Nails Maxx - Nail Salons Near Me - West Roxbury, Massachusetts

The only services I've had at Nail Maxx Co are pedicures and polish changes (toes). I'm very happy with their pedicures. They're reasonably priced ($28 for a basic pedi) and I've gone in without an appointment and never had to wait more than 10 minutes, tops. I also take advantage of the "polish change" service when I don't have time for a full pedicure. It costs less than half the amount of a pedicure, and they do a nice job: filing, taking care of cuticles, and polishing. The atmosphere at Nail Maxx Co is pleasant. The pedicure chairs are in separate little "rooms" behind bead curtains, but there are window-like opening on the walls which allow you to see into the next room while still providing a private feel. The salon overall is quite spacious, and it's new and clean-looking. There's a Starbucks next door, so it's nice to pick up a latte and settle into the massage chair to relax while one of the nice ladies on the staff gives me a pedi. I usually park in the supermarket lot next door, but there's also limited street parking. read more

Nice manicurist, but not that thorough of a (gel) manicure. Did not ask if I was happy with the shape after filing. No cuticle oil. Kind of rushed during the actual polish. Positives: extremely clean salon, nice atmosphere, fair price ($28). But I'll stick with my usual places in Coolidge Corner. read more

I wanted to write an updated review because I haven't had a bad experience since! I will continue to love going here. Thank you to Linh for responding to my review. read more

I love this salon! The prices are very reasonable and they can always fit you in. Once you find someone you like it is easy to book with them and be satisfied with the results. read more

Let me begin by saying that the service I received was a refill for acrylic nails. The reason for 2 stars as opposed to 1 is because I have had some positive experience in the past but not recently. So, I updated my review with the average of my experience here. You've been warned: if you choose to go here you may have a very negative experience or a positive one. There is no consistency here whatsoever. My last experience was less than favorable. The girl applied the polish unevenly so I had her redo it and it was still uneven. I went back the next day and a wonderful lady fixed it. However, less than 1 week later the acrylic was detaching from 6 of my nails and one even broke. FYI... I keep my nails very short. I was going to give them another chance because I generally have more positive than negative experiences with them but... I called last night to make an appointment for 9am today (they open at 9am). I was told (by the owner) that 9:30am was the first appointment because "the girls don't get here on time." I just think that's poor business practice. Don't claim to open at 9am! Another thing to be mindful of is that credit cards are accepted for services but tips must be in cash. read more

Just wow, Jason gives the best pedicure ever. I will never go anywhere else. They are so friendly , courteous, clean, and most importantly, do an amazing job! Ask for Jason! read more

I hardly ever get my nails done, so I don't have much experience to compare Nails Maxx to. But what I can say is each lady here who has done my nails has been incredibly nice, especially Lee Mai (not sure of the spelling of her name). She takes such good care of her customers and is totally genuine. I always choose unusual colors like baby blue and sherbet orange, and they have a pretty good variety of colors. It's a peaceful environment, clean, soft lighting, with the gentle sound of running water. I also like that it is literally right across the street from a Starbucks, so I can wait there while my friend gets her nails done, if I'm not needing to get mine done at the same time. read more

Nina is amazing hands down. She is so great to talk to and makes getting a mani/pedi fun and relaxing. My manicure and pedicure were amazing! She listens to exactly what you want and executed perfectly. 100/100 highly recommend her! read more

Nail Maxx is great! It's very clean!! Jason is excellent and so fun to chat with. Lucy is also amazing. If you want to treat yourself have a pedicure with Jason. They are being very careful following Covid precautions. They put up barriers between the client and employee. read more

I've been going to Nails Maxx for years now. The people who work there are all so kind, and take their time to ensure your nails are beautiful before you leave. I have become a regular at this salon and I wouldn't start going anywhere else because I love it here so much. I see Nina for the dip powder manicure and she always does a fabulous job and keeps my nails looking natural. She has deterred me from anything that will harm my nails and has helped me grow my nails beautifully over the past few months. This salon is extremely clean and the people who work here do an amazing job. I highly recommend! read more

