The service here was disappointing, especially given the price. I brought my 16-year-old daughter in for prom prep, including brow and lip waxing, a pedicure, and a full set of nails with designs. I clearly explained everything she needed to the front desk, but that information was never communicated to the staff, which created confusion from the start. Lily, our nail tech, was kind and professional, and the nail designs looked good initially. However, my daughter's nails began chipping the very next day, which is unacceptable for a service meant for a special event. Lily also performed the waxing. While the process itself seemed fine, the wax used on my daughter's eyebrows left her face extremely red, which raises concerns about the products being used for facial services. On top of that, I waited over two hours and was not offered even a basic courtesy like a beverage. For a total of $183 plus a $50+ tip, the level of service and quality did not match the cost. Overall, while the staff was polite and the designs were nice at first, the poor communication, subpar results, and lack of attention to customer experience mean I will not be returning. I now have to find another salon in North Carolina to fix issues right before my daughter's prom. Update: another nail chipped...I will NEVER come back to this establishment! read more

I was driving around and noticed a new salon. It is very clean and trendy, a bit small and close together due to the layout, but it's a pretty salon with new chairs and tables. When you come in, you check in at the desk with an iPad, and the wait isn't long. I was getting a pedicure and decided on the milk-and-honey pedicure with hot wax. They have a host serving drinks, which is a plus, and the prices are reasonable. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is that I felt the pedicure was rushed. They set a timer--probably for a massage--but the lady turned it on once she started scrubbing my feet. Also, her painting of my toes was a little uneven. I recommend the salon; it's centrally located, but I wish there was more parking. read more

I returned to Alchemist Nails for a second visit after seeing they were running a 20% off discount leading up to back-to-school season. This time, I once again asked for almond-shaped nails but unfortunately, just like my first visit, I didn't quite get what I requested. The shape leaned more toward stiletto or ballerina rather than almond. It was a different nail tech from my first experience, so I was hoping for a better result, but it seems almond might not be their strong suit. On my third visit, I decided to try a pedicure instead, and that experience was completely different in the best way. The pedicure was relaxing, thorough, and honestly life-changing. My feet felt brand new, and I walked out feeling refreshed. So while I think I'll pause on getting my nails done here for now, I will definitely be coming back for pedicures. read more

Welcome to the Neighborhood, Alchemist Nail Bar - A Chic New Spot with Room to Shine I recently visited the brand-new Alchemist Nail Bar on Kempsville, and I have to say--it's a beautiful addition to the area. I stopped in after seeing they were offering 20% off services for their grand opening and decided to treat myself to a pedicure and dip powder manicure. The salon is spotless (as expected for a new location), with a modern, welcoming vibe. One small but appreciated perk? They offer complimentary mimosas while you're getting your nails done--a relaxing little touch that adds to the experience. My pedicure tech was a gentleman who was incredibly friendly and kind. While there was a slight language barrier, his attention to detail and professional demeanor made up for it. It was a pleasant experience from start to finish. After my pedicure, I waited quite a while to get started on my dip powder nails. I didn't have an appointment (walked in right when they opened at 9 AM), but I was the second customer there, so I was a little surprised by the delay. By 10 AM, the salon started to fill up quickly, so if you're planning a weekend visit, I strongly suggest making an appointment. As for the services: Pedicure - Very clean, well-done, but I do wish the foot massage lasted a bit longer. About six minutes just doesn't quite hit that "spoiled" level for me--but let's be honest, we always want a little more when it comes to a foot rub! Dip Powder Nails - Nicely done with good color selection. No complaints here. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but with the 20% discount, it felt more reasonable. Without the promo, it's definitely more of a treat-yourself spot--but given the quality and atmosphere, I'd still consider going back. Would I return? Yes--especially when I need a little "me time." The vibe is right, the team is friendly, and that mimosa didn't hurt either. Welcome to the neighborhood, Alchemist! My only suggestion would be where you dry your feet at it's kinda uncomfortable that you're facing your back is facing everybody. It would be nice if you could turn the table around the other way so that your back isn't to everybody it's very uneasy feeling. read more

I've been here 4 times now and after much consideration I've realiThey just suck. The atmosphere is cute and the free drink is nice but the actual work they do is just shitty. They put the timer in your face to be like here ten minutes set for your massage and then don't even do it. They are walking away getting stuff, cleaning up, just not massaging you.. Also they are sooooo sneaky with trying to upcharge you. I specifically tell them I want a certain pedicure then they come around and ask if you want a different scent in the middle of your already set pedicure (which is going to upcharge you to the next pedicure). And lastly the work is just rushed and shitty. They paint your nails and they already look grown out. Like paint the whole nail. Idk just shotty work. Edit: They took me back and to fix the situation he just painted over my 4 coats so I had thick ass paint. Someone noticed and after he finished they came over and removed it all and redid it and gave me 20% off. Good job fixing the situation but will 100% not be back. read more

I followed Tracy over from Wonder Nails because she is THAT girl. She keeps my nails looking nice and fresh and executes any inspo pic I show her. If you're looking for a new nail tech, I recommend Tracy and Jessica as they are both amazing at what they do. The nail spa is clean and luxurious. The added mimosas are a plus as well . I love it here! read more

Came on Sunday, got a full set, by Monday my thumb nail started lifting. Couldnt get in until Thursday, now three fingers have lifted. Waited an hour for assistance. Wanted the three lifts to be repaired but also asked for other nails to be filed down because they were so thick. Was told " I don't have time and no one else does either" but when I came in I told the receptionist exactly what I wanted. What did the receptionist tell you because if no one coincidentally didn't have time for what I wanted, I would have never waited an hour after getting off work. The shop is shiny and it's new and they do all the cute little designs but the laying and filing of acrylic sucks. Also, as I'm waiting for a fix, another customer came in complaining about a shotty job and also needed a fix. Never again. I'd rather have clear for the rest of my life then to have a full fresh set lift in One Day! read more

