This is my third time here, and honestly, this was probably my best experience so far! I'm not sure if they read my previous review or if it was simply because they were less busy, but they actually cleaned my cuticles during the manicure this time!! I also really love how efficient their process is. They remove my polish, have me soak my fingers while they work on my pedicure, and then finish up with the manicure. It makes the whole appointment flow really smoothly without feeling like I'm sitting around waiting. Just a heads up: they only accept cash for tipping. However, some of the nail techs have a QR code for Venmo/Cash App, so I was able to use that instead. There's also an ATM in the salon if you prefer to get cash. The salon also seemed cleaner this time, which I appreciated. I think I'm going to start trying to come when they're less busy. I usually go on weekends, but this time I went during a weekday and had a much more pleasant experience overall. Still not a 5 because of the priceyness. read more

Update: I called on my way home from the shop, they told me to come back, but did mention that Fridays are a busy day for them, but they would get me in, and would treat me like a "walk-in". I called about 45 min before coming in, and was quickly shuffled back to the same girl who did my nails the first time. I don't have any issues with her, but I did ask to be seen by someone else- this was ignored (or maybe they didn't hear me). I did down at the stable and the original girl feverishly starts filing my nails down. Now they are paper thin, which is what I didn't want. She returned back to other client and continued to work. As I sat there for a good 45-60 min, I watched other girls come in and were seated nearly right away. During my wait, my niece had a full set put on. I went to the gal who did her nails, the same gal with whom I had spoken on the phone with earlier, and she told me my only option was to get in line with my original nail tech. I asked for a refund, and was told no. She eventually gave in and did some filing and painted them clear (I will say for whatever reason she started to paint my blue nails white?‍) The following day, I chipped my paper thin thumb nail on a door, despite being told that the "thinness didn't make them more brittle". read more

Went here after many online recommendations. The online scheduling was great and easy. I just wish I had received a confirmation in case I forgot the time. There are plenty of nail techs. The number of color options is overwhelming but definitely a plus. The removal of my gel polish was quick Overall a good experience. Prices are reasonable. The techs are no nonsense so if you are looking for a talkative experience, you may want to look elsewhere. Three stars due to one of my nails(gel manicure) chipping after two days and two other nails chipping after 6 days. I would give them a second chance but hopefully the results last longer. read more

I've had two appointments at The Nail Box so far, both with Chloe, and I've loved my nails each time. I'm very particular about my dip powder and nail shape, and Chloe has gotten it right every time with no issues. The only possible con I can point out is that they use a gel coat over the dip which I'm not used to, knowing that it can sometimes lead to premature chipping/peeling. Also, they are a little bit on the pricier side compared to some shops in the area! All in all I'm happy to have found this place after struggling to find someone in the area who could do my nails exactly how I like them! read more

I got my nails done here, not too long ago, and I came in for a fill. A fill is only supposed to be about $60-$70. I had called and scheduled to fill because some of my nails were chipped. While I was getting my nails done, the man doing my nails told me that I needed a complete soil off in a completely new set which I knew wasn't true so I said I would just rather get a fill. He continued to pop off and soak off all of my nails, and I told him that I only asked for a fill, and he proceeded to tell me that I would only pay for a fill and not a full set. Come to check out my what was supposed to be $70 payment turned out to be $115. I was so shocked and confused and tried to tell them that I did not ask for a full set. I only asked for a fill. And just told me that I needed to pay it. I couldn't fight it anymore because I had somewhere to be, but I ended up paying $315 for my very short plain colored nails. I left without tipping because this is just ridiculous read more

Stopped in for no appt no chip removal. They said they could take me. 3 people working and teenage son sitting on the phone at the front desk. Maybe owner couple and some other woman, who removed my no-chip polish. I don't get my nails done regularly. I don't know what to expect but, what I walked away with can't be right!! I ended up with the guy after I complained about the gouges from the woman tech. His English was very poor. I told him to cut them all off since they were destroyed. One customer came in and started with the older woman then switched to my tech when she was done with me. Now I have to grow the nails all the way out from the damage, they are splitting and breaking all the way down. read more

Made appointment so I wouldn't be squeezed in.Front staff checked me in but he was not very welcoming. Very rushed experience. Nail file for feet looked very used. When I got my manicure the equipment was taken out of fresh packaging so that was a relief. When I get my nails done I want to be able to relax not feel like I'm in a hurry so the next person can sit in my chair. read more

