Very nice selection of breakfast options. Service is fantastic and personable, and food arrives fairly quick and is delicious. Kind of a neat place, coffee is a bit lacking in flavor but a comfortable place to sit and enjoy.

I am so impressed by this little coffee shop! It is so cute and has an extensive coffee and food menu. This seems like a great place to study or relax! What I ordered: I went here twice and got a cappuccino the first time and drip coffee the second time. Both were great! I also bought a t-shirt because they were so cute (and only $11 which is a steal)! If you are in spearfish, you have got to check out common grounds!

We stopped in Spearfish on our way from Devils Tower to Rapid City. We were hoping for a good sandwich. Yelp to the rescue! Common Grounds had a great rating so we decided to go there. First of all Spearfish is a very cute city. So I'm glad we stopped here. We highly recommend Common Grounds. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken salad on a toasted croissant. Good amount of topping and the croissant was extra good toasted! There is plenty of seating indoors and they have a great patio with lots of seating I wished we lived around this area - we would be regulars at this place! Unfortunately we were just passing through

Your lucky if you come here. Dine where the COOL LOCALS eat. we had the hot nellie and the fire pig. The service was fast and friendly. GREAT WIFI SIGNAL. Lots of pastries and looks like an extensive copy selection

Java slush with added Carmel flavor was sooo good I wish I lived near by I would be a regular here 100%!! My husband got the sledgehammer and that coffee was delicious lastly the hot Nellie and green chorizo burrito hit the spot!! So good you will regret not stopping by this place!! Also they were so nice and welcoming here!

Delicious breakfast sandwich and a tasty Poets Table latte. Today was a beautiful day to sit outside on the patio. Friendly service.

My friend and I had their Southwestern Burrito and their Breakfast Sandwich (on cinnamon-raisin). We also ordered their pumpkin latte with an extra shot of espresso and a hot chocolate. Could not recommend this place more. Super nice vibe. Super fast food. Super yummy drinks. And the staff were all super nice even though I am always a little too talkative haha. My only regret is not having them make my napkin into a swan, but I was super hungry .

I met up with friends for the first time today at this wonderful little coffee shop and was just blown away! It's right downtown and easy to find. Parking can be a little hectic during peak hours but we just parked the next block down and thaat wasn't a problem. Plus, it was soooo worth it! It's very cozy inside and there were tons of items too buy, like homemade hats, pictures that were hanging on the wall, mugs, etc. Great place to get unique gifts! Plenty of variety on the menu for food, coffee and blended drinks, but because I'm such a huge fish and seafood person as soon as I saw salmon on the menu I had to try it. I ordered the salmon wrap they has smoked in it. And when I say this was the best smoked salmon I've had in my life I'm not kidding! It was absolutely delicious! With the first bite I could tell how fresh it was. I'm not what type of wrap it was in but it was equally as delicious. I also ordered a Mochaccino, which was very tasty. The whole vibe here is warm, relaxed and friendly and the la that work here were super friendly. This coffee shop deserves 10 stars and I can't wait to go back!

Cute place. Great coffee! I wasn't a huge fan of the chai tea I had the 2nd day. It was liquid chai mix, pretty sweet.

The choice of a side of pancake instead of toast is not really worth it. It's only one very small pancake, so you're better off taking the toast. The fried seafood dish was heavily battered, and my dining partner left a good portion of his meal. Probably not the best choice on the menu. But breakfast was good and the salad bar seems to be a popular choice. On another visit, my friend got a burger and it was huge. He said it was good. I again got eggs, this time with hashbrowns and an English muffin. It's hard to mess that up. It's not quite as good as that at First Gold, as hard to beat those hashbrowns, but this was also good.

The burger was huge, bigger than the bun. The burger was juicy, cooked perfectly with crisp bacon. Husband had chicken friend steak covered in sausage gravy. It came with eggs and hashbrowns. It was a tender steak and the sausage gravy was thick and flavorful. Service was friendly, coffee was refilled frequently and food came out quickly. This place is nostalgic as it doesn't look like much has changed since the 70's. Total diner vibe. We really enjoyed breakfast here. Great food!

Honestly if I could give zero stars, I would. My husband and a friend of ours went here last year…read morewhen leaving Sturgis and loved it. This year I went and it was complexly awful. Everything from the attitude greeting at the door to paying the incorrect tab amount. It was awful. It took us a minute to find parking and finally found a spot up the street. We walked in and immediately the lady said how many people, we said 4 and she then said 'Well we have a limited menu today. You can get a breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich or biscuits and gravy'. All of us were fine with that and said that is okay, then she looked around the room and said 'Well it is going to be a while' and then walked away. Not even a hi when we walked in the door, just straight to trying to drive us away. I went to the restroom and as I came out a table of 5 people that all had biscuits and gravy was being sent back the kitchen. That didn't look good since that is what I wanted. I heard the server ask the cook if he could heat them all up. I guess they were all cold. I could deal with that. We stood around waiting for about 15-20 minutes and the I walked over to their tiny casino area and threw in $5 to waste some time. Finally the same rude chic said to us that she had 2 high top 2 seat tables if we wanted to split. We were tired of waiting so we took them. Then we waited and waited. We watched several people come in and wait to be greeted and never spoken to, so they leave disgruntled. We waited maybe another 15-20 minutes watching other tables wait for their food and even their drinks to come. We finally got asked what we wanted to drink. We got iced tea each and ordered our limited menu breakfast. And then we waited FOREVER. The table next to us finally got their food in 2 waves with about 5-10 minutes apart. The server said the cook cannot make the gravy fsst enough. Honestly, they shouldn't have the biscuits and gravy on the menu if it takes that long. And why couldn't they have a basic breakfast, eggs, hash brown ham or sausage and toast. This was literally the items on the sandwich or the burrito. Would have made things easier for the cook. Our food finally arrived. My husbands breakfast sandwich looked amazing and it was steaming hot. My biscuits and gravy were good.... at first. One biscuit was light and fluffy but when I got to the second biscuit it was completely burned on the bottom. I couldn't even cut it. I gave up. The server gave us our tab and charged up for an omelet and hash browns for $13. They didn't even have omelets available! Then when my husband questioned the bill and the server started arguing with him. How are you going to charge us for something you don't even offer? It was ridiculous. Overall we were there for almost 2 hours which cut in to our drive time to come back to Denver. Thanks, but I won't ever be back.
