I came in for a fill in and to replace a nail. The replacement nail looks nothing like the others and makes my thumb look swollen. She asked if I liked the length of my acrylics and when I said yes she still proceeded to file them down. The white french nail tip is painted on so poorly that i can see my natural nail. My first time here was a DISASTER. And I was ready to do a complete TELL ALL. But when you sign in for a service at the front desk, you enter your phone number and select if you want a full set, manicure, or pedicure. That phone number entry saved this review. After a series of unfortunate events, I left. I didn't get the service I asked for, so I opted to leave. Within MINUTES, the OWNER of the salon called me. Best nail salon in VB!! Seriously I love VB Nail Studio. It took me years and many salons to find one that's consistently on point and this is it. The space is beautiful, and there is a lot of attention to detail with touches like snacks and drinks and tons of spa options. Natalie runs the salon like a classy family business and she is amazing, she really cares about clients and makes sure everyone has a personalized experience. Rose does KILLER shaping and immaculate eyebrows, Sarah is funny and rocks the pedicures (6 weeks no chips! Heyyyy!!) and Natalie is highly requested for her nail designs. Thanks to Viola for doing my pedicure and waxing my legs. She is so nice and friendly andy husband and I were treated so well. They've been around for 3-4 years in the Landstown shopping center. The pricing is decent and they have a lot of promos whether if you write a review on google or come Mondays and Tuesday they give $10 off for their customers. I like their check in system where you can earn points for coming. The massage chairs for the pedicure were brand new and the shiatsu was very powerful on my back. It was nice and relaxing and so happy that the nail salon doesn't have that steonf acrylic smell. They are clean, professional and I like that on a Saturday it wasn't packed. This is for a pedicure I received over a week and a half ago. I asked for no color when getting a (I paid for a very nice deluxe pedi) and was laughed at. Not a big deal but rude. Then when she was trimming my toes she cut me really badly in my skin, I was also scrapped nastily with the nail file. I'm only writing this because it's been almost two weeks and my toe bed is still in pain from her cutting me so badly with the tool. I wish I had just gotten up and walked out once she cut me. I did cry a little and someone got me some alcohol to clean it but it hurts so badly still. I hate to be in so much pain when I just wanted to relax. I would not recommend. The whole experience was lacking but this toe pain is icing on the cake. read more

Let me state this is a five star review! I came in with my friend, who was getting a full set, and myself just a color change. We showed them the pictures of what we wanted. They said okay go pick out colors. We were both confused because our pictures were ombré, for my friend, and a pink/orange marble for myself. While we were doing our best to match up colors, one of the nail techs came by us and we showed her the pictures and asked for some help. She asked if we were doing acrylic, we both confirmed. She then directed us to sit at stations to wait. She told me she would do mine herself. After sitting for 10 minutes, I watched the tech who said she'd do mine, start doing a pedicure. Mind you, we had made an appointment for this, where we had described over the phone what we wanted, and we expressed our understanding in that it would be a long appointment. So now that we've been here for at least 15 minutes and still not started or given clear communication on what was happening, I was angry. When I saw the tech start doing the pedicure, I looked at the nearest tech to me, working on a practice hand, and said hey wtf, did she seriously just start doing a pedicure? Wtf is she doing. She said she was doing my color change. The tech looked confused, spoke in a different language to the older tech sitting next to her, who had a client, who both then turned to look at me. This is also really irritating, because it would be helpful to understand what's going on, but the language barrier doesn't lend itself to that. Both the technicians seemed to brush off my outburst. After a few minutes, I looked around the room, at all of the techs, multiple of which did not have clients at that time. So I asked the nearest one, can any of them not doing anything do my nails? Like I made an appointment, I have money, can someone just take it? That's what I'm here for. I was then informed by the older tech that they only had one tech that could do acrylics, and that was herself, and the women who originally said she would do mine, but then started a pedicure instead. Right away, a completely different tech comes in from the back and starts working on my friend's full set, which didn't make sense, because the older tech had just told us only two of them could do acrylics. Before I could even say anything, the older one told me she would start mine as soon as she was finished with her current client. After the first 30 minutes of bs, Amy did AMAZING work!! She also apologized for the original tech, and said she didn't know why she told me she'd do mine, if she had to do a pedicure. She apologized for the disorganization and the wait, and came up with a design that was a little different than what I'd originally wanted, but would be quicker to do. And honestly it came out probably better than what I wanted before. This is DEFINITELY where I'm going from now on, however I'll be sure to make an appointment in advance, with Amy, by name. If you can get past the disorganization that seems to come from all nail salons, they really do good work. She also took care to clean up all edges, which I'm very picky about, as well as underneath the nail. read more

