I want to love this place because it's so convenient. In the winter they're ok but they don't do a good job when they're busy in the summer. I came here today two weeks prior to my college graduation. I asked for the nails listed in the first photo and the second photo is what I got. The owner and his wife were nasty to me when I came back in and wanted to give me $30 back from a $111 service. The wife came to me with clippers and yanked my hand and started clipping my nails off. All happening while I'm standing up and shaking because I have anxiety. And he was telling me how he got a haircut two weeks ago, and he didn't like it, and had to wear a hat. What kind of analogy is that? so you want me to wear gloves for my grad photos? He ended up giving me what I paid for the nails plus my tip back. Regardless, he handled the situation awfully and told me not to write a review. Don't go here. Oh I almost forgot, when I was getting a pedicure, the water overflowed and got my Birkenstocks soaked. Where do I start? I guess the phrase "you get what you pay for" holds true here, but even with that they are still overcharging because the service provided here should be free. So as with most shops similar to this, the first thing they have you do is pick your color. Let me just say, most of their colors on the shelf looked old and rundown, and there was a clear lack of organization. With that said, even though I hadn't chosen a color and there was no one in the shop when I walked in, they ushered me to the pedicure chair and it was at that point they gave me a nail palette. Why they didn't just give me that in the first place, I don't know, but I digress. The lady doing my pedicure was nice even though there was a clear language barrier. Sorry, but if I am getting a pedicure and supposedly relaxing, I don't feel I have to struggle for a specialist to understand what I am saying. Anyway, despite this, she did try her best and my feet ended up decent looking. Here is when things went left (or even more left), the lady doing my pedicure did not continue to do my nails. I guess another person came in? and she didn't continue. Whatever the reason, I didn't appreciate it. If you have a client that has an appointment and you need to attend to it, let me know or simply get the same person who started you to finish. COMMUNICATE! So they put me with this male technician...who could barely speak any English. This would not have normally been too much of a problem, but this guy did a crappy job on my nails. I kid you not, a five year old looked like they did it. It was also very rushed. He barely spent anytime with my hands. Every step of the way, I was telling him something wasn't right but because he couldn't understand or didn't want to understand what to do. Once my nails were "completed" again, I let him know my dissatisfaction but it seemed he couldn't care less. So, imagine his shock when it was time to pay, I didn't tip. Guess he understands money. Anyway, I am not one to just complain on yelp without speaking directly to someone. I wanted to talk to someone else to complain, but it seemed at this point there was no manager available. So, I called, and let them know and I came back. The lady who originally did my nails did them again, which was decent (and she was nice) and honestly the reason this review isn't 0. I would really avoid this place. A sign of a good place is the number of repeat customers. I noticed most of the folks coming here were first time customers. If I could give more stars I would this place is amazing and the owner cares about her customers . I was really nervous getting this done but I don't regret it . She does phenomenal job . She know what she's doing for sure . She was very patient and was very precise on what she was doing . I recommend you come to this place . My brows look so natural and just the way I wanted them . i'm not one for leaving reviews, i honestly had to make a yelp account just to leave this but these were genuinely the worst nails ever!! don't get me wrong very nice people- just not people who should be in the nail salon business. I got acrylics with french tips and the acrylic was chunky and filled wonky, the french tip lines visibly not straight or clean lines, as well as a ridiculously thick french (it took up 1/3 of the nail). The nails are also different sizes, one thumb is significantly bigger than the other. Pictures attached I also got a pedicure which if you could believe it was worse. The nail polish was spilling over my cuticle and there was not a single toe with evenly applied nail polish (each toe has spots with no color). I also didn't want this color to begin with, however when requesting white all they had was a clear color?! what nail salon doesn't have white!! The older gentleman doing my nails was rushed the entire time, however the women next to me (whose nails were done by the teenage receptionist who was working because they were short staffed) looked amazing. read more

DO NOT GO. For your own safety do not go here. The board standard for health and safety is completely disregarded at this business. As a board certified nail tech I was horrified when I walked in with one of my girlfriends. She wanted to treat me to a manicure for my birthday which I don't like going to places for due to most of these nail salons practice no board health rules or standards and charge a ton of money for crap work. She assured me she heard ok things and we should check it out. I'll keep this short. I asked for a dip, it's basically acrylic just done in a different way with no tip in my case. The gentleman doing my nails greeted me without washing his hands. I saw him come from a pedicure chair he was lounging in and just plop down shake my hand and get started. He did not prep my nail except for a light file over the tops real quick. This is incorrect. Cuticle should be pushed back. Hands washed. Nails shaped. None of this happened. He began dipping my nails. Over and over he tipped. They got thicker and heavier. Which should not be happening. He then filed them down some. Hitting my cuticle and making them all cut up and bloody. My nails were so dried out and beat up at this point. I wanted to cry. That's over and we go to pay. This is what set me over and made me write this review because honestly we know these salons are horrific we just keep going because it's all there is and most don't want to do their own nails. These thieves charged my friend $55 for a dip set no tip!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! That's a full acrylic set at a NICE salon. My nails started lifting in a matter of days , as I knew they would due to zero nail prep and a heavy thick coat. Please beware of this business. I'm surprised they haven't been sued for severely causing harm to someone. Ladies do the research. Go to a board certified salon! read more

