I was debating on posting this but decided to in case any other girls had a similar experience or to prevent girls from going there and this happening. On Wednesday I went to Nails yes (5160 S Pulaski). I got my nails done and they came out great! No complaints. I went to get my pedicure and this older man immediately made me uncomfortable, as soon as i sat down he took my sweater from me and touched my upper inner thigh and I had to remove his hand. I continued with the pedicure and it was all normal he gave me a massage with the lotion as they usually do but once basically done he gave me another massage and kept moving further up my legs and touching underneath my upper thighs, putting me in a really uncomfortable position and I had to ask him to stop. It put me in a weird spot because he was doing his job but also massaging me for an extended period of time and going way too high up even my cousin noticed . When he finished he touched my upper inner thigh again and I once again had to remove his hand. My cousin told the owners I wasn't going to pay for the pedicure and they accepted, as If this is something that happened before or they weren't surprised. It was something I never experienced before and I really didn't know how to react but I know a lot of other girls would feel just as uncomfortable. This is a photo of him. This is my go to place to get my nails done. The staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. I prefer getting no chip cause I always mess up my nails with regular polish. My only complaint is, it's 40$ to get a full set no chip And when you come back to just get acrylic fills and a color change it's still 40$. Came here to try it because the place I usually went was close that day. Pedicure was done quickly like in 20 minutes and it was actually good. 3 stars because I had some hygiene concern... Two times I've been here and I am sold. For a while I was going to Sky nails on pulaski. First time I got a full set done, she took her time even though I was the last customer and did my nails how I asked. When I was drying them I messed one up and asked another worker there to fix it and nicely he did! I was the last customer at 8:18 and they still let me take my time drying! Second time, I went to get my eyebrows waxed in almost 3 years because another lady messed them up and I told the her I was scared, that I just wanted a clean up. Every time I go somewhere else that's not this place to get my nails done they either end up breaking because they're too thin or the color comes off or they just don't turn out how I want them. My recommendation is to go with Dr. Peter! He is super nice and funny. I often get small discounts for being a regular too. One of the best nail salon in the south side of Chicago! If I could give 0 stars I would. I walked in and wanted to look at the chart of prices in the front. Everyone's reviews said so many promising things so as soon as the nail tech was rushing me to go to his seat, I went, not looking at the prices. I sat down and said I wanted fake nails. He said acrylic? And I said no, gel nails. He said ok I'll do gel nails. So he busts out this shady ass tub of acetone and tells me to shove my fingers in there to take off the polish i had, which is completely unsanitary compared to having them wipe it off! So I do that while he gets his stuff and then he sorta clips my nails and barely files them even though my natural nails are a mess. (this next part I wasn't aware of Arcrilic vs. gel because I've never gotten my nails done) He then sticks the tips of fake nails on top of my nail and then dips the brush in the arcrilic powder and the liquid arcrylic mix and makes my nails just like that. He doesn't pay much attention to the shaping leaving the sides close to my fingers with empty spaces etc. because it's CURING as time goes and not through the UV because it's not gel like I requested. I tell him also I wanted like almond shape and he busts out a random chart from his drawer saying oh look that's extra 3$ ok ok 2$ for u and automatically does it without my consent. So here I am hyped as hell because I got my nails done and they looked great at a glance and I'm waiting for them to dry while he's already shoving the bill down my throat which he practically just wrote on a piece of paper he busted out and doesn't let my nails dry before I have to pay him. I leave happy because idk what in hell just screwed me over. I went to MJ nails(bad decision) and left that place with $50 less in my pocket and my nails were a disaster! . I came here and they fixed up my nails perfectly, got a cut down, fill in , and polish change for $30 and it was $30 well spent! Came here because the place I usually go to had a 40min wait. I will not be coming back. The place is extremely clean and staff was very friendly. The nail job, not-so-great. My nails had ridges and the edges were not cleaned neatly. For a $50 no chip mani and regulars pedi I expect much more. I kinda could have done this myself at home. Oh, well. Worst service ever. I paid $30 for no chip and this morning thumb nail chipped and peeling. Color so thin you can see natural nail and tips of nails are white. Went back today for refund since I didn't get the service I paid for and he said we have no refund policy on wall. We will fix but no refund. Where do we begin... One, we waited a very long time for pedicures when there were 3 workers doing nothing. Two, we had gel on our toes and they burned our toes repeatedly trying to take it off. It was almost like the more we said it hurt the more they did it. Three... after using cotten balls to remove nail poilish, they put the used ones back in the jar to be reused! Finally, we read the reviews that the foot massages were great.... NOT!!! They lasted about 2 minutes and the massaging chairs didn't work. read more
