Today, I came here looking for a fun experience for my girlfriend who is dealing with dementia. She loves pampering, and it's Mothers Day weekend. I wanted to spoil her. Her husband surprised me with the visit, so I could not plan. We drove around from nail shop to nail shop. The manager was so kind and understanding that he literally fit her into their busy schedule. They pampered her with a spa deluxe manicure and pedicure that was executed flawlessly with a hand and foot massage. The sanitation standards were excellent. Newly sanitized tools for each customer, plastic bowl covers for the pedicure bowls, covers and wipe down of manicure table. Superclean shop. No dust on a picture or light. Loved it! The prices are very reasonable. There are two WALLS of nail color to choose from. This store has its own parking lot and it is easy to see your car from the store. Very safe and well lit. The location is directly off Portsmouth Boulevard next to the mall and beside many restaurants, so you can get your nails done, shop, eat, then grocery shop all within 1 mile. That's convenient! My first time here, I was thoroughly pleased. My normal nail tech at another shop wasn't available soon enough and I was in an emergency situation... my nails needed rescuing! I searched nearby nail shops on Yelp and came across a few, but this one here stood out and it was only five minutes away from my current location at the time. I walked in and it was busy already by 11 am on a Saturday. I happened to see a familiar face and asked her opinion of the shop and she assured me that they are good. Cool... a little bit of relief. I waited about 45 minutes before I was asked to sit in a chair to be serviced. I so cannot remember the tech that completed my fill-in, but she was great! I was satisfied with my finished product. Of course I can say this and that about my fill-in, but no need, overall, I am completely satisfied with this place. I'd recommend you give them a try. I plan to make this shop my back up shop in case my number one nail tech is unavailable. The shop itself: clean, airy and the service is fast! There are at least five techs present. I'd say business here is pretty steady. The waiting area... not a lot of seating, but I think this is why they try to get the customers in and out by providing fast service. I even witnessed the techs suggesting "regular customers" or even "walk'ins" to come back later instead of sitting and waiting. - Great customer service here! Instead of just letting the customers sit and wait, why not alert them how long the wait will be - I love it! This store is located in the middle of two other businesses: healthcare business and a gym. Parking is decent. Just enough spaces are available around the shop. But there is parking all around, so I doubt parking is ever a problem. This shop is located off of the busy Portsmouth Blvd. and among plenty of eateries and shopping. I really wanted to like this place because the ppl were so nice.John was my nail tech and he was really friendly. Well to start I got a full set with gel polish and in 4 days my gel polish started chipping which has never happened. When I was getting my nails done a lady came back in because it had been less than a week and she had the same issue. So I went back and they repolished this time it lasted about 10 days. It's been less than 2 weeks and 9 out of 10 nails are lifting and I usually get a fill in at 3 weeks unless one breaks.. but this one of the worse nail jobs I've had in a long time. read more

Went to get my nails and feet done, my fill in was a 7/10 .. could be better application, but I'll live. When it came to my feet, I have acrylic, in which 2 were broken .. I had someone that doesn't know how to do acrylic. Someone had to come and do that process and she basically polishes. To start, one acrylic toe was replaced, the other was camouflaged with more acrylic, not fixed. I had to show her one flick and it's broken which it fell off in the process of getting my nails done. Fast Forward, the shaping of my toes were off etc. after 2 mentions and tries, I gave up .. ready to go. I even had to ask to clean up the polish that was on my skin! Time to pay, I was asked was I happy and I stated "no" he apologized and charged me full price for the mediocre services and proceeded to ask did I want to sign up for future points ... umm, NO. I decided to try this nail salon because of a few of the reviews. My regular nail tech (with another company) was/is on a little break. I have been here 3 or 4 times and I will say that it is a typical nail salon. However, they do have more colors than I usually see. The first time I went to John and the next few times I went to Tracy. They both are pretty good. However, I prefer Tracy first. I will try the others in the future. I am pretty picky with my nails. OF course, with anyone new it takes time for them to get to know your preferences (and I am pretty particular with my nails). In due time, I can see them being almost perfect. I will return for service and will post pics for you to see soon. Here are a few pros: 1. They have a reward system! You register and check in with your phone number. As your points add up, you can use them for services. 2. Location is great....near a few good stores and restaurants. 3. They are pretty nice and the place is clean. Cons: Anytime I make an appointment I have to wait to be serviced. It is not a huge deal. But, for those of us with a busy schedule it's good when you make an appointment and everything flows. Someone mentioned a smell but I did not detect any. My advice, call for an appointment...but, be prepared to wait a little bit. read more

I am absolutely furious with my experience. My nails are trash! I came in with long nails that I have been growing out at a different location. I went here because my nail shop was closed for the holiday and I'm leaving with trash, bloody, short, uneven, horrible color (because apparently the colors I picked couldn't be used so I had to settle with a "close match"), UGLY, and dirty( not once did she ask me to wash my hands) nails. I will never ever return. Sure my pedicure was bomb a couple months ago but trust I won't return. It wasn't even busy!!! There was only 1 other person in there besides me and I arrived at 9:38 when they open at 9:30. Words can't even describe my thoughts. WAIT TIME: It was my first time coming to the shop so I made an appointment about 8 hours before I arrived but it was still a 25 to 30 minute wait. I would still suggest making an appointment rather than a walk-in. STAFF & ENVIRONMENT: The staff there seemed to be nice and friendly. There were a lot of 'usuals' so I take that as a good thing. The women (forgot her name!) who did my nails always checked to see if I liked what she was doing which I greatly appreciate. The shop itself was slightly dated but no reason not to pay a visit! NAILS: I requested oval acrylic nails, which can be difficult to achieve. I was a little nervous at first because there was a lot of mistakes and bumps in the beginning but the end results were good, but not great. Now I asked for a gold sparkle polish and I was only given 3 choices. Thankfully one of the polishes matched what I was looking for. Broke my middle fail and needed it fixed. Literally ONE nail. Tech pretty much has acrylic covering my cuticle. And it's noticeably different and ugly. I came here based on the rave reviews, but am disappointed to have received a partial pedicure. As I walked out of the shop, another customer said, "Wow, that was fast for you", "I agreed with a smile on my face, and responded, "Thats because she didn't massage my feet, at all". On top of thats she cut my big toe nail waaaaay to short, and the overall job was mediocre. However, I LOVE the sanitary measure that they use on all pedicures; a lining in the basin, and new tools. I had to take her back to get fixed which thankfully only took about 15 minutes. Later that evening before she left to go to prom, her toenail polish started chipping. By far, the WORST NAIL SALON EXPERIENCE EVER!! I went in on a Tuesday around lunch time. The establishment is very small and next to a gym. There was no close parking at all. I wasn't greeted immediately after walking in. There were only a couple people in the shop but the wait was extremely long. After about 30 minutes waiting, I was taking to do my acrylic fill-in first. The tech was rough, rude, and not very friendly at all. She used very little acrylic which left my overlay very thin and fragile. The nail polish was very lumpy and she just continued using it. I ended up having to request she remove the polish so that I can pay and go somewhere else. I was charged $20 for that foolishness! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and I definitely would never go back. read more
