My massage at the spa today was fantastic! I did a couples massage with my sister and they insured we got the full-time there. We did an aroma massage and we each got to pick which we preferred and they had many choices available. They were patient and gave us time to smell the different options, I ended up going with eucalyptus. They took their time and really focused on the areas that I asked to have focus on. The only thing I would change is the masseuse did use her arms and elbows, which was a little uncomfortable, but I didn't say anything. Next time, I'll definitely ask that the masseuse just use their hands. The place is clean and very inviting. The waiting room has hot tea available and they sell products that they use so if you really like something it's usually available for purchase to. Definitely will be back. read more

I can't say much about the pricing or the calling to make reservations part because my sister brought me here for a couples massage as my birthday gift but I will say that I had an amazing experience. My sister comes to this spa often, usually for other treatments but today she surprised me with a sister's spa outing. She spoiled me with their aroma therapy massage for 2. Everything they did for us was done to make sure we were as relaxed as possible. Every area of the establishment that I visited was clean and well maintained. The staff were warm, attentive, and truly made me feel welcome. I loved our aroma therapy massage, instant reset. I left smelling like a gentle breeze and felt like melted butter. I'm very impressed with the staff and services at Natural Elements. First, you are warmly greeted by receptionist Dani or Jess when you arrive. Both of these professionals made sure I was happy with my choice of services there. They knew by heart all of the styles of massages and add ons. I had an extremely relaxing hot stone massage by Sara. I will definitely book her again. I then had a mani/pedi with Eliza. She used the Dazzle Dry product, which was healthy on my nails. She made my nails look beautiful! What really makes this salon top notch is how I was treated when I messed up and had to cancel my appointment. I had scheduled a massage and then a facial. I didn't realize I couldn't get a facial because I recently had my brows tattooed. Kara, who was to do my facial, came and spoke with me. She explained why I needed to wait a few weeks more. She cared more about me than loosing a booking. She was so polite and kind, never making me feel bad about my mistake. I can't wait to set up a new date with her. I love this spa! I have been going there on and off for years. It is such a relaxing experience, from check in to check out. All of the massage therapists are amazing, but my current one, Mrs. Taylor, is the best so far! I have had a membership almost 4yrs and never had a bad experience with any of my services, massages, tint, brows or the capsule. My only concern now is learning that membership clients will only be able to get membership discounts for other services on specified days only. I've got some beef with Natural Elements recently and I will explain why. Let me preface this review by saying that I've been going to Natural Elements for many years (minus the 4 that I lived in Georgia). I used to go just for swedish and hot stone massages a handful of times a year and never had any issues. Fast forward to 2018. I started getting prenatal massages 3 months ago. My first visit on 10/6/18 was with Mamie. She did an incredible job. I love the table set up that allows me to get comfortable with my growing bump. Special training is required for prenatal massage as there are additional precautions to take and Mamie was very clear about what I would expect prior to my treatment. From start to finish, I was relaxed and comfortable. I made a 2nd appointment on 11/3/18 with Mamie. The receptionist/scheduler even asked Mamie at the desk about her availability because she said she was only there on 1 Saturday each month. We collectively agreed on 11/3. When I returned on 11/3, my treatment had been rescheduled with Becca. I assumed that perhaps Mamie had a conflict so I decided to proceed because I had such a great first prenatal experience. This treatment was a huge let-down. I felt, like a previous review said, that I paid an arm and a leg for a 60-minute (actually 50-minute) lotioning appointment, even after I specified my pressure preference (same as with Mamie) and what area of the body I needed additional focus on. She did focus on my back, but never once touched either of my arms or hands. When I left, she was also keen on trying to up-sell me special pillows and aromatherapy items. I hate this tactic with a passion. I left feeling disappointed and didn't make another appointment right away. I eventually decided to book again online, hoping I could get in with Mamie. I booked the only other therapist listed online that was available for prenatal massage in addition to Becca - Laura Anne. I showed up for my appointment this past Sat 12/1/18 and checked in. I sat in the "zen room" until 5 minutes past my appointment time and then decided to check online to make sure I had the time right - my text message and online reservation confirmed 10:00 am... but I had been AGAIN moved to Becca's schedule. How this happened twice, I don't know, but it certainly upset me. They either needed to cop to changing my therapist without telling me or adjust their booking system because something is wrong. The reservationist was very understanding and accommodating when I explained that I specifically booked with someone else due to my disappointing previous visit. I was eventually seen by Laura Anne, who was fantastic, but I was still shortchanged on the appointment length by about 10 minutes. I have made another appointment with Laura Anne, who I would highly recommend for prenatal massage in addition to Mamie - if she even still does treatments there. I can't seem to find her availability through the book online app. I have not yet decided if I will keep this appointment or take my business elsewhere. I consider myself to be an understanding individual since I have worked in customer service myself for years, but I am almost expecting my appointment to be screwed with when I return in 4 weeks. I'm not sure I'm ready to give the option for a 3rd strike. We shall see... read more