Went to the gym early this morning and decided to treat myself to getting my nails done. I came in as soon as they opened at 9:30 and the ladies there were very friendly and welcoming. I came in for a full set of acrylics but Lele talked me into getting dip powder for the first time. I've seen my mother get them before at a different nail salon and they looked um.. not good, so I was veryyy hesitant, but I'm glad I got them! They look just like acrylics and they costed the same, but she told me they last longer and they're healthier for your nails. And Lele was sooo nice the entire time. I really hate to give this review but it has to be done. Originally when I came in I just wanted to get a $30 cluster of lashes being that I won't be able to use them any longer than the duration of their time ( 2-3 weeks.) I got sat down and Nancy said they have 2 options of cluster lashes. The first one being $30 the advertised pricing and cluster. Then she said she had a "better" option for lashes which cost $50. The difference was the $30 cluster came in a box, and had "more visible glue on the lash that she glued to your eye lid" (which I don't know why it would be such a hassle to just take off before applying your own glue....) and the $50 option had "thinner, more natural looking lashes with next to no visible glue on your lash line, and she connects them to your eye lashes." Of course the $50 one sounded like a good option so I chose that, but I was sadly mistaken. It was nice for literally the first 10 minutes. As soon as I got into my car a lash already fell off. I ignored it being that maybe that one just wasn't on good. Let me just get into the rest of this review stating that I used to get fake lashes religiously for almost a year and they used to last the duration of the 2-3 weeks they're suppose to stay on your eyes. I know exactly how to take care of them. With that being said the next day was not pleasant at all. They started falling out throughout not even a whole 12 hours later. By the time a day and a half passed the lashes were bare in such noticeable spots that I just had to take them out. They fell out in chunks on the outside of my lash line & the middle. The inner part of my lashes were glued on good, but that was the only spot. It's really sad knowing I wasted $50 to have lashes for literally ONE DAY when they're suppose to last for 2-3 weeks. I definitely will not be coming back. It's unfortunate because she was a nice lady, but definitely out for her money and money only. No quality work there. read more

Decided to treat myself to a manicure.. and I now regret it. Apparently this salon only offers sns and gel polish. I decided to go with the sns. The technician was apparently rushing to do mine. Several fingers got cut and bled from the bit she was using, and afterwards I never saw her put any disinfecting solution on it (it was metal) she just threw it back in her drawer. I was also there at closing, so I saw them cleaning up. It has now been a week and a few days, the edges on it are lifting and some of them have already chipped. I just had the worst experience I've had at a nail salon. And it didn't have to do with the services I received on my toes and fingers. The lady doing my pedicure and manicure did a very nice job, although she did clip 2 cuticles so close that I bled. However, what really upset me was the outrageously overly-political and personally-offensive and insulting one-man diatribe that the young man, who is apparently an owner of the shop, carried on the entire time I was there. He did not care who was present nor did he care about the opinions of others. He was clearly only interested in hearing the sound of his own voice. I do not go to the salon at the end of my long work day to listen to political ranting and raving. I go for a relaxing experience to unwind and enjoy the attentions I pay for. This was the extreme opposite of that experience and I won't be returning to repeat that mistake. read more

I have been going to Jenny for a while. I followed her from a salon in Chesapeake. I drive to this salon from Norfolk - takes about 35-40 minutes. I scheduled an appointment at 6:25 PM like always. I got there at 6:15 PM and signed in. She had someone in her chair, which was fine. At 6:35, a gentleman told me that he was going to wrap my nails to remove the gel. Jenny came over at 7:05 PM and told me that she could not do my nails since she had to leave to go and get her baby and went back to the same client that she was working on when I got there. So I guess my time is invaluable. How unprofessional and inconsiderate. I told her and the owner that I had an appointment at 6:25, the confirmation was sent to me in a text message. They didn't care. So I wasted time driving there in traffic, all to sit for 50 minutes to be told that she could not help me. She knew this when I walked in the door. I came here a month ago to get a fill in and color. However ( not by my choice)that's not what I got. My gel nails was soaked off and my real name was filed and colored. The lady that did my nails asked if she could cut my real nails, I said I'd prefer to not have them cut. I knew my nails on one hand were much longer but she said she would have to put tips on 2 of my nails. I figured she would sculpt the other two that were shorter than the rest of my nails. When I realized she wasn't going to make them longer I asked her to fix it. She said she already did the powder and complained that she asked me if I wanted them cut. When I said i would pay her for the work she already did and I did not want her to go any further she held onto my fingers tight so I could not get up. It is very clean, well-appointed, and nicely decorated. There are plenty of spaces for the nail techs in addition to the pedi chairs; also a few massage tables as well as waxing. The prices are very competitive. I have gone to Nancy religiously since moving to VB because it's difficult for me to find someone who can do a good job on my nails so they don't lift. I'm very comfortable because I know her high standards of cleanliness will apply in this salon as in her prior ones. read more
