Awesome little place in a kitschy strip mall in the heart of Archer Heights Color selection is vast, place is clean, nail techs are personable and if you're a woman you get a discount for paying cash Sunday -Wednesday Took my 87yo Father there a few years ago for his first pedi they were kind and he was thrilled! Worst place ever!! Don't even deserve one star!! This big guy with tattoos did my nails in rush and came out all messed up. I had another gentlemen fix and he had nerve to say "I'm picky" I told him "no you in rush" he said "yes it's busy it's Saturday you don't like it don't come back" I told him "this how you talk to your customers" and he going to tell me "shut the fuck up and leave" the nice lady there jumped in to fix my nails he messed up while he continued to talk shit. read more

The place is straight. I recommend you to take cash to take advantage of the deal $40 no chip mani and regular pedicure. Otherwise it's $44 if you Pay with debit/credit card. I only didn't like how kind of a mess it looked, they could organize it better or make it look a tinsy bit professional. But other than that, my nails look great. read more

Hello, This was my go-to salon for many years. I never had a single complain about this place. That was until a young, tall man took care of me. It was my first time interacting with him. He was the only man working there that day. I didn't like the work he began to do so I asked him to just finish filing my nails and charge me. He was livid, he began to raise his voice at me and another lady working there (who apparently is his wife). I felt threatened, attacked and fearful. I am very sad to say I'll never be going back there. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible! I was charged $72 dollars for a very basic nail dip and a regular pedicure. A few days later, my pedicure polish was chipping not only that they charge an extra $5 to basically put lotion on your feet in which they consider a massage! They will not get my money again. read more

I was treated to a pedicure and manicure by my husband. The lady who did my toes cut my skin on both toes, so that was a downside. Then after finishing up my pedicure I continued to getting my nails done. The rude man at the chair asked me, "Do you want me to do your nails or the other lady? Last time you didn't want me to for your nails!" This man must of had confused me with someone else, I didn't respond to his rudeness. As I was getting my nails done I told him several times that's not the shape I want, and he cut the skin on the side of my pinkyHe finished me nails and sent me to another person to finish the polish. When I was completely finished my husband paid them with a card, the woman taking his payment asked him, "Cash is better 10% off" my husband had enough cash to pay for both of us and tipped the person that took care of him. Not thinking anything I walked out the door thinking I was good since my husband had paid for my work. The rude man that did my nails and the lady that did my pedi, requested a tip. I said I am sorry my husband paid you already. The lady said, "You need to give a tip!" Followed by the man's statement, "No tip? Go tell your husband to tip us all!" I was shocked to hear their demand and I responded, " My husband paid for his work and mine. Your job is paid for, he also tipped the young lady, I don't have anymore cash!" The man asked me to get my husband to give them more cash! Hah! They must be out of this world, he gave one young lady a $10 tip because that's all he had and asked her to divide the tip. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

I've been coming here for years. The service has always been less than mediocre. The two guys that work there are super unfriendly and rude. The ladies keep to themselves and do a nice job. My last visit is probably also my last. I started off with a no chip from one of the gentlemen. He was having an off day, I could tell because he kept flicking my fingers sideways to file my nails. He would jerk my hand sideways. It didn't make for a comfortable, relaxing experience one would expect. I asked him to file two nails that just did not look neatly filed and he flipped a switch. He pushed back in his chair and told me to go down to a different person so they can finish me off. She ended up refiling my nails.. not only the two I asked for plus more nails. She painted them nicely, I was pleased about that. The pedicure, which was done by another lady was good. She did a nice leg massage and did a nice job with my feet. I know they are working hard but they really need to let the two uncaring men out. They make me uncomfortable and they are very unfriendly. The women do a nice job. At the end of my visit the woman who charged me pretty much took it upon herself to tip for me. My visit was $48, I gave her $60 and she says here.. you get $2 back. I was planning on tipping them $10 but was extremely bothered that she told me how much I was tipping. Salon personnel: you offer nice services but you should communicate better with your clients, be more attentive, get rid of the guys, and don't tip yourselves! You've lost a customer (not that you care). Strive to do better and be friendlier. read more

Nails look awful and they have the worst customer service. They should close this place down! Wish I can leave no stars.