I went to this salon yesterday for the second time. I will absolutely return after 2 very pleasant experiences. Do yourself a favor and get the deluxe pedi with paraffin wax- you won't regret it. The first time I had a wonderful gel manicure, but this time I wanted my nails longer. I don't like acrylic- it makes my skin itch and it's pretty bad for your natural nail. We decided to do extensions with dip powder. I told him I want them to look delicate and natural. They are perf!!! I can't wait to go back in a few weeks! I don't recommend this place at all, the service was horrible and very superficial. I requested a spa pedicure and what I got was a complete fake pedicure, no cuticle removal, no calluses removal and it took only 30 minutes while the owner on manager was on the phone most of the time or walked away. This fake pedicure was $50. I believe that this so called nail salon treat tourists different than locals beca they know it is a one time visit. read more

I have been wanting to get microblading forever I met Oanh Khau at the nail salon by my house I go to. I have checked into getting this done many times all around Virginia Beach. I finally decided to get it done and she's honestly amazing my brows have never looked better!!! She took her time measured them let me check them she was very detailed and meticulous!!! I have been going to Nails Only for more than 10 years. Every single time I go there it is a great experience and I leave a very happy customer. Recently, I had Oanh's service of Eyelash Curling and tint. It has been almost 3 weeks and everything Oanh said is true! They stay curled! A minor swish of mascara and I am ready for the day! I decided to go here for a gel manicure because my cousin recommended it and I wasn't happy with the last one I got at a different salon. I called about an hour before I arrived for the appointment to let them know I was coming and they were fine with that, even though they were busy. I couldn't be happier with Kim's work! She was so meticulous with the manicure, so it took a little bit longer than the place I normally go to, but she did a fantastic job and I like to get my money's worth. She was so helpful and didn't try to upsale me on designs, etc like a lot of places do, which I find annoying. It was a very calm atmosphere inside and beautifully decorated. My only complaint is the paraffin wax is not included, however they didn't charge extra to take off the old gel job which was surprising! I went to Oahn last summer for eyebrow, lip, & eyeliner tattoo. She was not professional and after spending over $1000 for a botched & unbalanced job had to return to have fixed. She allowed her 2 young children to run in and out of the small room who co tinued to distract her. This job was supposed to include a "touch up" this year and after scheduling an appt months in advance she called to confirm & then said there would be extra charges ! I had to file a complaint w/ Va. cosmetology regulatory board & BBB as she told me she had an attorney who would deal with the problem ! I had my eyebrows microbladed for the first time 2 years ago (for those who are looking into microblading it is semi permanent) and then most recently here with Oanh. She was very professional, clean, organized and worked around my schedule for my initial appointment as well as my touch up. Let me be clear when I say *I have no eyebrow hairs*. I am 26 and I have some medical issues that have taken away my brows. Oanh gave me beautiful eyebrows! She's very detailed and she was very gentle with my sensitive skin. I could not have been happier and I am on week three with my gel manicure and it still looks beautiful. Would absolutely not recommend this place, unless you want an express mani/pedi. First, I'm from out of town so called ahead and made an appointment. We had to wait when we got there, and then they got mad when two of our friends were a few minutes late...almost gave up their chairs. Second, it was super busy but they made it a point to go after everyones visit who walked through the door. I don't blame them for being good business people, but I do blame them for rushing through all of our mani/pedi's. I was done with both in forty minutes. Finally, I'm all about efficiency but qualitatively. My nails look horrendous. She also cut them after I asked her not to. Ok horrendous is harsh, but a few of them are incredibly sloppy. It didn't help that she was on the phone the entire time. It took them 3 hours to do a set of nails with french tips. One was crooked, all were thick and after one week I had to get a full set again since they were not filed down enough and properly set. They all rose up in five days and when I went to another place they were shocked that this was a new set. Needless to say I had to get another whole new set. I am very particular about my nail salons and my expectations were beyond exceeded with Nails Only! I called 15 minutes before they closed asking for their hours; they told me they could still take me for a mani pedi since I was 5 mins away and insisted it was no problem. I expected to be hurried in and out but they were extremely attentive, detail oriented, and friendly. They even had one person shaping my nails during my pedi. No corners were cut! The place itself is deceptively pretty inside despite being in a strip mall and extremely clean.
