I've been going to VJ nails for 3 years now and I've been very happy. I love my gel manicures and the pedicures are such a luxury! I'm always treated so nice and I look forward to my biweekly appts. Nancy is my nail tech and she does a fabulous job. She really hears me and gives valuable advice when needed, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the other techs there. Go and indulge! The last two visits in less than a week weren't the greatest, but was still nice. I normally do a walk in at VJs. I requested a certain color and to my surprise wasn't the color I had originally requested. I still enjoyed the experience both times and service was pretty good anyways. Just for future reference make sure before you leave that you walk out the door with the color you requested. If it was a day or two it would have been fine to change the color, but I waited too long. I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt. My first visit of the two visits was with a friend, so the vibe was a fantastic time. The second visit was still good, but I definitely enjoy getting my nails down with friends. read more

Probably the biggest SCAM I've ever encountered. I have been getting my nails done for 15+ years and I have never spent triple digits. I walked in to get a medium length full set. I had to consistently tell her to fix things and still was not completely satisfied even after 2 hours of work. Mind you the times she cut my fingers and led to me bleeding and saying ow during the appt. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect for this to be more than $80 based on their website prices. But when I went to pay the lady told me it would be $135. I have NEVER been charged such an outrageous amount for sloppy work. I will never be back and will make sure anyone I know stays far away from this SCAM. I wish I could rate a zero as this completely killed my vibe. read more

Made my appointment last minute for 2 PM was greeted probably seated and serviced absolutely well the one who did my nails name is Sarah she paid attention to the design I showed her ask questions made sure I was very happy with the service. I went to a shot before this that charge me $75 for a bulky full set that didn't look like anything. I want it in the shop was able to fix what they did and charge me less. I had the best manicurist today for my first time at VJ Nails, Nancy. She was super sweet and perfectly gentle. This was the first manicure that I have ever had where I didn't leave with some sort of nick or file burn. I was a walk-in and seen right away. I had a dip manicure removed and a new gel manicure to replace it. I couldn't decide on a shape and asked Nancy to do what ever she thought was best. I have the cutest mani I have ever had!!! Im not from the area but was in search of a nail salon close by to My house. Stumbled upon VJ Nails and hoped for the best. I called two days ahead to reserve a spot. As soon as I showed up for my appointment , i was welcomed very kindly and sat down right away to work on my nails. I think the woman's name who did my nails was Jade? I could be wrong but also i was tired and slightly delusional when i went lol BUT my nails came out SO pretty! Ive never done this shape before so I was pleased. She even gave me options on what color base powder and color base coat which made me happy because i don't really like the pinky orange look under french nails at some places. My feet came out just as pretty as well. I have a shorter nail on one of my big toes due to a procedure i had done and they did such a good job putting acrylic overlay on it so i could feel confident in my heels again. The only thing that caught me a little off guard was the pricing. It was a little more than I wanted to pay but honestly for the experience I got and how good the work is, it was worth it. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I called and made an appt on Tuesday to have Kylie work on my nails. The person who answered the phone rushed me through the conversation but made it seem as though they understood what I needed. The appt was confirmed for Thursday at 10am. I arrived on Thursday at 10am and was told that Kylie was not in and had been on vacation since last week. Also, there was nothing written in their schedule book about my appt. The time is now 10:49am and I still have not been seen for my nails. My issue is that had I been late or a no show to my appt I would have faced a penalty. The manager did NOTHING to compensate for the miscommunication or the wait. Then to add to my experience I paid $20-30 more than my normal service when I get the same service each time. I was told it was because my natural nails were long which I asked to be cut down to the shortest length while maintaining my almond shape. I didn't leave the salon until 12:45pm. I am highly disappointed in the service I received and will now be finding another salon to attend regularly. read more

I was so excited to see this new business arriving in Ghent! The space was just remodeled so everything is brand new. I loved all of the orchid plants and the fact that there was relaxing music playing (as opposed to obnoxious TV shows like some nail salons do). The interior is clean and relaxing. My favorite part was that the color selection was in a book! I've always had to stare at a wall of colors or flip through flimsy plastic examples. It was so cool to just see the colors side by side - I've been getting my nails done consistently for several years and have never seen this. Pricing was low/average for the area and they are offering a grand opening 20% off special through July 1st. Jamie did a great job on my pedicure and an AMAZING job on my fill in and design! Went here today for the first time and they were very nice. The owner was very sweet introduced herself asked me if it was my first time and made a point to explain the services offered. Price point is average 50 full set 45 fill and 35 basic pedi which for this area is good as I have struggled finding a salon with consistent pricing. The last 2 I went to the prices changed every time I went which was frustrating. The owner explained the services offered and the techs in store reassuring customer satisfaction as a priority. I will def be back as this is the first salon tech I've encounter I didn't have to ask to fix one thing! Not one crooked nail or uneven length! They have a large variety of colors dip and gel! Staff was not friendly and the woman who did my acrylic removal was very rough with my pedicure and nails.

I had the worst pedicure I've ever had Friday at VJs. I made a 6:10 appointment and when I arrived the place was packed. They said 10 minutes and I knew that wasn't going to be accurate. At 6:35 I asked again & they finally jumped on getting me in chair (6:38). I have to keep my toes VERY short & asked for them to cut my nails. Another woman had to come over & interpret and they said she couldn't cut them, so she would file them (my regular salon has been trimming my toe nails for 20 years). She did cut my big toe nails a little, but never filed the others. I asked for the signature pedicure, but didn't get the Dead Sea soak, she only cut the cuticles on my big & little toes, she did not do any callous removal. I had to ask someone to come over and ask for the dry skin on my little toe be removed & for my feet to be scraped. She did cut the dead skin off my little toe, but did not scrape the bottom of my feet. The exfoliation lasted less than a minute. Lastly she only put one coat of polish on my toes. My service was 25 minutes late getting started. (I specifically went to VJs because I could make an appointment), pedicure wasn't even mediocre and the customer service was seriously lacking. I asked for a refund and was told no, but I could come back in to get pedicure redone. I am going to have my pedicure fixed, but that will be the LAST time I go to VJs. I have been 2 other times and the first time my pedicure was just OK, the second time was mediocre and the final time was terrible. I am not a complainer. This is only the second negative review I have ever posted. I am easy to please, but this was not a good experience. read more