This place has poor service and customer service. I request a no chip but they attempted to use a "filer" which is really a pet nail filer and got upset when I ask them not to. The man in the pic did a poor job of removing skin from my nails so I did it myself. He then began to yell and I left. read more

I went to this nail salon just to give it a try and honestly never again in my life going back I showed the lady my inspo picture she was the first lady on the chair next to their little cashier/entrance she had long hair look very young. I showed her my inspiration picture of what I wanted she told me OK I could do that then when she was filing down my no chipped nail polish from my last set because I was going for a fill-in she was already done and was going to apply the acrylic then she tells me I only have clear acrylic and in my head I was like how are you going to tell me you could do this and then tell me you don't have color acrylic for my ombré nails? I then decided to just pick a random color and as I was picking my color she kept having her own opinions on the colors like that was is okay but this one is better or oh my this and that which at the end it's not her nails it's my nails so it's how I want them and what color I want them then i went with the yellow that I wanted. my nails were so uneven and so bumpy and I told them and they said it's the nail polish not the nail which is horrible unacceptable seriously. They put 3 layers of nail polish which made them thicker then they walked away and made me wait for like 10 min sitting down never again read more

I've been coming here for a few years now. The service has always been okay. You get what you pay for, right? An incentive to coming here was the $24 Mon-Wed Reg mani-pedi special but now they did away with that, It is now $30. With a no-chip removal and tip, I ended up paying over $45 for a Reg mani / pedi. (Ouch) On another visit, I didn't have cash and I used my credit card, they charged an additional $4 on a $15 service for using cc. I was told that there was a fee (I imagine it would be $1 or $2) but I never imagined that it would be a 28% surcharge. After the tip, I ended up paying $25 for a color change. All the staff but 3, now appear to be new and are quite inexperience. Some are too slow and are not thorough. If you go in, be sure to ask about pricing up front. Watch out for all the nickel and diming practice here. My coworkers and I are no longer going as often as we used to for mani / pedis. We are anxiously awaiting for the new nail salon across the street to open up because this place no longer cares about good service. read more

I've been coming here for years, always very nice and the wait times aren't bad. They have great nail techs.

Really unhappy with my pedicure. I paid $25 to get the top of my toe sanded off because the lady wasn't paying attention and I was only in the chair for 10 minutes (my friends were in the chair for 30-45 minutes and got a leg/foot massage). She then proceeded to draw a design on my toe, which she implied would be for free because she cut me and I was bleeding profusely and then charged me for it. When I went to get my money back because I was still bleeding 30 minutes later, they would not give me my money back. As if this weren't scary enough, someone was in the chair/tub that I had just bled all over and I know it wasn't cleaned properly. I don't know if they used the same tools that they did on me, but if they did, they weren't clean. They are lucky I don't have a blood born pathogen because they could get a lot of people sick!! Don't ever go here, it's not worth the sanitary risk! read more

Nail Academy - This is the wound I paid $25 for!!! - Nail Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Usual at this place. Great prices and good work. I always get my eyebrows waxed here. 7$! No chips are a must. 25$. Credit card is accepted but is apparently frowned upon. Try not to use it unless you're getting more than 25$ of work done. Manually let them know how much tip you want to give them before the swipe. Good selection of no chip options. Usually a little busy passed 3:30. They close at 8 so if you're making your way over at 730 be prepared to come back tomorrow. Child friendly. Brought my 5 year old niece and they were very sweet with her. Def recommend this neighborhood place. read more

This is a great nail salon. Everyone is very friendly. It's especially good if you're in a hurry. They are quick, but still take their time to do a good job. Even as a walk-in, I've never waited more than 5 minutes to be taken. The prices are also VERY reasonable... they're some of the lowest I've ever seen. They have a great ongoing special: $25 mani/pedi (Sunday-Thursday only). The place is very clean and sanitary, which makes a huge difference for me. Extra perk: the ladies all give you a little shoulder rub while you wait for your nails to dry under the lamps! I always leave feeling so relaxed. While they do accept Credit, it seems like they prefer cash. When I reached for my credit card, the girl asked me if I had cash. Not really a big deal, but I try to bring cash because it's such a great value for the quality. read more

I went with my mom to get service done, the guy so un respectfu, I asked someone else to do it for my mom (manicure) because he said, he can't do it and no one wanted, he was so pissoff I don't know why or the reason I was just explaining to him what my mom wanted because she doesn't speak Englis, we just asked for a manicure that he never did. He told us go somewhere else, get out from here. I paid before he started and he slap me the money... No coming back again read more

Update: they are now open on Sunday's! Most nail places don't open on Sunday's, so I'm glad there's one in the neighborhood that does. Another perk: Sunday - Wednesday specials include $13 mani $18 pedi, $30 mani/pedi, $40 no chip mani/ reg pedi, and other options I can't remember atm Came in on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no wait :) Although the lady who took care of my pedi could've been a little nicer, the language barrier was def there. I was satisfied with my nails and the sweet deal for no chip mani/reg pedi. read more

