This restaurant was surprisingly large inside and very clean, with a slightly contemporary feel, especially compared to other Vietnamese spots in the area. They specialise in Hainan chicken, and it shows in every detail. Service was quick and extremely friendly. The owner checked on us multiple times and was genuinely warm and welcoming each time. I ordered the noodles with chicken and it was phenomenal. The chicken was tender and flavourful, and the dipping sauces were excellent. They also give you a mashed chili to mix in with the noodles, which added another layer of depth and just the right amount of heat. We also ordered sides of the young chicken eggs and other offal, served in a bowl of the broth used to boil the chicken. The soup was rich and comforting, packed with pure chicken umami. Absolutely loved this place and will be back soon.

Great place if you crave for hainan chicken! Nam An Classic with crispy sticky rice $17 - at first glance I thought there was too much rice but it was a good ratio to chicken. The chicken was tender and boneless. The sauces provided were all delicious but my fave was the sweet soy sauce. Rice was crispy and not too oily. I actually came back alone because I craved it again.

Clean restaurant, nice servers and good food . Couldn't ask for a better experience here. Came in with my mom and she approved the pho ga and lemon grass chicken with sticky rice . The dishes are pricey but with groceries' prices going up, I'm sure that's why they raised their prices on dishes too

Came back to this Vietnamese-run Hainanese chicken rice spot after 3 years. Chicken portion has definitely shrunk (and price went up $1.10), but the soup that comes with the set tasted from real chicken but not bouillon. Westminster's Little Saigon has endless Vietnamese options, and this one's still a solid pick for a casual meal! Nam An Chicken Rice 15562 Brookhurst St, Westminster, CA 92683

This is our go to place for Cơm Gà Nam An (Nam An styled chicken and rice dish). They're never really busy and the parking lot's a bit tiny since they're tucked in the corner. We went with our usual #1 order which comes with rice, the steamed boneless chicken, some veggies, a bowl of broth, and 3 sauces: a garlic paste (in love with this), soy sauce, and a chili garlic fish sauce (I think). We also decided to change it up and also order #3 mild spicy lemongrass chicken and rice dish. To my surprise, the chicken was actually pretty tender and moist, but I still prefer the traditional #1 dish. Service was great and will definitely return for the chicken rice dish!

Beautifully prepared deboned free range chicken with pan fried sticky rice comes with a pickled garnish salad mix with julienned peppers garnished with Vietnamese coriander that's just wonderfully well balanced. The assortment of sauces is nice, choose your flight. If you want light, delicate taste your food type of food, this does not disappoint. I got to taste the regular hai nam rice and imo it was very good. I'm ordering that next time bc I think it pairs better with the way they prepared the chicken. Hits

I ordered the number 4. Xoi Ga Nam An (comes with soup on the side), they offered the choice of just stick rice or crispy stick rice. I went with crispy, it came with a special sauce for the rice. The dipping the sauces were amazing were also really good, different types of savory. The chicken was very moist and tender. The bones were removed from the chicken. Overall the dish was really good.

Delicious Hainan chicken! I really enjoyed the crispy rice, reminds me of my mom's chicken dish. Comes with chicken, rice, side salad, soup, and sauces. The service was fast, the restaurant was clean and spacious. The food came out really fast (it was Monday for lunch so it wasn't very busy). The server came by and told me the crispy rice dish would take an extra few minutes compared to the hainan chicken with regular rice -which was totally okay! The dish came out in a couple minutes. Totally would recommend coming here!

Craving Nam AN chicken. GF got the #5 which was a sticky rice and grilled chicken. Both were amazing, and the waitor was really polite! Great customer service. Will definitely be coming back.

I ordered the steamed chicken to-go and was completely horrified to find a LIVE snail crawling out of my food. While I understand using fresh herbs, this proves that the kitchen does not wash their vegetables properly. Snails can carry dangerous parasites (like rat lungworm), and finding one alive in my takeout container means the food is unsafe to eat. I had to throw the entire meal away. This is a massive hygiene failure. Management needs to address their washing protocols immediately.

Good food, okay service, but shady pricing tactics have us never coming back. Keep in mind we never made any special requests, ordered exactly what was on the menu, and was never alerted to any possible options. First, we ordered a side of just ovum eggs. It comes with giblets - very little eggs - something we specifically did not order because we didn't want it. When asked, the server said it comes like that, despite the menu saying "just eggs" (translated). Would've let this slide until we got the receipt and saw all the bogus charges: - charged $4 for giblets with an extra $1 for just eggs. So you claim you can't give us just eggs (even though it's on the menu) and you CHARGE US EXTRA for what you DIDN'T give us? - charged $15.80 for sticky rice with shredded chicken with an extra $1.50 for...sticky rice. Huh?! That's like ordering a cheeseburger and getting charged extra for cheese! That's already part of the dish! We didn't ask for extra sticky rice nor did we get an extra portion, mind you. So shady. - charged $31.60 for 2 nam an classics with an extra $1.50 for thigh only. Okay, didn't know there were meat options let alone being charged extra for these apparent options. The server never once asked nor let us know. So many hidden fees! At least be upfront about these charges. But I guess saying "by the way, if you order the sticky rice, you get charged $1.50 extra for sticky rice" sounds pretty ridiculous, huh? I'm so upset because the food is good and I want to come back, but not with these shady practices.

Mai Phat still exceeded them! It has since become our go-to lunch spot, as well as a local favorite for my wife's family. They specialize in egg noodles - served either dry (with broth and main protein on the side) or wet like a conventional soup bowl. My personal go-to is the dry mì sủi cảo - egg noodles with sliced / ground pork, huge wonton dumplings, a shrimp cracker, and broth on the side. The wontons come in a super rich and delicious sauce that I actually got scolded for pouring over my noodles lol. The light and clear broth is very refreshing and well-seasoned. Excellent mix of perfectly balanced flavors from every component. Add chili crisp for extra oomph. My wife loves the mì gà quay - fried chicken leg & thigh with the signature egg noodles. This is honestly one of the most perfectly seasoned and cooked fried chicken I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of fried chicken. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive Highly recommend Mai Phat for hearty, expertly crafted, and relatively guilt free Vietnamese comfort food

I noticed another gentleman by himself at a table for four people. Hmmmm. Anyhow, there were about five tables total inside or maybe six. It was very warm inside since there is no AC. This is a type of life where you eat and leave as quickly because it's a no-frills no ambience type of place. That's fine with me except it was pretty hot. They charge you a dollar for a little tiny paper cup of water. I ordered the number one since this is their specialty or what they're known for. My mom had the bun thit nuong cha gio. My noodle soup had a good amount of crab pieces and shrimp. It seemed like there was not a lot of noodles though. I thought the broth was a little bland. I guess I'm just not a big fan of this type of soup. If there is a next time, I'll try the bun rieu. My mother was not that crazy about her dish. She said she didn't really like the egg rolls that much. For the price, the wait and the taste of the food, I likely will not be returning when there are so many other places in the area. I try to support various mom and pop restaurants, but for the previous stated reasons, I don't think we'll be back.