I'm no pedicure expert by any means but this is a vey nice treatment. The one thing that stood out was how clean every thing was. The tools appeared to have been sterilized and the foot basins were immaculate. The staff seems very knowledgeable and took extra time with my rough areas. They offer wine, water, and 3 types of beer as part of the treatment. All in all I think this was a great value. I was made to feel relaxed and my feet look and feel amazing. The receptionist was warm and friendly and offered to put my on a waitlist. I didn't expect a call back but got one one Friday. This was my first time at Natural Elements Spa and it was such a great impression. I was greeted as soon as I came in and escorted to a nice relaxing area to fill out my paper work. Kim was so professional and friendly. Not to mention she did a phenomenal job. The dazzling dry nail polish is some sort of magic, I am so impressed. It looks so pretty. Additionally, I am pregnant so not only do smells bother me, it isn't great for me to inhale. I smelled nothing. I will never go to a pop in nail spot again. This will be my new place. It's time for an update I suppose since my first review was only for hair and in the last year I've had nails, massages, hair, etc. done at Natural Elements. I joined as a member and pay $59 a month for either a hair treatment or massage. I'm here so often that it's not a problem using my monthly membership item because I'm always getting nails and massages (monthly) and I have my hair done every 2-3 months. I know most of the gals up front by now and they're very friendly and helpful. Seems like I always have some sort of conflict with my schedule and they're always very willing to move something around and help me make things work. They have a referral program so you can get some points on your account if you recommend someone who keeps coming back to them. I've sent about 3 people and probably gotten something like $70 or so total in the last year. Which is nice. Katie K, as I mentioned in my last review, has been doing my hair for over 7 years and I've followed her all around Hampton Roads. She's great. Very friendly and personable with a ton of talent and an eye for detail. She knows my likes and dislikes well enough now that I trust her to help me make good choices and I listen to her opinion about my hair far more than any other stylist. She has a lot of experience and is good at what she does. We've added color to my hair, cut it short, grown it out, etc. We'll be doing Wedding updo trials next month for my upcoming wedding and I can't wait! Crystal F always does my nails. She's fantastic. Not only do I get along with her well (which is nice since we spend about 3+ hours together every few weeks) but she's amazing at freehand art on your nails. I usually only do French tips and she's fantastic at drawing the lines - but she's also done some paw prints for JMU's homecoming, some Christmas trees at Xmas time, and a few other fun things. We also experimented with glitter for wedding nails but I think I'll stick to French tips.... still, it was fun to experiment with her. I've had a bit more trouble nailing someone down for massage. I'd had about 3-4 different folks from here give me a massage and none of them have been anything special. I tend to have a lot of stress in my back and they just can't seem to really get in there and work it out the way I want. I'm less concerned with the whole body massage and simply want more attention paid to my back. I always feel cheated because in an hour massage they'll spend 40 minutes on my legs and arms and only 10 on my back. My back is what hurts! Still, it's good for the circulation and better than nothing, I still hope I'll find "the one" some day. Their trail mix and hot tea in the zen waiting area are nice. The bathroom/locker room area is very nice and they keep a sugar scrub inside for you to use and make your hands nice and soft. The location is great by the Taste in Chesapeake with tons of other little foodie places to stop in. There are plenty of options in the same shopping center or you can easily go just up the street to Greenbrier and surrounding malls and find some food or fun. I'm a fan, I'm glad I found a nice place to consistently get my nails and hair done with people I like and trust. read more

Received a gift card for Mother's Day and excited to finally be using it. My first service appointment was for a manicure/pedicure. The chairs are very comfy, oversized and offer a massage feature as well. The chairs do both manicures and pedicure (the pedi bowl is electric and slides under). I thought that was neat since I have never seen one like that anywhere else before. I was skeptical about trying the "Dazzle Dry" products that they use but was pleasantly surprised, it lasted longer than my gel usually does but felt way more natural on the nail. It was a bit pricey but I feel like I paid for the experience. It was much more relaxing as they only do 2 nail services max at a time, and everything is very clean and sanitary. Much better than being in a room with 6 others and feeling rushed. And the best part, they don't use drills, everything is done by hand so you don't have to worry about breathing in all that dust from regular nail salons. I had Eliza would love to book with her again. My one down side is just that it can be hard to book last minute but if you can be flexible or schedule out your services, it's worth it. read more

