I'm not one to complain about portions but I barely had 2 tiny bites of chicken. I ordered two hainan chicken with dark meat from yelp and it's the right type of young chicken that Hainan is supposed to use. Not the steroid injected ones. $80 total and they didn't even follow instructions with taking the skin off. The 2 gizzard soup was good and a little salty but I kinda like my soup salty and didn't have any green onions or cilantro on any of them. Loads of gizzards were added to the soup so they weren't stingy about that. Ordering through yelp doesn't send you any type of notifications to your phone which was very inconvenient. Why doesn't any Vietnamese restaurants allow us to order spring rolls through delivery? Although this restaurant showed they had fish cake spring rolls and asked them if they can add the shrimp spring roll to my order and I'll pay over the phone separately since I already had a grub hub order in and it can be delivered at the same time, they said no. It made ZERO sense and he didn't speak English and was so rude he didn't even have the decency to get an English speaking person on the phone and simply hung up on me. I thought it was a mistake but when I called back again he seemed annoyed and busy so he hung up again. read more

I'm a big fan of hainan chicken and this place is local and satisfies the cravings. Very similar to hainan chicken with I believe with a vietnamese interpretation. Each meal comes with a bowl of chicken browth which is really good! Our group got a mix of the normal hainan chicken and the lemongrass chicken with crispy rice. Crispy rice is more of a sticky rice then the white rice. The chicken was super tasty and the sticky rice made me full really quick. I had to take half home as leftovers. If i come back I will definately look to trying the normal hainan chicken dish. The location is tucked in the back end of the plaza, google maps might try to bring you in from the backside. I love Com Ga Nam An for their everything chicken menu. Their chicken is always tender and juicy across the menu. I have tried different dishes here, but my most favorite is Chao Goi Ga. Arguably, they have the best chao (porridge) in town. I used to go to Chao Dem, but their cleanliness has been getting exponentially worst over the years. On the other hand, Com Ga Nam An is always clean, service is great, and the food is even better. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I wasn't in a mood for pho so I decided to try the porridge instead. It was actually really flavorful and a pretty good portion. It only comes with the steamed chicken and no giblets. Found this place through a TikTok and was definitely a good recco. The decor is modern and clean. The menu is simple, different types of chicken and rice and noodles. We came for the xoi ga nam an (Hainan chicken) with sticky rice and instead of plain rice it has sticky rice which is actually a crispy sticky rice. It is so good. Def worth having over the the plain rice. We also got the com ga nuong xa which was their lemon grass chicken. Both were delicious! read more

Com ga hai nam is bomb here with debone chicken and delicious sweet soy sauce. I love how they have white meat option and it's the walking chicken texture so has some bouncy chewiness to it. I also appreciate the fact that during lunch rush hour or when they're short staffed they would be upfront about the wait time so they're not wasting my time. This morning, my girlfriend was craving chicken noodle soup, but there were some places they wouldn't let dine in. Luckily, there is a restaurant let us dine out. Opps! Sorry, I forgot to take pictures before they brought them out LOL. But look, my girlfriend and I ate very well appetite. The restaurant was very clean from inside to the outside, the service was fast, our food came out within 5 minutes, it was hot and smell soo good, we ordered 2 bowls of chicken dark meats and 1 plate of wings, the chicken was delicious, medium cooked, the vermicelli was perfect cooked not sticky, the broth is tasty, not too rich from the seasoning ingredients. Of course we will come back next time since I was almost addicted to the chicken vermicelli here. Thanks!!! read more

You can't trust yelp ratings for Vietnamese restaurants because its super low due to service but not because of the food quality. Although I understand that service is a quintessential part of ones experience, I realized that the food here is too good to not return. All their dishes are solid such as their white rice and boiled chicken dish or their bbq chicken with grilled sticky rice. I crave this once a week but the downside is that their portions for to go is substantially smaller than their in house portions. read more