I've been coming here for 2 years and am actually devastated that I will be moving to a new neighborhood where it will be too far. I'm VERY picky when it comes to my acrylics -- I've had (almost) every employee at this salon do them for me, and have only been disappointed ONCE, which is pretty impressive for going every 2 weeks for 2 full years. Its spotlessly clean, very affordable, and the staff is unreal. For example, I'm a crybaby when it comes to having my shellac scraped off, and I've personally witnessed the owner tell technicians to be gentle with me because she remembered that about me (so embarrassing, but awesome.) They're the best of the best. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I'm usually out to find the best hole in the wall salon because my nails are hardly ever a priority and I am cheap. I ran into Nail Maxx because I was desperate and had to be at wedding in less than 2 hours. $41 for a mani-pedi would usually have me rolling my eyes but it was worth every penny. They do it right and fast. I would even recommend taking a few friends or your mom because it's clean, air conditioned and pleasantly comfortable. I think my days of letting the creepy guy with the one long pinky nail, massage my hands & feet in a half-lit room for $25 are over. I would give it 5 stars, but again, I'm cheap. read more

I was very skeptical of a place called "Nails Max Co." but it exceeded my expectations. I have only ever had a pedicure so I can only rate based on that. The girls I've had each time I've gone have been very sweet and good at what they do. I love that you have your pedicure in a private section separated by curtains. The chairs are massaging and the foot tub has jets. Everything is very clean. The foot massage that's part of the pedicure feels amazing. I didn't give it a 4 or 5 because on their menu, they list you can get a French or American style polish and when I asked for the American style, he didn't understand what I meant and I had to settle for the French. It's a very subtle difference, but something I notice every time I look down. I also would have preferred a rounder nail than what she filed, but she did a nice job nonetheless. The price is reasonable and they have a large variety of polishes. I'll be back. read more

I don't know the women at this salon like my regular salon/spa but I LOVE that I can just walk in and take anyone who works there and they do an amazing job. If you tell the male owner, "I am stressed and I need...." he will give you the best person he has. I am there today later this afternoon and I'm waiting for this time to myself like someone about to get a million dollar reward. It's THAT good, ladies. Quality is a bit more expensive but worth every single nickel. You gotta go... and you'll relax like you've never relaxed before! They have expert waxing and I hope one day, facials... I'm going to ask Santa next month to get Nails Maxx to add esthetics to their lineup--then it will be 100% Heaven! read more

I love this place. I always get a quick appt - walk in or call in. I've never had a bad pedi here and I"m here once or twice a month (I can't help it, I'm obsessed with using a nice pedicure to make my feet look good). It's a little pricey, but totally worth it. read more

It's tough to give them a very positive or negative review so I'll go down the middle. The salon is large and clean and I've had nothing but pleasant interactions with the staff, but the end product has always been subpar. They do a great job initially but almost always my gel nails are peeling and chipping after a day or two. I know it can differ depending on the polish but it's consistently the case here. I'd return for a pedicure or wax but can't justify an almost $30 manicure that doesn't even last a week. read more

I got a gel manicure done recently, light pink, and within 48 hours, they had turned a brown color. Never in my life have I seen this, and I have gotten gel plenty of times. I went in to the store and asked them to resolve the issue, and I was given a hard time being told that it was my fault and I must have done something. If I had done something I would have owned up to it, and not asked them to resolve it. While getting my nails fixed, I only heard about it was my fault and that they would not do this again. I was even asked if I got them there before. It was extremely unprofessional and the manager was very aggressive. I would never recommend this nail salon to anyone. Plenty of places to go in West Roxbury, avoid this one. read more

Well...first time, walked in for a quick wax and they couldn't wax an upper lip properly, so I won't be back. I think that's very telling. Thankful I didn't have them do my eyebrows. read more

Just a follow up - my shellac manicure lasted me 3 1/2 weeks...not that I should have kept the polish on that long, but no chips for 3 1/2 weeks! Amazing. read more

Nina is by far the best nail tech I ever had. All three stars are because of her. Otherwise, I would give this place 0 stars. Sure is a nice establishment with clean facilities and what it seems to be a reputable place to go for doing your nails, but when we showed the manager the chipped nail disaster I endured the day before my sisters wedding (my nail polish had chipped the day after I got my nails done and the day before my sister 's wedding where I was a maid of honor) and she showed no sympathy for their cheap nail colors and probably their acetone deluded polish that caused my too-soon chipping, I was not offered an ounce of sympathy or even any type of credit even though I been a customer for years. Sad story. I only keep coming back because of the clean facilities, now I used gel only, and because of my nail tech which I found soon after my sad mishap... they need to thank Nina for their sad 3 stars .... read more

