Disappointed...I would like to say this is just MY experience. Service was great, the nails were beautiful BUT they started to chip around the cuticles on day one. 3 chipped bad and one nail popped off like a press on and that was all by day two. I got them fixed a day after. And not even a week after them fixing them, another one of my nails popped off like a press on and the other one completely chipped at the top and I have half a tip. I have never paid $80 on nails for them to pop off like this. They're supposed to be fillable. I could have just got a $10 pair of press ons. read more

This is a big nail shop. Next to the Walmart and CHKD thrift store in Hilltop. I called ahead before my pedicure as I was a couple minutes away, wanting to make sure they had availability. They answered the phone promptly and told me to come right over. After a short wait I was greeted and taken back to a spa chair. The nail tech returned to the station with clean tools, and gel colors. I decided on the Regular Pedi ($35+ $20 for gel). I was happy to see they offer gel from OPI, as I love their nude collection. The nail tech was friendly, thorough and did an excellent job. I enjoyed the massage on my feet but I found the massage chair rather uncomfortable, with an unbearable strong pressure. This can be a hit or miss. Been here a handful of times. There spa options are great. Wax, stone massage are awesome!! Yes please. If only they asked the pressure it would be even more AMAZING!! I can visit the location and get exactly other times I have to repeat myself and saying it in different ways so the tech understands me. Because of my athletic activities and dancing I need a little more TLC in cleaning. There are times I'll tell them what I need and they do a good job. I came and originally asked for lengthy almond nails. I went through two different nail techs before being sat with the third. I had given up on asking for almond at this point and just said they could do a coffin shaped nail. The nails I ended up with are not coffin. They are chunky and wide squares, uneven and thick across the top. It was obvious the final nail tech I was sat with was rushing through. I have gel all around my nails and he did not even rub the lotion in. Let me start of this review with a message to all the previous reviewers that rated this place anything higher than 2 stars: WHAT THE HELL?! I FEEL SO DECEIVED! Moving on.... I came in on June 13 at around 3pm. No appointment. Lucky for me, there was only two other customers. My daughter and I needed our Post COVID-19 pedicures(our feet were looking rough! We did some pedicures to each other so the color was worth atleast 3 stars but our feet needed some sanding or Jesus! LOL). Upon entering we were instructed to wash our hands and pick our colors. We did this and were seated on the spa chairs very quickly. Unfortunately, this was the beginning to a very dreadful time. My technician must have gotten the roughness of my feet all wrong. She buffed my nails so roughly and much that the buffer flew out of her hands and landed on the next chair over. I have a high tolerance for pain but at this point this was ridiculous. I asked her to focus on the bottom of my feet and her response was to just wet it and apply oil. We all know that this is a temporary fix that I had no need to pay for. Anyways, I was so over it that I allowed her to continue and move on to paint. Oh boy! I was in for a shocker! She painted my nails and called it "done" after they looked like a 5 year old had done this job. I was in shock and she didn't even realize my disapproval because I had a face mask on. So I removed it and showed her why it was so wrong. Her solution: ask another technician to fix it. Result: an excessive amount of coats on an already shitty paint job. I sat on the drying station for 20 minutes waiting for them bad boys to dry. No luck! After complaining, My initial technician apologized and blamed it on the second technician and removed the polish and started again. End result: Rough feet and a paint job that looked like I had done it. Why did I pay for this? Because I believed in all the reviews. Maybe I got these people on a bad day but for someone who desperately looked forward to a pedicure and paid $57 I was expecting more. Next time, I'll just buy the tools myself and do my own pedicure! Totally surprised this place has so many good reviews based on my terrible experience. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted - gel color. It was my first time getting my nails done professionally so I was excited but nervous. Apparently nervous for a good reason. The guy grinds down all parts of my nails like crazy and considering I'm just getting color I wasn't sure why.. my nails are very healthy. They didn't need all the sanding down on the parts that would be covered by color. He pulls out the box of acrylic nails and I tell him that I just wanted color. An exchanging of this several times and even though I said the exact same thing as everyone else, he asked the employee that was working on my friend, then asked my friend, they all told him gel color too. For some reason my confirmation wasn't enough? I'm 21 and know dang well how to speak on my own behalf. One of my nails is all glittery black that needs more coats, it's completely see through (though it's hard to tell in the pics). I understand why it's see through but the example was opaque so I know it's possible if they had actually took the time to do what was necessary. Then I was confused because he moved me to another seat without explanation after getting the color base. Then I was moved again, and this new lady starts working on my nails. She asks what finger I want a design on. So I asked if I could do all but the 2 ring fingers (mind you, I had a design already planned out). She said "NO! I don't have time for that. If I didn't have another client I would but I don't have time. Sorry." But it didn't seem apologetic