Was in between a 3 & a 4, so I rounded up and gave them a 4 because the food was good and I can see an effort to pivot operations during coronavirus. They have a hand sanitizing station upon entry, and requests you sanitize before being seated. (Although the sanitizer feels diluted as water and has a an awful smell that doesn't smell like sanitizer so I went and washed my hands after.) Food was served on paper plates and to go utensils if possible, also probably from COVID. If you order soup or noodles, they will serve you in regular bowls due to lack of alternatives. Social distancing was somewhat enforced, but they did get busy and I feel like they wanted to lean more towards accommodating more guests than keeping a strict 6 feet apart. The prices for the food has been raised, so that was kind of disappointing. I do like the food but it is overpriced at over 11$ per dish. The only thing that makes it semi worth it is the fact that they debone the chicken for you, and you get a variety of sauces which is a plus to me. I am fairly impressed by this place. Lunch on a Sunday was pretty crowded even though it was on the tail end of lunch time. I had the Nam An's chicken style rice as recommended by my friend who loves all things Vietnamese. This reminded me of hainanese chicken I've had on the east coast. You get a choice of white or dark meat. My friend said the dark meat is more popular and at time runs out when dinner rolls around. Though the chicken portion was on the smaller side, this comes with a soup and fairly heaping amount of rice and some veggies. The soup was just a simple broth (I'm suspecting it's chicken broth -- duh). The rice was flavorful, fluffy, and soft. I think it also has the chicken broth essence infused. This place is truly a 3 1/2 for me (the amount of chicken wasn't what I expected), but I was fairly wow'ed by the food so 4 stars it is. I think the rather low rating for this place may be based on service (ours was neutral). I already come to a Vietnamese place not expecting great service so that's not even accounted for in this review. I gauged it upon price, quality, and portion. read more

I arrived when they first opened so there's no other order to be confused with mine. They are either idiots or lying thieves! I paid for a WHOLE Hainan chicken and they gave me half of a chicken. I counted 1 leg, 2 flaps and half side of breast. Pre-pandemic, the entire box was filled with chicken. Now half of that same box is replaced with sauce. That's some damn expensive sauce! I am told by Vietnamese folks (I am not Vietnamese and am fourth gen here) that this place is known for their chicken and rice (I think the name of the place actually references these things). I tried the grilled lemon grass chicken with non-sticky rice. It was good. They also have steamed chicken which some people like more (but I prefer the grilled). You can get either of them with non-sticky or sticky rice. The chao (rice porridge) is also good here. The chao with steamed chicken and giblets is good. They also have bun bo hue and pho, but my understanding is they are not known for these dishes. I will say that there were three large flies flying around the room. Had to keep shooing them away from my food. That was a little disconcerting. This place could benefit from an anti-insect air curtain above the door, or at least a wall sconce fly light with adhesive board. read more

Delicious fresh chicken. I have ordered their orgonal Com Ga Nam An (Chicken and Rice Nam an style) and their Xoi Ga Nam An (The same but with sticky rice). Make sure you order the one with the sticky rice, because the sticky rice is so good! For $11, you get a big plate of sticky rice, fresh chicken (Dark or white meat, I reccomend white meat - although white meat is known to be more dry, their chicken is super juicy), a small salad, and soup on the side. The sticky rice is crispy on the outside but so soft on the inside. The chicken is poached, and it is so juicy. The sauces that come with this dish is amazing. You will have 4 different sauces: Soy sauce, Green chicken sauce, fish sauce, and ginger sauce. All very good, make sure you ask for chopped red chilis to mix in your sauces for an extra kick. read more

Chicken is on point and one of the juiciest and tastiest Hai nan chicken I've tried in the area. The sauces are great as well. I usually get the #1 with rice cooked in chicken broth. I saw some reviews you can upgrade to crispy rice. They actually don't have that anymore but you can order #4 which is the same but it comes with a fried sticky rice. The sauce that comes with the sticky rice is bomb. My only complaint is how small the portions are, specifically for the chicken. For the price you're paying I would be happier with more. Sauce isn't enough for me either, but I think you can ask for more without extra charge hopefully! read more
