I could have just removed the item myself, but at the same time, I shouldn't have to pick through my food after receiving an incorrect order when I'm paying for it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. They start off with pretzel breads with cute butters shaped like Porsche cars! They do have a couple chairs in front of the host table as well as a bar area. Bathrooms are back towards the host area. Huge and clean! There is a viewing station as well that you can walk outside from this area to watch the track from the top and that did not disappoint. I am a big fan of their filets, petit bistro salad, steak salad, and fish. None of those should be cut! But there needs to be, at minimum, one to two more entrée salad options. Quinoa is great, but doesn't work for everyone. Even just one or two added entree salads would make it much more enticing to return, especially for mixed gender groups. Ideally, the chef could rotate this salad through new concepts seasonally. No need for new menus, just do a specials card. If that's not possible, then one or two permanent salad items to cater to the health foodies would be AMAZING. The main issue is that the Nick's menu lacks innovation, which makes it hard to bring business partners or friends there on repeat visits. I wouldn't be so bothered except that the last time I went to Nick's I added chicken to a salad and they gave me a very poorly prepared piece of low quality chicken with three mouthfuls of bone and gristle. Dish also lacked grease and for it being absolutely covered in cheese, bacon, and sausage, I was happier than heck that there were no grease pools. Service was good, although they lagged a bit with refills - they get insanely busy though so I get it. Again, they compensated with good vibes, suggestions, overall interactions so I wouldn't worry about a lack of attention here. I would probably not advise against ordering the guava pancake; however, it wasn't anything incredibly special so I'd opt for a different flavor if going the pancake route. The only thing - I would not recommend the greens with this bowl since the beans kinda take over the base. But hey, it was still delicious, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I did learn you want to order ahead of time at lunch. That way it's ready when you get there. I did have to wait, but only for about 10 minutes after I placed my order on the kiosk. But it was PACKED right at lunch time and parking was even difficult to find even though theyre in a strip mall area with lots of parking. If you have time to eat in, they've done a good job with the seating area. It's a casual restaurant with lots of great flavors. Can't wait to try another bowl at some point!
