This is the BEST place we've had pedicures at in Hampton Roads!!! Greeted immediately upon walking in with a very happy vibe. The place is clean and very well kept. Wifey did the regular pedi w/ a French manicure = perfect! I did the spa pedi ($45) and it was the best. Best I've had in the area. 5 stars for just the calf massage! Pleasantly surprised about how nice this salon is. It's clean and looks like they keep it more sanitary than local nail salons I have visited lately. The employees and owner were present and were very nice. They even offered 2 free nail designs for kids, just know it's two only, not two per hand. I assumed it was 2 per hand so when they told me that it was an up charge for the extra two I'm positive I must have made a face because they didn't charge me in the end. The young man who did my mani/pedi did a good job but the owner had to step in when it came to the tiny designs. He did try though. Only negatives about his manicure job is that I had to keep pointing out that he filed a few nails unevenly but fixed them when I asked. No complaints in English but he was speaking to the other young man the whole time while doing my nails in a different language. So who knows. Then their white gel nail polish was old, he was literally digging in to it to get some on his brush and there were black specs inside which made him have to wipe and redo the nails again a few times until he grabbed another almost empty white bottle. Which worked. I believe this caused bubbles in the gel because I had to point out to him that there were bubbles in my cured gel, he just said he'd fix it by cutting them out. Which he did with a cuticle cutter but then it left an indent in my nail polish. The nails and pedi came out pretty, eventually, for the price I just wish the design wasn't rushed. Overall I'm not displeased but not against trying another facility before coming back. *update: My mani nails only lasted a week before starting to peel off, which makes me so sad because I did like the design for the most part. Cute shop, you get a different experience every time you go in so that's why I'm taking off one star since it's different based upon the day I guess. Sometimes I'm offered a drink when I come in sometimes I'm not sometimes when I get a fill, they put lotion on my hand and do a little massage and sometimes they do not. I will say I really like how Jasmine shapes my nails and if you want a cute design, she's your girl the place itself is a little pricey when you start doing nail design so make sure you ask before they do it so you're not surprised by a crazy bill at the end. read more

I took my daughter here for a mani pedi. Everyone was absolutely wonderful and pleasant. We were walk-ins and they immediately helped us. They treated us both (even though I was only there to make Dad jokes) with so much kindness and respect. The atmosphere was fun and all staff and customers seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. A.J. - horrible. Will not be going back for nail service but will go back to the person who did my pedi. A.J. was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Did not respond to me when I stated he hurt me twice with the drill file. I said "Ow, that hurt" TWICE and the man didnt acknowledge me at all. At the end he surprise charged me for a service that I didnt receive. I pointed it out and he was flustered, said "ok fine, if you dont wanna pay that, thats fine. Dont pay it." and he left to get the owner. She was professional and nice, kept apologizing. He should be working somewhere he does not have to deal with people at all. read more

David did my nails. It was my last day of vacation before heading home, and I owed my SIL a little bit of relaxing time out. It was packed in here, and people still kept coming while we were in there. Took less than 45 minutes total. I got a gel manicure. She got a gel pedicure with a foot massage. Overall, this place was decent. Not expensive, but you get what you pay for. I won't be back. The parts by my cuticles weren't done very nicely, so when my nails grew out, it looked all sorts of crazy. After a week, my hair was pulling on my nails because of the gel. read more

It was nice to be able to make an appointment for us and our granddaughters all together on a Sunday. That said, they tried to charge us the adult price for the kids mani/pedi. And although I've been assured that it's normal, they added eye drops to the nail polish, which I find a little disconcerting. And my nails look like there's bubbles or grit in the polish. I recently moved from Virginia Beach to Moyock so I have been desperately trying to find somewhere and someone that compared to my previous nail tech Megan in Strawbridge, and warning I'm about to be cringey. Julie at MK Nails First, NAILED IT . Ok, I warned you! She took her time but also didn't take a painfully long time. I usually don't have special requests just pick my color and carry on but I showed her a photo and she looked very quickly and said "OK, pick the colors and I'll do that". I was a bit hesitant because I didn't feel like she looked long enough and it was a french tip but curved so I felt like I was gonna end up with a nail shape and tip shape I didn't want. I left the salon feeling like my nails looked JUST like the reference photo! She recommended to do acrylic in order to get the length/shape I wanted, so I did. My nails have been breaking off so some were long enough others weren't. I mentioned to her that I usually do gel polish and haven't done acrylic in a very long time and she made sure to make it look natural. The prices here are a little higher than I was paying in VAB, but the service is so much better at Nails First! Been coming here since 2014, love Kayla,Tim & the majority of the staff. however, today's visit was horrid! An older man did my nails, he ripped my broken nail off my thumb and when I pulled back & told him he was hurting me,he ignored me. He was rough with the filing and more. When I discovered I didn't like yh3 color I had on and asked him to change it, he got angry and then halfway did my nails. I've never experienced such bad service here, but you could tell Kayla wasn't there. I left from there with a painful, throbbing thumb, a bad paint job on 1 hand, and a sour taste in my mouth. I am a frequent customer there (every other week) & I've spent tons of $$$ here..it really sucks that 1 person can somewhat ruin a place I love to go.
