Booked a last minute appointment on Christmas and it was super easy to do online. They do require a card to book the appointment so make sure you grab your wallet while trying to book it! I booked with Chelsea (she had the best appointment I needed) and she was super nice. I was trying sugar scrub for the first time and I am not disappointed. This shop is a pretty good drive for me but it was so worth it! I walked in so nervous for my first Brazilian but the decor and music helped calm my nerves. Asia was very thorough in explaining what was going to happen, how to take care of the skin after the wax, and what to do if an allergic reaction occurred. Sugaring is an awesome alternative to hot waxing and I'm a huge fan after my visit to Asia. Asia has a great and professional personality and she knows what she's doing. I ask questions whenever I get nervous and Brazilian waxes are pretty intense but Asia was quick and quite the perfectionist - she spent a good 10-15 minutes trying to get every little small hair out. I have been to numerous places in America to get a Brazilian sugaring done and this is the best place I have ever attended! I AM SOLD! It was not very painful and in fact im some areas it was just a little snugging of the skin and that's it. On a scale of 1/10 the pain level was 3/10 compared to the other places. She was also very prompt,and thorough. I was done in about 30mins-45mins and this also included a lip wax. I live in Portsmouth and its worth the drive. I've been sugar waxing for a couple years now and recently moved to Virginia. I searched for a few weeks for a place here that does it which is odd because where I'm from, every wax place has the option to do sugar waxing. I finally found Asia and I'm so glad I did. She did such a fabulous job and made sure I was as comfortable as can be. She also recommended a few products for my horrible ingrown hair problem which was great! I would definitely recommend her and can't wait to come back for maintenance. SIDE NOTE: I love that Asia is kid friendly! She let me bring my toddler along to some of my maintenance appointments cause my husband was deployed, I don't know a lot of people, and my daughter doesn't do well with strangers at first plus my daughter is kind of high maintenance. It was really refreshing compared to the salons and spas that don't allow kids. UPDATE: I am now a regular with Asia, lol. And I finally have the time to do a vajacial, which she has been trying to get me to do for the longest time due to my ingrown hair problem. She exfoliated and then went to work digging some of the ingrowns out. Like I said I have a horrible ingrown hair problem so she couldn't get them all and I'll definitely be back for another one. It wasn't too unpleasant but I'll admit I did use the numbing lotion thing she sold me at my first appointment (which I use for every appointment and totally works btw). Due to it being my first time "sugaring" I was very nervous! Asia welcomed me as soon as I walked in the door. We went over process and went to the back. Asia explained the difference between "hard wax" and "sugar" as she set up everything. Overall it was not nearly as bad as I thought. I moved to Virginia Beach from Atlanta a little over 1 year ago. In Atlanta I went to a great place regularly for sugaring bikini waxing and honestly, once you go to sugaring from hard waxing, you never want to go back. I had to go back to waxing because I initially couldn't find anyone in this area licensed to sugar...until I found Braziliant! And thank goodness I did. The facility is clean and very well kept. I went to Braziliant about a week ago after a HORRIBLE first experience getting a Brazilian wax about three months prior somewhere else in Va Beach. This was my first experience getting sugared and let me tell you, ASIA IS AMAZING. When I tell you I came in with my nerves on 10,000, somehow Asia was able to calm my nerves. She was so personable! She listened to my fears and appeared very confident in her craft so I felt like I was in good hands. First - I'm an experienced sugar goer! I never skip appointments and I'm very well aware of the process. I've been sugaring for a few years with a highly experienced & certified professional back on the West Coast. That being said, I come to Asia's business with a very honest review: I recently moved to Virginia Beach and noticed that there aren't many businesses that offers sugaring - Braziliant does! Today was my first appointment and boy did I enjoy Asia's energy right from the start. Her business is located in the back of a hair salon in a cute and quaint room. Upon arrival new clients must fill out protocol to ensure they know how to take care of their skin before and after sugaring. She then gives you privacy to undress, wipe down, cover up any areas - and then the fun begins! Sugaring IS NOT easy, especially if you have a varying normal body temperature and slippery skin like myself. Before sugaring it's necessary that you have clean skin without ANY products. To ensure of this Asia, wipes down the desired areas to be sugared, sprays a toner to help make the hair perk up, and then a little bit of powder to prevent damp/wet spots as sugar wont stick to that. Sugaring has to be worked right in order for the hair to be removed from the bulb of the hair. Asia was very aware that my normal body temperature and slippery skin was going to be a bit of a challenge and managed to problem solve in choosing the right sugar paste to grasp my hairs from the root. Her method isn't rushed, she takes her time ensuring the sugar is surrounding every hair follicle and then tugs upward with a swift and quick whipping motion. (Slightly a stinger, but definitely nothing unbearable). Great success happens when you see the hair bulbs sticking out from the bottom of the sugar. I definitely saw those little bulbs after she sugared certain sections! Even greater success? Don't shave in-between sugaring, exfoliate your desired sugaring area, and return for your next appointment. Over time sugaring has proven to show that your hair becomes less coarse and not as thick in those undesirable areas with routine sugaring. It's also healthier than waxing with all natural ingredients, a plus for me because those lady parts are precious. And a little longer lasting result versus waxing. Overall Asia is great - she gets in there, so don't be shy - but you'll leave feeling confident and happy in what you paid for. I will be going again and again. If you're in the area contemplating BOOK your appointment now! Sugaring is one of the latest and greatest alternatives to waxing. First things first... making an appointment was very easy and Asia was very accomodating. She fit me in on a Monday. I arrived and the salon is hidden behind a dentist but still in a convenient location with a small parking lot in front. She was super friendly and the wax room is very well kept, clean, and cute. I did sugaring for the most part and she did a little hard wax to get what the sugaring didn't. I don't think I was in there longer than 15 minutes which is very fast for a brazilian. Brazilian sugaring seems to be latest and best hair removal technique out right now. I've never waxed before due to the horror stories from friends and movies however I learned about the sugaring technique while in California and decided to try it. Never tried waxing, so I don't have anything to compare it to but the sugaring process is not as bad as what I imagined (like the movie 40 year old virgin).