I've been going to this place for years, not often, but whenever I do need a pedicure or manicure, this is the place for me. Tops things I like about this place: - Tile floors...I've been to my share of nail joints with carpeting that look very dirty and unsanitary. - Convenient parking ... lot in front, I can always find parking - Massaging chairs :D - $25 mani/pedi special Sunday through Thursday...best deal I've come accross. I've never had an unpleasant experience here. Will definatly keep this as my #1 spot for mani/pedis. P.S. Also offer waxing read more

I'm giving 1 star because I can't give them -10!! They turned into an "academy" now they pretty much force you to give tip to every girl that touches you! So, price, plus 3 tips, and they don't take less than $5!! WTF!! They are always in a rush, the job it's very bad and on top of everything, they park everyday in the "handicapped" spot! And I guess someone asked them to move their suv, now they park right outside the nail salon, they don't care if this makes the whole parking lot crazy the management of this strip mall, needs to do something about it!! read more

Came here for a regular French mani/pedi. I wasn't in my usual area and really didn't know where to go but yelp has done me a solid once again. Walked-in and was greeted and immediately was soaking my dogs in a bath of water. Water could have been hotter but that's something I won't complain about. My foot ran into a table and part of my big toe nail was gone and the lady did the best she could and an impressive job frenching that bad boy up. The only thing I didn't like about the pedi was either I had some horrible feet underneath or she just did a quick job but there was still a bit of dead skin down there which was one of the primary reasons I went in there. The mani was fantastic! She shaped it better than anyone else I have ever gone too. Even after the paint chipped and I took it off and the nail grew out, they were in such an amazing shape! One of these best manis I have had. Its unfortunate that the paint starting chipping off in 2 days. Next time I think ill try the no-chip. read more

Shitty customer service. Was waiting for a no chip with one specific employee, for over 20 minutes, when someone walked in and wanted fake nails. The lady tells me I'd have to get them done by someone else. Apparently only ONE person is able to do fake nails?? HOW. Ridiculous. read more

Ladies are so nice minus the fact they request a tip when you pay which I find rude if asking for additional money-- it's courtesy to leave tip but don't ask and be put on the spot. They added "spa" options for $38 which includes green tea mask for your legs, mint & sugar scrubs + a longer message for on your feet and legs. Worth the cost but a little pricey compared to spa treatments I've had before. read more

Went back the next day with a girlfriend for a pre-wedding mani/pedi. My friend got there at 10 am (it's a very small little plaza, sharing a small "parking lot" off Pulaski - don't sneeze or you'll miss it) and waited outside their doors in the calm, sweltering Chicago summer humidity, for twenty minutes until they decided to open their doors. Very professional, right off the bat. We got our pedis, headed over to the mani station, and I then casually confirmed the price I was quoted over the phone. They tried to charge me $20 more than what I what quoted. I ended up just stopping them before I got the no-chip mani, paid for my pedi, and got the h*ll out of there, but not before they snickered in their language and laughed, "you thought how much??? no! no!" The pedi was decent, to be fair, but it wasn't worth the price, the humiliation, or the hassle/wait/unprofessionalism. read more

They're cheap in price, but horrible service. I'm used to waiting at nail places to get my nails done but this was ridiculous. They have one person start and seat me as soon as I got in, so I was thinking they were going to do a great job. Then they had another person prep the nails and leave me there. Finally a third person painted my nails. I had to wait 20+ minutes in between each person. I would have left if I wasn't already in the chair with my feet in water waiting. I do not recommend them regardless of how inexpensive they are, wasted more time waiting than actually getting my nails done. read more

Please don't come here this place it one of the worst places I have ever been. Spent 34 on no chip never coming here again. First off I went in for a fill in as she took off my no chip nail polish. She was doing it so fast that every finger hurt. I felt she was already in a rush trying to get me out. She filled all my nails in like 1 minute. Usually girls take there time to fill them in so they won't be lumpy well not this woman. I told her oval shape and every single nail was different I already knew she messed them up by me looking at them. So I told her I wanted matte black to try and hide it cause I originally wanted sparkling nails. Keep in mind she was doing my nails so fast like there was no one waiting so I don't understand why she was rushing. To top it off I had never had so one apply then I chip nail polish she applied 4 to 5 coats which it's only suppose to be 2 coats. And what really got me angry was the fact after I took my hands out the light she begin to file my nails. Like why are you doing that unless you know they are not right she did that to all my nails. I really wanted to say something but I don't like to be mean so I kept it to my self. 4 of my nails my cuticles hurt and are cut because her. read more

At first, I loved this place. No chip for $25? But then after a few manicures, they started to go the cheap route to do things. Filing off the no chip instead of soaking it off properly. My nails are so damaged and so thin, it's painful. I guess you get what you pay for. read more
