I had a very odd experience. I originally made an appointment over the phone. We had it scheduled and everything. The day comes and I show up and the lady was shocked and said that the was no appointment. Like miss ma'am made it seem as if I was an intruder. I was initially perplexed and embarrassed. This place was great! I got my manicure done by Charlotte. She was so amazing, kind, and had an eye for detail. I'd literally come back just for her because she was so sweet! I typically get a French tip dip manicure, but unfortunately they do not do dip French tips, and they only had a gel top coat for dip manicures, so if that's a dealbreaker for you, be advised. I'll probably keep looking around for somewhere that does dip French tips and a dip top coat, but still had an excellent experience! read more

So on this lovely, hot Sunday we ventured out in search of a new nail salon. Low and behold, the salon I normally go to isn't open! Boo! I was ready to cry! So we googled nail salons and found this place. We pull up and the parking lot is pretty much empty. Not sure if that's a good sign or not but we went in anyway. There are only three people doing nails, so we check in thinking we are next. Literally thirty minutes later, my son's girlfriend is getting her nails done and I'm still waiting for my pedicure. Now, in the salon's defense, there was a patron in there that was so extra it took a while for the female technician to take care of her. I finally got my pedicure just shy of waiting an hour, and I really feel bad complaining because it felt great. I will say that the techs here are quick and their work is good. I only got a pedicure because I was with my son's girlfriend, and her nails were done quickly enough to where I didn't want her to wait any longer for me to get mine done. At $70 for a manicure and pedicure (before tips), it's worth the wait. But note to self, start making appointments! read more

As a walk-in my first impression of the salon was good. Clean, welcoming & professional. Ms. Lee was my nail tech and she took her time with me. My only request was to allow my feet to soak a little longer and after that I was good to go. She did just that. I got a basic pedicure; currently $35 with gel polish; currently an additional $15. Bringing my service total to $50. My feet still feel soft and look amazing. I highly recommend this business and if I'm EVER in town again needing some pampering, I'll be sure to return & request Ms. Lee. I came here because of the great reviews and the fact that they open at 9a. My dip powder manicure was rushed and not done correctly. I've never had a nail salon do a gel top coat?? The whole point of SNS powder is to be a healthier option for your nails. However I went along with it as I didn't want to be THAT person. It usually takes me at LEAST an hour to get my nails done but I was out of there in 30 mins. My nails ended up lumpy with uneven coating and residue left all over my skin. My nails are also very thick, which I do not like. Not everyone who had SNS on their list of services can do it correctly, BEWARE. I will not be back. !!!Update!!! Shortly after posting my initial review I was contacts by the owner who immediately asked me to come in and have my nails fixed. I am SO glad that I did. The same lady did my nails. Since moving to norfolk I decided to look for a new nail salon close by with good reviews and nail techs that can do just about anything. i started off by getting gel pedicures my first couple times. they were done very well and fast. last week i decided to come in to get my nails done. an acrylic full set with a pink french tip. about medium length. my appointment was at 6 and they close at 730. my pedicure was rushed but looked great none the less. my nails were done quickly as well and everything looked just about perfect. I could've used a little more even filing and thorough painting on the tips. a week passes and all it took was my boyfriend sitting on my hand for less than a second for a nail to snap. i don't know why but they look like i need a full already. i really enjoy this place bc of how fast and well they work as well as how close it is to where i live. i want to keep coming but i'm nervous next time i will get the same result. nails looking perfect is essential for my job so hopefully they can all do equally as well as i've heard ryan does. read more

Go to Ryan, Ryan I believe is the owner, he's the most skilled and does a great job, he's great with communicating with customers would like/if they like this or that which im sure saves for a lot of confusion. He can do a lot of old fashioned, basic, and contemporary styles which allows him to attract a wider range of customers. He can even do some of the more popular bejewel/extravagant styles as well but not too many so come with a photo. Also he stays booked and busy so make an appointment so you won't have to wait/come back another day. The salon itself is pretty small but not cramped, the atmosphere is pretty normal, they keep a tv n/light music to kick up the ambiance a bit, I like this place, I've been a few times although I'm still trying out other technicians as well but if the others don't work out I know I've got a solid backup in Ryan/this shop. read more

