Terrible Service and No Accountability…read more I placed an order with Tropical Smoothie Cafe only to find out they were CLOSED when I arrived to pick it up. No notice, no heads-up -- just locked doors and no staff in sight. I've gone back FOUR times trying to get this resolved, and still no refund, no food, no apology. This is unacceptable and shows a complete lack of customer care or business responsibility. If you're going to take people's money, at least be open when you say you are -- or issue a refund when you're not. Won't be returning, and I'll be telling others to avoid this location too.

This time, the smoothie was wrong. I placed a to go order and had to wait 20 min past the "ready" time for my smoothie. I went to my car and ate my wrap while I waited. I ordered a detox smoothie with no kale or ginger. Got the smoothie after asking about the delay and it had kale and ginger in it. Not good...not even green which is in the name. I get that the team is busy, and I sympathize due to working in retail myself, and they were nice, but I'm tired of my food being wrong every time I go in (this time, last time, and previous visits). This coffee shop is the type that has a window on each side where you can order from. On this morning there was a nice lady working the window and we ordered 2 - 12 oz Americanos as well as a 24 oz Americano for myself. After waiting a bit for the coffee to cool, I was finally able to try it. The coffee here didn't impress me much. While it wasn't bad, it also wasn't a flavor that suited me. I will say that it was a bit on the lighter side and smooth without any bitterness. The bottom line for me is that I probably would not head back here again in the future. While there was nothing wrong with the coffee per se, it just wasn't for me.

And the fresh berries inside were delicious! You need to try one of the hand pies if that's the only thing you get here! Our sandwiches were really yummy as well. I got the Smokehouse and mom got the Bacon Apple Cheddar. Mine had a lot of sliced chicken breast which I appreciated. Very solid and filling panini, even if it was a little on the messy side. It wasn't mind blowing but it's a solid and safe choice if you want a great tasting panini. But man, I tried a handful of bites of my mom's sandwich and it made me wish I had gotten that one! Something about those thin slices of warm apples mingling with the melted cheese and bacon just worked so good! Not some crazy sandwich but something a bit more special than what you'd normally get. But it was fantastic. Definitely a winner and something I'd easily recommend getting here. That and the hand pie!