Came their opening day and was very excited to try a new salon. I haven't gotten my nails done in a while so the 40 percent off deal definitely got me in the door. When I got there, the line was wrapped around the building which was to be expected. After waiting for them to opening and waiting in line we got to the front and were told they would call us once they were ready (we were a group of 4 btw) Fast forward maybe an hour and a half to two hours later they called and said they were ready. When you walk in you definitely get the classy vibe from this place. Tons of bright light and clean minimalist aesthetics. I got a gel x full set with cat eye and chrome. Compared to my inspo pic, the gold lines came out a little thicker than I anticipated but they still looked really good. There wasn't a ton of nail prep beforehand and the nail tip was applied with a different type of glue than what I usually get but so far they have held up pretty nicely. Overall, I would be back at this nail salon. Everyone was nice and Jessica (nail tech) did a fantastic job! read more

Expensive, bad service, nails didn't even turn out good. Tony cut me. Even after I told him he cut me and he apologized, he just kept filing. read more

I'm very disappointed I am not giving this place 5 stars because aesthetically this place looks like a 5 star. Breaking down. Customer Service: They are nice and welcoming. Pedicure: The tech I got was very obviously rushing. There was no reason to. I got there at 9:30am as they opened and no one was waiting. He set a timer and kept looking at it. Within 20 minutes of me sitting on that chair he was already putting color on my nails. I could still my sock lint under some of my nails! When I asked him to go back he took it off one nails and kept on painting. I had to come home and remove dead skin. On the bright side, the looked good after the paint hid what he didn't clean. Acrylic fill: The chair you sit on is too low in comparison to the which caused me to have to sit up straight the entire time. I'm 5'5. It wasn't the most relaxing. The fill was great and truly only dislike the fact that she left polish on one of my fingers. I'd come back just for the fill. Overall, I'm not impressed but I wouldn't not comeback but it would only be for hands. read more

I cannot recommend this salon based on my recent experience. The environment and service were both deeply disappointing and, frankly, dangerous. First and foremost, I observed staff reusing single-use materials between clients, which raises serious concerns regarding sanitation and health protocols. I have also learned that many of the technicians here are not properly licensed. This lack of professional training is evident, as other customers have reported being physically injured and left bleeding during services. Furthermore, the professionalism at this establishment is non-existent. I was treated with blatant disrespect, and the environment felt hostile; the behavior from the staff was unprofessional and, at times, racially insensitive. Beyond the atmosphere, their business practices are dishonest. They utilize hidden fees, frequently charging more than the price initially discussed without any justification. I have also learned that management exploits their own employees, taking a disproportionate portion of their pay through unfair deductions, meaning the high prices customers pay do not benefit the staff. Finally, do not bother attempting to book an appointment; they do not honor them and will force you to wait indefinitely. It is clear that management does not value their customers or their staff. Given the severe health risks and unethical management, I strongly advise everyone to save their time and money and go elsewhere. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Salon was not filled with customers to warrant a hour wait. Once I was finally able to be serviced, I waited another 10-15 min before someone came to start my pedicure. Unfortunately, I received chemical burn from callus remover on both feet. I informed the tech my feet were burning and she looked at me as if I were exaggerating. 3 times I alerted her before she washed the chemical off my feet. Lack of transparency about pricing and overall poor service. I will not be back. read more

I had to give 1 star. I gat a fill in, & pedicure. Only to get home and my toenail is broken. They did a rush job on my pedicure. It is just a numbers game she was rushing to get other customers. Not satisfied at all and paid $141 .00 read more

I love this nail salon. They're very nice they give you all you can drink drinks with alcohol and without they have coffee as well. They do a really good job on the nails. I love them. I personally got cat eye this time I like that when they give you the foot massages like a timer, so you know how much time you get. Also, I love that sometimes they'll give you like a complementary nail oil. I like the one that's lemon scent. It smells so good me and my boyfriend use it. read more

Honestly, i'm disappointed I even have to make this review but I've had enough spending hard working money on horrible service. Yes this place is aesthetically pleasing, but the service and professionalism is horrific. On SEVERAL occasions i've made appointments only to get there and we have to wait 30 plus minutes or the person I requested isn't even working and I can't be serviced. There is a female petite manager thats always there & claims she over looked something and makes excuses about any error then talks foul about customers in her language as if we don't have translation devices, it's 2026. I only get my nails done with Tracy being that a lot of people there don't do as good as her with the quality and designs, so when I make an appointment that's who I expect. Nearly everytime I go I take my mother, so that's two full sets and two pedicure plus waxing, i've spent thousands at this location over the year and they act clueless and careless everytime. currently searching for a new salon. read more

I went on a Saturday right when the shop opened. I got a regular mani and pedi and was seen right away. They made sure I was okay and offered me something to drink as well. I got clear gel on both nails and toes, and they are still holding up! I would visit again soon! read more

I recommend the business bc it's clean, neat, fast, and everyone was nice. They take good care of you but what I really didn't like is doing stuff I didn't ask for. And since it was my first time there (I don't go get pedi's much) I didn't know what was included and what wasn't. I went based on a patients recommendation. She said she paid $48 while I paid $78... when they bring out hot towels and paraffin wax, it's gunna cost more.. that's my fault, I should've asked... all n all, it was a good experience read more

People were very nice but the service was not it. I went in for a gel pedicure. I was burned by hot wax on my leg. And my big toe nail was cut crooked, along with filing on my skin that I kept snatching my toes and i had toe nail polish all over my cuticles. It was a beautiful place but the services provided aren't necessarily up to par personally or maybe i just caught them on a bad day. Probably won't come back. read more
