Just moved to the area, walked in and got a full set. It was lumpy and uneven. He didn't speak English ( so he acted like) when I asked him to even out the length he ignored me and filed other nails shorter. When he completed my nails, he seemed to speak perfect English when it came to the price of the service. I paid $70 for very short uneven nails that were thick and oddly shaped. All that and they started to fall off two days later. What a waste of money and time. I will not be returning. Other potential customers beware!!!!! read more

Did a great job on my French acrylics and pedicure. Booked a lash lift but they ran out time? I came back an hour later and they said my lashes were too short. Overall good experience. read more

As far as walks in goes. I was seen in less than five minutes. I asked for a mani and pedi with gel polish and I showed them a reference pic with a pretty pink metallic nail design and the nail tech said okay later on I'm getting my feet done he asks me to pick a color and I am confused and I said "oh I showed you a picture already" and he just kept saying cat eye to me and I didn't know what that meant and eventually another worker came to help us out. And I noticed the nail tech was getting anxious and I couldn't understand what he said and eventually I'm getting all these different prices thrown at me so I got overstimulated and just said I want a basic French tip. The entire time I am in the chair I have the massage chair running because I assume that is what they are for, to be used. In the middle of me getting my nails polished he turns it off and I thought it just turned off by itself so I turned it back on and he turns it off and tells me "no, I'm painting and the chair shakes." It's a massage chair and it didn't really shake that much at least not to me but I have been to other salons where I haven't had the nail tech make me turn of my chair. That ruined my experience right there because the massage chair is my favorite part! And as far as the quality of my nails go I liked my nails and they do not look bad. I would come back to the salon again I just would prefer if I was being listened to and was able to use my massage chair. I do love the environment of the salon it is very cute and modern inside and very clean and very organized and they even had cookies out for their customers and the workers seemed happy and positive with each other and in general! read more

Honestly, by far, one of the best experiences I've had at a nail salon. I usually go to different nail salons and get a pedicure - I'm not faithful to any of them lol. Decided to stop by Sunny Nail Spa one random afternoon. They've recently opened and I've walked by them quite a bit - it's looks nice inside. Modern decor, large windows, good lighting. The interior is very new, clean, nice - and the bathroom was very clean and modern. As soon as I walked inside, Andy greeted me at the door; very welcoming and attentive. Provides a water and complimentary cookies. Even came by and explained the different pedicures on the menu. It made me feel valued I got the Volcano pedicure with green tea & aloe. It was relaxing. Nice to ppl watch downtown. The pedicure itself was nice. Massage chair was new and good. Relaxing ambience. Sometimes I work in boots so my feet and get humid, then dry and peel. Kim scrubbed the hell out of my foot and I loved it! I like that they kept their area very clean and put the dead skin in a trash bag instead of on the floor. It's the little things that I appreciate. It's right on the corner on Granby in downtown Norfolk. I'm happy to have a place like this downtown! Yes, it may be a little pricey, but that's how all downtowns work - your paying for the conscience of location! They also have a way you can make an appointment online - I'll definitely utilize that next time I go. Great attention to detail! Highly recommended! read more

WORST MINICURE AND PEDICURE EVER! My mani didn't last a week. I left the salon with two chips that weren't there when I walked into the place, and my gel polish chipped within two (2) days. I had an appointment with one person, but someone else did the work. I was in an out in 65 minutes for both services, and they were done separately by the same person. Run, don't walk somewhere else. What a waste of over $100.00. read more

Worse experience ever! I asked a question about the price of a service since online was one price and in person was another. The tech named Nana said I could just go somewhere else since I didn't agree. I was from out of town. Also, she talked about me the whole time in her native language to others on the phone. How do I know? I turned on my phone translator app and she talked the entire time to someone. Another customer asked a question and she told her she could just go somewhere else as well. I was going to have a pedicure done as well but I lost trust in them at that point and canceled it. Wi-Fi went off and they couldn't even give me a receipt for my cash transaction. She didn't even give me the correct shape I asked for. I will be visiting this town often but I will never set foot in there again. read more

Absolutely amazing!! I walked in for a full set and they took me in within like 5 minutes. Also the guy who did my nails was amazing! He not only gave me what I wanted but they looked even better than I excepted! The salon is so clean and so nice! I will absolutely be coming back here! read more

Greeted with a smile! I called about 15 minutes before I walked in to see if I could get in and get a full set before I go on vacation. She constantly checked in and made sure I was happy with the direction of the shape and color. Only thing that surprised me was there wasn't a hand massage / any lotion as part of the experience. It was just nails with some cuticle oil. read more

Please do not come here to get your eyebrows waxed. The lady who waxed my brows did such a horrible job. She took a huge chunk of my left brow, so now it's shorter than it usually is, and there is a bald spot where the tail begins. On the right eyebrow, it is crooked and does not look clean. When clients get their eyebrows done, they are supposed to be laying down so the technician can make sure the brows are even. However, she had me sitting up straight and she did not have a lamp that most experienced technicians use for better lighting. Never coming back ever again. read more

Great experience! I came in on a weekday afternoon and immediately got started with my appointment. I had only scheduled it the night before so I was glad they had a lot of openings. The salon is brand new and very clean. There are huge windows facing Granby St so lots of natural light and interesting scenery. Nana was my technician and she went above and beyond. She listened to all of my concerns and was very thorough. At the time the salon was having a promotion where you got a free hot stone massage with pedicures. It was a nice addition, but not totally necessary to have a good experience. We then moved on to the manicure and it was also great. Nana chose a great nail shape for me. I have no complaints. The price point for the salon is higher than other ones in the area but you definitely won't get as good of an experience. It's also so convenient to get to since it's in such a central location in downtown Norfolk. read more