at all and the person she was helping came in long after me. I was confused. Isn't their job to design the nails the way I want? It wasn't a difficult design, I probably could do it from home but wanted it to look cleaner by getting it professionally done. She informed me it wouldn't look exactly like the pics and that was okay, but looking at the finished nail she didn't even add enough layers to the design so it looks poorly done. She asked if I wanted other designs of her own choice since she wouldn't do the one I wanted, I told her sure. One side looks like it got smeared and she never even did a touch up. She just finalized it with a clear coat. I tried my hardest not to cry out of frustration because some of the employees seemed really nice and helpful to their clients but the people I got stuck with were not. Also, when I was still waiting in the lobby there was someone sitting in the lobby who had been on the waiting list then another lady came in with an appointment. She kept expressing she didn't know the appointment time, that it was either 11 or 11:30. Nobody ever confirmed. So when the next available employee came to the lobby and asked who was next, the lady who was on the waiting list stood up. That's when the lady with the appointment said "actually I have an appointment." The worker nodded her head, rolled her eyes, didn't even look up her appointment, then turned around and started to help the lady without the appointment. It was really rude and I felt bad. And then she was told "we aren't doing appointments." Then why did she already have one scheduled?? (The nails I wanted were a flannel-like patter red and black on all but the ring fingers then the ring fingers would be glittery black. This was the shittiest nail experience of my life. First my girlfriend is getting her nails done and in the middle of it the woman gets up and starts working on a pedicure??? After she sits there for probably 10-15 minutes she gets up and has to move to a whole other woman who didn't even ask her what shape she wanted. The whole time I am getting dip on my nails and I didn't even receive a manicure. She saws my cuticles off and puts 17 layers on my nails and makes it look like a fucking bubble. I had to go back and ask for it to be thinned out - now I'm wasting another 20 minutes of my life. My nails are so sore from having the drill on it for so long. I'm not sure what cost $50. However I have not had a good time getting my nails done I got a full set of acrylic nails and they were longer originally than I wanted but I let it be when I came back for a fill they cut them way too short none of the lengths matched each other and the overall product was thick bubbly and not good. I talked to the owner or manager whatever she is and she was supposed to do my fix however when I showed up to have my nails fixed it was by the same person that had messed them up and when I asked for my set to be removed and to have regular gel put on he remove the set of nails and said we were done but I had originally said I just wanted regular gel put on after but I didn't push the subject because it's never just what you ask for. this this place has a huge communication issue and I'm honestly just tired of it because nothing I ever asked for is done correctly. read more

However I took off some stars because I was baffled that my manicure came out to $50. A full set just for the hands at $50? Sorry, but down in Texas you can get a full acrylic set + gel polish for $30 not including tip, and be on your merry way. The woman who greeted me when I walked in had stated that their gel + acrylic full sets started at $40. I figured that would be the cost of my manicure since I wasn't asking for a special design or anything extra. But halfway of doing my nails chi chi informed me that they would be $50 and of course I was curious as to why and she said that the tip length and the filing down to a coffin shape were $5 EACH added onto the service. I'm no nail wiz, but isn't filing included as standard part of service when getting a manicure? And when did tip length become an extra charge as well? (Note this isn't listed on their brochure either unless I'm blind). I could understand if I had gotten some showgirls-type super long tips but as you can see in the pic they're a pretty average tip length. So I was immediately turned off by that. I asked how much refills are and she said $30. Again, higher than what I'm used to back home but I digress. I'll come back for a refill but not a brand new set. Too pricey to justify for such a basic manicure. It's a nice place and comfortable but I can't with those prices. I'll continue to come for refills until I find a more reasonably priced salon nearby. And a gel pedicure is $45! Girl, lol that is heart attack inducing! Edit to the rude response: yeah sure this is Virginia but why are you charging for simple services that should be included with the manicure? And if I wanted to I could've zoomed in on where my nails were sloppily done with DRIPS on the sides, but I'm not a bitter person and overall they look fine from afar but when you get close you can definitely see where she messed up. Not worth what I was charged. Just for that response I'll go ahead and drop the rating to a shitty one star just like your attitude. Good luck keeping customers. Edit 3/30/18: for those who are confused, an employee left an ugly response to my honest 3 star review on here which included poking at the fact that I'm not from this area. I stumbled into this salon when it first opened and I have never been disappointed with their service or prices. It is an absolutely GORGEOUS salon and the staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. The customers who gave poor reviews clearly haven't been serviced at this high end of a salon or in an area like Virginia Beach. Their prices are competitive with those of other salons in the area, yet their work and ambience far outweigh other salons.