Love my nails! The Nail Box is close to where I work so I decided to try it today over my usual spot near home. I got a mani/pedi with dip and gel and my nails look fantastic. They were very detail oriented, I will definitely be coming back again. read more

Very spa like experience with friendly staff. Good music station as well. I recommend them

The tech doing my nails did a great job! I made the switch to this nail salon because they could do more detailed designs. They immediately sat me and only took an hour. I had been going to the same nail salon for almost 3 years prior to my visit and I had a much better experience at The Nail Box than I have had at the other salon. The only downside is the price but other than that I had a great experience!! read more

My reason for 3 stars is because i really really wish this salon would take a couple hours a week to do a deep clean. The stations are dirty, the nail storage is dusty and crusty and the floor some tlc My first time i had Bonnie and she was amazing and fixed my nails up so nice i was so relieved compared to what i had walked in with. Yesterday (my second time) i was sat with a different woman & requested the same color, she gave me a different one but i didn't complain cause it ended up being so similar. she did cut me with the drill and was super super quick like she was in a hurry which i didn't care for but i left satisfied because they look so frickin good! i will be back again tho. gotta keep trying to find a nail place that works for me. read more

my go to nail salon!! I was surprised to see so many bad reviews. I have been going here since they opened and have always had a great experience. They do great pedicure and do a great job with my nails. My only complaint is that they have gotten pricey within the last year but so has every other salon. I really like the owner and other staff I have met. I would also recommend you make an appointment at least an hour in advance because it does get pretty busy in there. read more

Terrible experience with their pedicure this week. The gel polish got in between my nail and skin on multiple toes, and then they cured it under the lamp and burned me since it was directly on my skin. The person doing my nails also did a terrible paint job on my toes and there was so much space between my cuticle and the paint, my nails look like they shrunk lmfao. The shape of my nails was boxy and ugly. I've gotten plenty of pedicures from here before so this was very disappointing. Also, they injured my fingers the last time I came here to get my acrylics done. My nails are really healthy but they were constantly burning from how the acrylic was being incorrectly applied and how long the nail artist was applying the drill bits to my nails right by my cuticles. Extremely stressful and uncomfortable as they don't understand English and I tried to express why I was unhappy. They also dumbed down the design I chose by a ton because they couldn't do it. Apparently the design I chose off of their own Instagram was painted by another staff member who wasn't available so they assigned me someone else who struggled immensely with it. He had to redo the same nail 4-5 times and looked like he was going to cry. Overall it came out to over $130 + tip. Super not worth the subpar experience + inferior nail design! I would rather pay $130 more and get my nails done somewhere where they won't be abused and the staff can actually execute the design properly. I came here pretty regularly last year but I guess staff have come and gone within the last year. New staff sucks compared to old staff. Not coming back here for sure. read more

Relocated here from south Florida & I am convinced this state can't do nails; better yet anything other than acrylic which I haven't done in years. I don't know why I didn't learn the first time I came here, they claimed to know how to use builder gel and I left with stone looking nails and a messy gel pedicure. The owner/manger/ whoever she is had an attitude. This time I was desperate to get my nails done so I figured you can't mess up dip powder nails, I tried to go in there with a positive attitude but was quickly reminded why I will never do my nails in this state again. A man did it and was so rough, he used so much glue on the tips and still my nails were looping like flippers. There was no apex and he was rushing like he just wanted to be done. I said nothing! Since I knew better than to go back read more

Bottom line: I left satisfied, but for the price- I was hoping to be impressed. The hunt for my regular nail salon continues... I got a pedicure at The Nail Box, and it was fine. I just got polish, so I don't know how well they do designs. My pedicure looked good and felt relaxing. The prices were a bit more expensive, so I was hoping for more. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go to The Nail Box, but I think you can find somewhere better for a better price. read more

The first two times I went the service was outstanding no problem. I was thinking I found my new nail salon. The third time I went I was expecting the same quality of work and I was so wrong. I left with enough acrylic on my nails for two fills I had two nails needing replaced he just added more acrylic and didn't fix it And yes I did say something and he acted like he didn't understand so I believe him To add salt to the wound he changed me ten dollars more than the last time. I was told because I had two nails needing repair? He did not repair anything I paid and I will never go back read more

This place started out nicely but had become quite dirty. Nobody speaks English enough to understand so the manager interprets and there's alot of yelling back and forth. She is on a walk talky and trying to do nails at same time. My hands had some black stuff on it when I left. Maybe lint from hot towel. Couldn't wait to wash up. The table top and black cushion where I had my hands for a dip nail was disgusting. At one point the guy doing my nail borrowed the file from lady next to me. I know they do this but I didn't wanna see it go from doing hands next to me to my own. The pedicure area is cleaner but the manicure area is beyond dirty. The chairs, the counters, behind counter. Hard to look at while getting nails done. Do they do a good job...yes. if they can understand you. read more

I go to HAN. He is very attentive and does a really well job and cares about how you feel. I highly recommend this place and him.