SO IN LOVE! Yesterday I had my first EVER Brazilian wax...which was scheduled with Brittney. Naturally, I was a little nervous. Once meeting Brittney, I was instantly at ease. I honestly felt like I was hanging out with a good friend, just laughing and having a great time for an hour. I have been going to natural elements for several years and have always had a great experience, so my sons purchased gift cards for both me and my husband. We tried multiple times to book together, and they could never accommodate us. I called with a concern that our gift cards were going to expire and they assured me that they were honored for 1 year/ 3 months. We finally got an appointment booked to do couples massage and yes, we had confirmed our appointments, but on the day of the massage, my husband came home very sick and was confirmed positive for covid. I called the salon, and the person answering the phone was very rude and told me I would be charged the cancellation fee, and before I could even respond the phone was disconnected. As I was trying to call the salon back, they left a message saying that they were still going to honor my gift cards, but because I hung up the phone, now they would no longer honor the gift cards at all??? I didnt hang up ??? I said I was going to follow up with a manager, but it left such a distaste and at this point felt like we would never get good service and opted to not reschedule. I came to VA Beach for vacation and just got home today. I chose this spa because it was the second highest rated(the other was booked until the end of APRIL!). I came on vacation to de-stress from family problems and I just finished school so this was PERFECT! I did the full Elemental Joy package (pedicure, facial, hot stone massage, spa capsule, and lunch for $360 which includes gratuity) and I can honestly say it was worth every penny! I didn't realize the gratuity was included til I checked out but that was definitely a bonus. My stone massage and the spa capsule treatment were both done by Ebony. She is wonderful, so attentive and just wants to make sure you're having a great experience. I have chronic lower back pain from past car accidents and Ebony made sure to pay it special attention and she was great. She also noticed the "congestion" in my shoulders and back and focused on those places as well. I then was switched off to Sarah(I guess she is new because she isn't on their website) and she did my facial(first EVER!) and my pedicure. She was so sweet and the facial was just plain awesome. I really had no idea about them and was worried because I have really acne prone skin but I looked sooooo much better AFTER-wards. They were just amazing. They have an amazing place with great ambiance. From the outside it just looks like a regular place that does nails and stuff but it's huge inside and very relaxing.They really focus on you and your needs. They make sure you are comfortable, nothing hurt, and I left feeling awesome. I just wish I had added and extra few hours on the hot stone massage. I had a very nice massage and experience overall, however my 60 minute massage was actually only 42 minutes of massage. The other time was consumed with getting changed for the table and meeting the therapist. I have had massages elsewhere and the massage time is what is stated, undressing is extra time. I arrived early to fill out paperwork, so being late did not cause me this. In fact, after she took the time to show me the capsule and suggest some products for home use. My therapist was knowledgeable, pleasant and overall did a nice job. The spa itself is beautiful inside and I love the sugar scrub that I purchased to take home. I'd go back, but will ask for clarification on the timing. I changed quickly and was lying alone waiting for a few minutes- just a curious timeline and it appears others have had shorter massages as well. read more

I've primarily gone to Natural Elements for hair services and I've been impressed every time! I go to Abigail and she makes the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. I like to color my hair from time to time to help give it some texture (I have super fine and sleek hair) but I am terrible at upkeep and don't like to have frequent appointments. Abigail is very knowledgeable and so is able to create a package that gives me color and texture that I love but also allows my hair to grow out in a natural and less noticeable way so I don't have the rigorous upkeep. She's very talented, knowledgeable, and really listens to what I want (even when I'm not exactly sure what that is!). And the end result is always fresh and beautiful! I had a hot stone massage this weekend at Natural Elements with Miles I believe. The spa is very tranquil when you first walk in and so is the waiting area. I really enjoy a spa that has waiting areas with dim lighting, it makes you relax before your treatment. Overall the massage went great and if I wasn't moving I would definitely come back. I usually get hot stone massages when I'm in need of a massage and this one was great. Hot stone massages just add an extra touch of relaxation over a regular massage. The masseuse I had was also very professional and applied the right amount of pressure I requested. We live so close to this location and it's a shame I just found out about it. It's located in a great shopping center with many wonderful shops. I'd definitely recommend Natural Elements to anyone in the greenbrier location or around the Hampton roads area. read more

