I came to this place based on the positive reviews. However I am very disappointed with this nail salon. I arrived as a walk in and it was busy. I asked for wait time and she said 15 minutes, to which I thought "not bad, I can wait a bit." Those 15 turned into 45 minutes. Once it was finally my turn, my technician sat me down and made me very comfortable, which is awesome! The pedicure was going great until she YANKED OUT my cuticle!! Yes, she ripped them right out instead of cutting it like every other nail salon do. It was very painful, but I stuck with it. The pedi was finished and everything looked great. The next day I had both toes sore from the pulling. And the following day my nail polish started chipping!! Today marks 5 days since I received my pedicure and most of my nail polish has fallen. I haven't been to the beach or pool, which risks the polish to fall, so I don't understand how the polish is basically gone! Other regular (non-gel) pedicures I've had usually last for an average of 2 weeks. This one didn't even last 1! I'm a very busy woman and had very special occasions that I needed my toes for and unfortunately I'm going to have to re-worry about getting my toes done somewhere else. I've been to 5-6 other salons in the area and each time left with the pain and regret that I spent money on something I was perfectly capable of doing myself. And then I found Nails Obsession. The care and quality is unmatched. No matter who you get - it's gonna be good. Everyone is so friendly and fun to talk to, not to mention great what they do. I'm extremely picky when it comes to my nails and they always NAIL the exact color/shape/design I ask for (heh heh get it?). My main tip (with any nail salon) is be vocal about what you want. If you don't like something, TELL THEM right away and they'll be more than happy to accommodate. I've been 4 times and 4/4 visits I've left jumping up and down in excitement over my new claws. The only thing is if it's busy the wait can be a bit of a pain, especially if you get hangry like me, but that's only because of the care they put into the work. Also, try and bring cash if you can because they do charge an extra $2 if you pay with your card. Nonetheless, I won't be visiting any other salons in ox, nor will I be doing my own nails. I'm from out of town and was looking to pamper myself for the day. This place was the closest nail salon to the hotel my husband and I were staying at. I called 30 minutes prior to my arrival to see if they had any openings, to my luck they did! Right when I walked in I was greeted and sat down to begin on my nails. I got a regular pedicure and a dipped on the natural nail manicure. Both of the ladies that did my nails were super friendly and made my experience great! I felt relaxed. I was even more happy with work!! I never leave reviews but I had to with this place because I was so happy with the work. I was super satisfied with everything this nail salon offered more than any of the places I go to back home. I would say if I lived in the area I'd for sure make this place my go to nail spot. I came in with disgusting nails and only half a pinky nail because I was actually in a totally different nail salon getting my acrylics removed and they accidentally tore my whole nail in half but Nails Obsession totally came to the rescue!! This place was pretty cool. I called ahead to make an appointment and the person who answered let me know that I could come in 15 minutes. When I went in, there was one other customer. I was seen shortly thereafter. :) I got acrylics put on (white tips). Pretty good job. The woman who was doing my nails was pretty friendly. Not very talkative, but she answered when I had questions. I tend to get nervous when going to new places, so I ask questions and state what I need done multiple times to ensure I am understood. She was accommodating. My nails were very nice when done. She took time tailor the look to my nails, if that makes sense. Prices, in comparison to other places in the area, are pretty decent. I went in to get my nails done. I am usually not very picky about the way my nails turn out. But the person who did my nails did a horrible job. He didn't double check that the shaped looked the same on both hands left two crooked nails even after being told once that they were crooked. I just have to say I'm so glad I found this place! Had a terrible and traumatizing experience at another nail salon here in Oxnard at the collection called Polish nail bar where the lady who did my nails left most of all my nails crooked! Came to nails obsession in hopes it could be fixed and I was still hesitant because I didn't want to experience the same thing. All I could say is wow! Randy did such an amazing job!! I found this place on yelp on my way home from work. I was super excited because of all the great reviews, but I am disappointed with my experience. 1. Cut my toe nails funny. She cut down the sides and they were unevenly filed. 2. Asked for Callus removal but was surprised that she didn't wrap my feet in plastic wrap like other places did. She only used a pumice stone. No drill, no cheese grater looking thing. All by hand. I could have done this at home. 3. Music was awful. Elevator music, then house music, then Adele. 4. Tools were not wrapped in new plastic. I can't even think about sanitation right now. Yuck 5. Didn't clean all the way under my nail. 6. The person that did the actual pedicure didn't paint my nails. It was a two person job. The polish was done quickly and with mistakes. 6. When I told her to add $5 on to the bill for tip she argued with me and said no $6... Seriously? I will not be returning here. I went to get a manicure and the first thing I noticed was the girl doing my nails brought her toddler in. But whatever I have a baby too so I can understand the situation. But she was chasing her kid around while doing my nails. And calling her two year old son ugly to his face.. that's not cool. Then her baby grabbed my phone off the counter and threw it!! Luckily I have apple care and it didn't break....but how unprofessional! I can say if it did break I would not have paid for my nails and probably have asked her to pay my apple care.