I had already driven to another nail salon before this asking for a full set and the receptionist told me "absolutely not" (they had a walk ins welcome sign). Originally I wasn't going to post my review because after calling she said would fix them for free and was very apologetic. However, my gel pedicure has now already chipped 3 days later ... so here's my review. First I want to start by saying I've been to this salon a year earlier and loved it, my nails and toes looked amazing. This time not so much. My acrylic nails were and still are very much so uneven, none of the shapes match ( AND NO ITS NOT MY FLIPPEN NAIL BEDS, I do my nails myself usually and the shapes always match sooo) , there was acrylic all up in the underneath which should have been cleaned out, and the acrylic is very much so lumpy on almost every nail. ALSO, THEY CUT 4 of my fingers cuticles open.. my cuticles hurt horribly and the only help they offered was "buy some ointment". And last but certainly not least, I got my toes done and paid the extra money for gel because usually it lasts like 3-4 weeks. It's already chipped on multiple toes 3 DAYS LATER!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR HARD EARNED MONEY.. go elsewhere read more

Seriously if I could give this place 9 stars I would. Came in to get a fill and the lady instantly gives me a cut down with out even asking. I wear my nails at a mid length and she cut them to fingertip length. Then proceeding to cut my finger and my nails are so thick, uneven and short. I went to this location yesterday and the tech Ryan worked on my nails. I usually go to mk nails but my tech there was busy. I am extremely picky about my nails because of previous butchery from certain nail salons in the area, but Ryan did a great job. Acrylic overlay with gel polish, almond shape with a sharp point, same thing every time and he did not disappoint. They also have a large selection of gel polish to choose from which is a plus. I am HUGE on yelp reviews. I do a lot of research before going anywhere so I am beyond disappointed with my experience here. I will note it with everyone else in the salon seemed to have a quick experience and had cute nails. Maybe I just got screwed. For a hot stone pedicure and dip nails it has taken over 2 hours. The pedicure was over 1.5 hours. I had to ask for someone else to do my dip because otherwise it would've probably taken another 1.5 hours for my hands... I made it to my car before I noticed my gel polish was already coming off my toenails. So I'm back inside getting it fixed because for $95, as irritated as I am, I wasn't going to go get it fixed elsewhere. Thankfully they said there is a 3 day warranty so if anymore peel, I'll be back. My nails themselves look decent. I was in a hurry after the long pedicure so left my shape how I came in, but after I asked to refile the back towards my cuticle, (they looked uneven and clumpy), they look fine. I'd come back to get my nails done by Ryan, since he specially had great reviews but otherwise I wouldn't be back. Lily was very apologetic for my pedicure taking so long, which I appreciate, (she did my dip) but it doesn't alleviate the fact that I didn't allot for 2.5 hours of my day to be doing nails and had other errands to run before work. read more

As far as skill, the technician was great. I really liked the shape and design of my nail extensions the three times I've had them done by him. I really appreciated how he took his time to ensure that my nails turned out to my liking, and that he offered his input as far as the designs; it was nice. However, I will say that the gel polish didn't make it to a week each time-disappointing, but not a big deal. Overall, I was impressed and pleased with my experience at the salon; and during that last visit, I booked an appointment for my sister to have her nails done by the same technician I had. At the conclusion of my service, I confirmed with him about my her appointment, and was assured that it was set. On the appointed day, my sister arrived on time, and was looking forward to it the entire week. Once she entered, she didn't receive a warm welcome at all. The same technician that booked her appointment and did my nails a few days before turned her away , without even consulting the schedule log. He told her that they didn't have an appointment for her. So my sister rang me about the situation, I told her that he might have placed it under mine; and the reply to that was something along the lines of the weekend being booked and that they do not have appointments. I was flabbergasted. After that, I have not gone back because it was frustrating and embarrassing.
