were told the cash price on closing out exactly what we initially ordered - "just let me pay and be done with it" (quoting the hubs). I'd seriously rethink that policy. On to the beer, there were a couple of stand outs, including our favorites the Dark Lager & Mouse Trap. As well as middle of the road brews, falling in the 3 range. We loved the collabs. It's always great to see businesses support each other. There are pizzas on the menu that looked pretty interesting but, circling back to point 1, we were annoyed enough by the credit card requirement that we opted for 1 & done, unfortunately. Note: there's some awesome merch &, I believe, meat for sale. Super cool.

Popular place with a wide variety of choices for dinner--friendly and attentive service (if you…read moredon't see your server, ask another--they clearly work well as a team) and interesting decor. Starter and food, drinks, etc., are brought promptly to the table. This is exceptional in a highly popular tourist area. The food is good but could use a little improvement--the grilled mahi-mahi was good, but a little on the dry sauce and definitely needed a sauce. A couple of the dishes did have sauces, but fish is why most Creole restaurants like Brennan's will serve a sauce on the side, or a topping with butter such as Trout Almandine. It doesn't have to be a fancy sauce--the option of good ol' tartar sauce works. The grilled vegetables also needed a little more butter and seasoning. Carrots are good on their own; broccoli and cauliflower need a little cheese or butter and some seasoning to be loved. The IPA (Long John) was excellent. The beer cheese dip and soft pretzels were to die for; the chardonnay was passable. A great choice for dining in a VERY heavily traveled tourist destination. Get there early--it starts filling up fast and all the restaurants around Mount Rushmore close at 9.

All those flashy billboards along I-90 had us expecting something special from Firehouse Brewing…read moreCompany. Instead, we drove 75 miles for what turned out to be a disappointing and overpriced first-night meal in South Dakota. From the moment we walked in, something smelled "off." The service was mediocre at best, and the food was downright unappetizing -- barely edible. The prime rib was overcooked and desperately needed seasoning. The creamed corn tasted straight from a can, and the mashed potatoes were so dry they practically crumbled apart. No one at the table felt their meal was worth the stop. And the one thing everyone raves about? The famous house-brewed root beer. Unavailable. The substitute? "House strawberry lemonade" that tasted like Minute Maid with strawberry syrup mixed in. Seriously?! For a place with such incredible marketing and nonstop highway hype, the actual experience fell completely flat. Maybe it's time to light a fire under the cooks and servers, because this felt less like a legendary South Dakota meal and more like a red-hot disaster of a family dinner. I'd give 1-star for food but 5-stars for incessant marketing along I-90 There are truly much better options for your money in-town.