I've been going to this salon & spa for over a year now and have had appointments in both areas. I loved it when I first started going but over the last 3 months, I've been really disappointed. The salon staff seem to overlap clients a lot (especially on Saturdays) and one time in particular, I ended up waiting almost an hour after my appointment was supposed to start. Add to the fact that a typical hair appt with cut and color can take 2+ hours and I was there for over 3 hours. No response regarding the wait except to say they were busy. Another area of concern is due to the massages I've received. The past three times, my massage has been cut short by 10-15 minutes and the therapists aren't very professional. One therapist talked to me the entire massage, which sort of defeats the purpose of a relaxing hour to enjoy being pampered. It also seems like all employees in the salon and spa has been trained to push products on customers every time they come in for a service. It's fine to offer products that are used in the service, but being offered a $30 massage lotion every time I'm in for a massage doesn't make any sense. Perhaps if the owner would reduce the inventory, there wouldn't be a huge need to push them on customers. I plan to seek out a new spa/salon in the area to take my business to in the hopes that I can get better service and value for my money! read more

Since 2017 my husband has given me gift cards to Natural Elements Spa & Salon. The total of my cards when I went in this week was $375.00. I was able to use my birthday & holiday gift cards until my granddaughter was born in 2016, grandson in 2018 and then Covid hit. Previously I was a happy customer and had been going here for years, so my husband always purchased there for my gifts. My granddaughter was born in 2016 and she had a rare immunocompromised illness my grandson 2018 with the same disease. Since I was then a caregiver for them, I was limited on my outside social life. I kept my gift cards, called to explain my situation and called back when Covid hit and they said "not to worry, they would be honored". This week I have a break from my grandchild (my granddaughter has since passed away) and decided to go in to see how much value was on my gifts....and book a much needed massage. (I have a one week break from caregiving and could quickly try to fit this in!) Much to my disappointment, the front desk girl added them up and said total value due to expirations is $135.00, but due to my circumstances, "let me see if management will work with this as they typically expire in 1 year". Hmmmm....I was told that they would honor due to Covid when I called in 2 years ago. Manager came down and said she would give me back 1 of my cards which will be valued at $75.00 and I can use it until 12-31-2022. When I got frustrated with this she told me to "Please calm down stress is not good for you". Hey, let me give you $375.00 and take $300.00 back and see how happy you are. AND, don't tell me about STRESS! Needless to say, the $75.00 is worth nothing to me as I will never go back to Natural Elements Spa & Salon due to the way this manager handled things. I understand that Covid put a cabash on their industry for the few months THEY were closed....but having two terminally ill grandchildren has put a cabash on my opportunity to have a massage. I told her I will give the card to someone then...and she said I wouldn't be able to and to call her when I am ready to book an appointment. 1. I won't come back 2.It is a gift card! Massage did not target problem areas, upper back pains and sciatica in left leg, I specifically asked for deep tissue when making appointment, received moderate pressure during session and paid extra for deep tissue. I did get a pedicure and didn't think it was worth the price.The bottoms of my feet still feel like they havent been touched. I have a few places with ruff spots. The nail polish was suppose to be quick drying but when I came home the polish was messed up. I had to go back and have it redone a few days later. Terrible... about 2 months ago I went for a massage, color, highlights, and a cut. Well the massage was good EXCEPT the massage lady went out for a smoke while I got ready, and started me face up.. which meant when we started all I could smell was SMOKE...... how relaxing..... next the highlights --- during the time under the dryer, they had a movable hair dryer, which was shorter than the chair, so during the process I had to slide down and hunch over for 30 minutes.. so that my head would fit under the dryer AND I AM 5'4!!!!!! NOT TALL AT ALL!!!!! the cut ...... THE CUT STILL BEING TALKED ABOUT ----- the lady Abbey who cut my hair... cut it dry, without holding it, without picking it up....she cut 2 foot long hair like you could cut a bowl cut.... needless to say it was EXTREMELY uneven and blunt!!!!! It was so bad the manager (WHO WAS AMAZING) had to arrange to have someone else (WHO WAS ALSO GREAT) come and fix it..... needless to say my trim left me with hair about 4 inches shorter than it was suppose to be. I wouldn't expect this kind of service at a $10 cutery let alone some place that cost me $300 ---- I have been warning everyone I know STAY AWAY!!!!!! RUN!!!!! I got a haircut here recently and it was great! I wish I remembered my stylist's name, but she was friendly and really cut my hair just right. She was very meticulous and the scalp massage during the shampooing was heavenly. She was also very nice and offered moisturizer when my hand started itching like crazy and I thought I was breaking out in hives (turns out a pesky mosquito had made its way in and bit me all over my hand). Kim has such a bubbly personality and is so friendly, I'm starting to think I schedule appointments just to catch up with her. :-) The atmosphere is sooooo freaking relaxing. I've never had to wait more than 10 mins for my service and in that small window, I'm so at ease I almost always start to doze off. I'm very skeptical about what products I use because my skin is very sensitive, but I have yet to have a single solitary problem from any of the products used during a massage, waxing or facial!!! I am in love with the lavender oil they use and the citrus stuff they use for the facials!! I had a customized facial and it was amazing!!!