I came to this salon to get an acrylic nail soak off. My nails were being soaked off in the solution, and then not too long after that the lady Kim started taking my nails off. She got a new nail from one of the nail kits to remove the nails. The nails were still not soft enough to be removed and she knew that. She took the nail from the kit, went around the edges, and yanked off one of my acrylic nails to the point where my nail started bleeding throughout the whole service. A portion of my nail is gone, she kept putting a blue solution on there and holding a paper towel to it, but it still kept bleeding. She never apologized or acknowledged what she did and still made me pay for the service. Will not come back here again. Beautiful salon though. read more

Sunny Nail Spa - Nail - Nail Technicians Near Me - Norfolk, Virginia

A very small place in the heart of downtown Norfolk. First, the good, I thought my pedicure came out very well. It's been two weeks and it still looks good. I had an appointment and was quickly brought back to a chair. Water provided. They advertise themselves as a respite from the bustling downtown., as a quiet and peaceful space. However, from my chair, there was right in front of me a large screen with a continuous loop of videos called military fails. People wiping out on motorcycles and mopeds, car accidents, slipping and falling, doing all kinds of stupid things and having all kinds of accidents. Then the other area where I had my nails dry there was another screen that had what looked like an episode of Duck Dynasty. I saw an alligator shot and killed then dragged, the carcass of a rabbit, and saw an old dog they didn't expect to live long. None of this made me feel serene or relaxed. I told my pedicure technician then I thought they did a good job on the pedicure, but that the atmosphere was not relaxing due to these videos. I doubt he is in charge of the videos, but hopefully he will tell the owner or manager. read more

The guy at the door was really nice and accommodating. Kim was great, I love my pedicure but I feel as if the rushed my manicure. I got standard clear nail polish but have nail polish pass my nail bed on multiple fingers. I asked for very low nails, that wasn't exactly what I received. The nails have not shape to them nor are they all even. read more

Booked a 1:30 appointment but that didn't really matter to them--I wasn't seen until 2:15. I live in nyc but broke a nail so I came here on a long work layover and was disappointed. They didn't ask what shape of nail I wanted, rushed though the entire appointment and I left upset. My nails took 20min for gel and I'm writing this review the next morning to let you all know one already chipped. Not surprising considering how rushed the service was. Quality was subpar at best and I can get a way better job done for CHEAPE in NYC. While I was waiting for my appointment I watched them yell at multiple customers for not having cash/venmo to tip with. Would not recommend. read more

I came into town looking for a nail salon. I've been in Georgia for so long, I forgot about any good quality nail salons then I found this gem. It's right in the city and the service is TOP TIER! the staff is super friendly and even with it being a smaller salon, everything is clean and up to date. They take their time with your service and even offer complimentary sodas and waters. I personally recommend this salon over even the salon in the actual mall. If you're in the city you have to check them out read more

Sunny Nail Spa just recently opened in downtown Norfolk and I decided to give it a shot given I live down the street and was also in desperate need of a pedicure. I got the deluxe pedicure and my heavens...I could not have been more treated and impressed then I was. Andy was phenomenal and incredibly nice. He thoroughly put his all into my service. My feet were truly pampered and made a new. Everything was wonderful and the massages/scrub had me melting into the seat I was so blissed out. Will definitely be making this a frequent spot to indulge myself. read more

The pedicure itself was fine. The manicure was not good considering she cut & filed my nails down to nothing.. so much that she cut me. The gel polish on my toes & hands was terrible. I think a 5 year old could paint in the lines better. I've only been here once, so maybe other nail techs are decent, but I will not be back to find out. read more

I want to like this place, but we have the overwhelming racist overtones here at another asain spot in norfolk. It was absolutely first: the vibe. when you look around, all the black people in the shop are being taken care of last, it was very clear we all were an afterthought. Then when you speak to them, they are completely ignoring you in some instances. I was not greeted at the door, my nail looks bad and smudged because one of the very very rude receptionists was trying to rush me out the door while I was letting them dry. One of the techs rolled their eyes at me? I again want to like this place but I won't be back. read more

They did a good job and were quick. I got the basic pedicure. I went with a group of friends and accommodated us all.

Disappointing and expensive...Made appointments for classic mani and deluxe pedicures for a bday celebration. Waited 20 minutes to be called. Why make an appointment? Had to keep asking for bubbles. They thought it was funny. 45 minutes into appt they finally asked if we would like something to drink. I hoped the massage would make up for it. Sadly it was light without any pressure they use a massage toy. Really? Oh you need to deal with her taking phone calls and he takes smoke breaks as well. This was not a pampering experience. I was embarrassed. I wanted this day to be special for my sister in law. I will end this on a positive....the chairs were very nice massage. read more

I've been here twice the first time wasn't so bad but the second time it wasn't the best... so the guy did my nails (I got a basic short acrylic set) the whole time I noticed the nails looked a little off it wasn't until I left that I realized they weren't how I usually have them. The cuticle part wasn't properly done and the shape was too wide and not squared. I would have gone back if I had time, however I didn't due an upcoming trip. read more
