I love that when I go & have my kids in tow, they offer to put on a kid show, or dvd for my kids. They don't have to, but its awesome they offer. John by far is the best for the more natural looking nails (for a more thin & flat surface.) Not the best place for pedicures, but decent for a quick fix. My mom and I went in today for a pedicure, techs were visibly working with clients but nobody was waiting. As soon as we walked in, one of the techs told me there was no more time for pedicures. It was 11:30 a.m. and he did not ask for me to come back at a later time, or even look up to give me more information. He continued to work on the pedicure. This place is horrible. I do not recommend it to anyone based on my experience. When I went in, two girls we're giving one of the other employees a pedicure.. I went in with my sister. I needed a full set and my sister needed a pedicure. Within 5 minutes, the woman doing my nails cut my fingers twice while trimming my natural nails because she had her head turned watching tv. I should have just left at that point. The woman seemed rushed and did not go through the same sanding, filing and grooming techniques that most people do. At the end, after she put on my top coat, all of the nails started to bubble and I asked her if she could fix them. She seemed irritated with me like it was my fault lol. She sanded down the bubbles and said "ok there you go!"... I had to ask her to put another top coat on.. She used a very rough file and it left scuff marks on each nail... I thought she was joking by leaving them like that.. Lol. Meanwhile my sister was having a bad experience as well. The woman who helped her said that my sisters color choice was ugly and tried to convince her of 5 other colors. Horrible, right? I use to love going here but this is now the second incident where I was displeased with them. The first time was when I came in and I told them what I wanted and was expecting my usual lady to do it but instead they had a man do it and he insisted on doing gel nails instead of acrylic.. I mean ok? I wanted something but I was not in the mood to argue. I really was displeased with the service but the nails were fairly ok. I mean it's was $35 basic gel. But then again I stopped coming here. Now the second incident happened to happen to my mom who is a loyal customer to them even after when I told her how unpleased I was with the service. My mom went to get her lip waxed which she's been doing a lot and comes to this place often for it. So they burned her lip, leaving a scar. She was so displeased. She told me what happened and I told her to go back and tell them they should compensate for something they are liable for. I mean for goodness sake, they burnt her lip. They didn't check the temp of the wax, they just went about their business and that's it. She goes back, the woman who waxed her says "sorry here's ointment" WTF REALLY? My mom is too nice sometimes. So I told her to ask for the owner and talk to her. They look at the burn and say "we can only give you $20" really? I mean what if my mom was seriously burnt? Yes she will go to the ER to get it checked but this place does not cover the fees that they are liable for. They just tell her "you pay $5, and I'll give you $20. I'm sorry this happened to you" way to add insult to injury. So they're only offering $20 for something they did while my mom has to miss work (my mom's job relies on appearance) to go to the doctor... never again coming back for sure. ------------------------------------------ I requested for their insurance company to make an insurance claim, asked for the woman's licensure for esthetician/cosmetology to even wax. I have my friend look into it and no response what so ever from the owner. So please if you plan on getting waxed, do it somewhere else where they are licensed. Yes it will be pricier but your skin will thank you in the long run because for whoever it was to wax my mom without checking how hot the wax was is pure negligence and doesn't follow protocol for safety nor waxing read more

This is a great place to get your nails done! Very friendly and they do a great job. Went in today And got a pedi with my 4 year old daughter. Great new nail place only a couple bocks from my home in the lighthouse condos in oxnard. Since moving from ventura iv had a hard time finding a good plcae near me thats not either over priced for the quality, or has horrible quality. this place is very clean, it has great great massage chairs, the quality is great (iv been doing professional nails since i was 13 because i bite my nails without gells on, im 31 now so i think im a pretty good judge;). also i love their foot massages and the fact that they make my nails look natural and thin, and they are affordable / fairpriced. If your not happy with the places you have tried in the area please try this place, I do not normally take the time to write reviews but I want this woman's nail salon to stay open here for a long time! For an example of pricing... I got a full set of gell with art work (b\c it's the 4th of July and I wanted something festive), and a pedicure with Claus removal and an extra long hot stoner foot massage for around $65 (plus i gave a $16 tip). But I would normally have to pay like $75-$85 (plus a tip) for the same services and i think the same or better quality at the place on Victoria rd & whooly rd next to the Von's. I went to this nail salon for the first time with my grandma, who goes here regularly and it very pleased with them. I went in to get my current gel manicure taken off and a new manicure. First of all, a young girl who appeared to be no older than 14 (I may be wrong) began to work on taking my nails off. Because she appeared to be so young I was a little thrown off that she seemed to be working on my nails. As she began to take off my gel manicure she was doing a very poor job at taking off the gel completely and was being very rough with my nails. When she began to trim my nails she cut one on my nails all the way down to my skin and made me bleed and did not even react until I had to tell her to not proceed cutting my nails so short until she stopped. Once she got to removing my cuticles she did a very poor job of doing so. Although I am not the most picky person when it comes to getting my nails done I do like them to look clean. As the added polish to my nails she did a very sloppy job and I was very unhappy with the outcome because of how messy and unclean they were. Although I'm sure others at this salon may do a great job, I'm not sure how smart of them it is to have someone under the age of 18 doing nails, who hasn't gone through the proper schooling (again, out of reliable assumption because of the job outcome). The gentleman that did it seem nervous and the white painted tip was not a smooth line and some could even see part of a couple of nails he didn't cover. Because of the long holiday weekend and work I didn't come back until 5 days later. The person in charge said it looked like that because my nails grew(5days). After about 10 minutes the girl called me over and wasn't very pleasant she was extremely quiet and made no conversation what so ever. I would say my nails look "fair" she did not clean up my cuticles at all and I have nail dust in the acrylic area of multiple nails.