So every other month I drive out to Suffolk to visit a friend of mine, and we now go to the NailBox to get our nails done and to catch up! It's quite a drive for me living in Virginia Beach. But it's worth the drive to come here. I don't understand some of these one star reviews where people say they weren't happy and didn't say anything... If I'm not happy with some thing, I point it out! Maybe they were having a bad day. In life if you're not happy you speak up.!! you don't come to yelp to write nasty reviews without giving someone the opportunity to make you happy! Reasonably priced and great atmosphere with wonderful employees. Anyway, just needed to add my two. Cents. read more

Over priced for the services provided. To spend $38 (before tip) on a regular (no gel) pedicure, and to be in & out in 20 minutes is wild. They hardly scrubbed my feet. I basically received a color change. But that is the way most salons are servicing customers now. read more

I'm adding pictures, but what I asked for and what I received were two totally different things. They seemed unsure if they could do it, switched my nail tech to three different people, but when I asked if I should just pick a different design, they told me no and that they could do it. They in fact could not do it, and the guy said he couldn't do it bc I didn't get artificial tips so my nails were too short. It's very frustrating to spend your money on something and get nails you absolutely hate after being told they could do what you wanted. The picture I showed them is very clearly matte, and I'm so unhappy with my nails. I don't think I'll be returning here. read more

This is my second time at this nail salon. One of my favorite things is that it opens at 9am on Saturdays. The two times I've gone I got there at 9 and was seen immediately. I hate sitting and waiting and haven't done that here. I've had a gel manicure and spa pedicure that I've been pleased with. Was offered a bottle of water the first time, but not the second. I just want to say how important it is to note and praise people when you have good service. I want to say THANK YOU to the Nail Box for outstanding customer service. I googled and I had over twenty-five nail salons to go to in a 2.5 mile radius. I decided to try The Nail Box to give them a try. First of all I was greeted immediately upon walking into the doors. The ambiance was very tranquil and modern. I had an appointment for an "Indulge Me" pedicure. I was WOWed!!! My tech did such a good job that I was fast asleep. My toes were gorgeous and very soft. I decided to make an appointment for the next morning and get my nails done after not having them done since COVID. This was another great experience. Jessie was awesome! I had a wonderful pedicure here a week ago. We did a walk-in on a Sunday and even though they were fairly busy they got me and my friend back pretty quick. We did the Pampered package and had a mimosa while two very kind and through nail artist worked us over! I only had two small complaints but not enough to knock off a star. I have been going to The Nail Box for well over a year, probably more like two. There were some breaks in there when I tried to maintain my natural nails, but I always give in and go back. I have mixed feelings about the services I've gotten there. Sometimes I leave very happy with exactly what I ask for and other times I feel like I spent a lot of money and didn't get very much for it. I have had nail technicians who seem to take their time and really listen, and I have had too many that rush through. The last time I went, which was a week ago, the guy who did my nails worked really fast and I felt like he didn't really care about the job he did. It was obvious when about two hours after my visit, two of my acrylic nails were bubbling up. Those two nails now have an extra clearcoat over them that I had to apply to try and salvage the nails. One of my thumbs already has a huge chip out of it. My nails usually look good for at least two weeks before I start to notice some typical wear and tear. Didn't last two hours this time. And yes, I am aware that had I gone back in and asked them to fix them, they would have done that. But not everyone has time to go back and fix something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. I work full-time and have a lot on my plate. Getting my nails done for over $50 is a treat and I would expect that they would do a better job. Most times I'm in there, I don't think it looks very clean. The workstations look like they never get picked up and sometimes employees leave drinks sitting around that look like they've been there for days. And while I appreciate that I rarely have to wait long, especially when I can make an appointment online, I'm going to go elsewhere. I can save money by going to a place closer to my home and a place that actually seems to take their time do a better job. read more