Today I had the worst eyebrow waxing experience of my life (not an exaggeration). I was getting a facial and the lady asked me if I would like my eyebrows waxed. I kindly responded that I am trying to grow them out and she told me she would only clean them up slightly. At the end when I looked in the mirror I was horrified to find my eyebrows skinnier than ever and half of my eyebrow was missing in the front. I have been trying to grow out my eyebrows for months and this was truly a traumatic experience. I will not be getting my eyebrows done anymore. I also a got a very mediocre gel manicure done today. The lady seemed rushed and skipped many crucial steps for manicure. The people are kind but the quality of service is not worth your time and money. read more

Best pedicure in West Roxbury. I like the room dividers so you don't have to look at peoples nasty feet. They are thorough, careful, and sanitary. Pedicure always lasts. read more

I'm surprised at all the negative reviews...I love this place. I consistently get gel manicure and regular pedicures and am always happy with the experience and the results. The technicians are skilled and friendly and with an appointment, I'm never kept waiting. The salon is clean and comfortable and there are lots of colors to choose from. Some of my favorite technicians are Lucy (who does a great job with eyebrows and nails... she's particularly gentle removing gel polish) and Kylie (who gave me the most careful and precise manicure I've ever received). Hannah is also very good. I like that Nails Maxx services such a diversity of people, men and women, of a variety of ages. There've been a number of times when a child is getting a special treat pedicure while an older woman is happily reading a book while getting her toes done. read more

I needed a manicure and pedicure before taking off on a long trip. My usual place was busy and I went there because it is a convenient location. Big mistake! There were not customers and still I had to wait for almost 10 minutes to be noticed. This is the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever gotten. The woman cut my toe and I bled. Later I had an ingrown toenail because of the way she cut them. I will never go back there! read more

I love this place! They have several semi-private pedicure areas, each with a fringe curtain and two chairs, so you can visit with a friend while you have your toesies done. They always do a great job. I've gotten shellac nails for special occasions and they were able to custom match my pedi color. Friendly and professional service, I do not go anywhere else. read more

Had my first professional pedi there last week. While I didn't know what to expect, I found the treatment very relaxing. My girlfriend and I went and while we did not have an appointment, within moments of picking out our polish, we were seated in the chair with our feet soaking. It was lovely. Thought the price might have been a touch high ($28) but with no other experiences to draw on, I can't say for certain. All in all, I would likely go back. Maybe. read more

My coworkers recommended that I try this salon out and I had a pretty good experience. I came in with dip powder with tips, but one of my nails broke. I decided to just remove the whole thing because the set was pretty old anyways. I got a gel manicure after she removed that. Everything came out to $33 which is pretty amazing. I expected to pay at least $40. The shop was relatively empty so I was able to be seen right away. The lady I had was quick but efficient. My nails are pretty, but I will say that she could have taken a little bit more time in shaping them. Nonetheless, I was satisfied. Also note that they only accept cash tips!!! read more

I gave it two stars because it is a nice and clean salon. HOWEVER, the staff is not very friendly or good. The manicurist are the stereotypical kind who break into Vietnamese when you express your preferences, then look at you and smile. After leaving I scratched my arm and discovered several jagged nails and polish still all over the back of my hand, I went back to have them fixed and the polish removed but this is substandard service. I will try Polish n' Refine next time. read more

I went to this place for the first time. I got a facial. Which was pretty basic. She place a few different creams on my face and i was done. I was left with tons of blackheads. Then i got a pedi and full set. I was happy with the results until 3 weeks later when i removed the acrylic nails, 3 of my natural nails have green fungus stains which means that this place isn't very sanitary. Im very upset. I paid this place $120 for the service i received and got fungus. I will no longer go there. read more

Clean and quiet salon. Staff was friendly and attentive. Never left rushed and would definitely be back. be better make app, they are pretty busy all the time. They do 5% cash back when you pay by cash for 10 times and I got almost half off for the 11 visit, such a good deal! read more

This place is clean and has a nice feel to it but if you are looking for a good or even decent pedicure, go elsewhere. Now, I am not looking for perfection from a $28 pedicure but...my entire pedicure took less than 20 min. which is a bad start. When I looked at my toes after she was finished, there were 3 filed crooked, one had a sharp edge and there was still skin that should have been buffed off. Not to mention that 3 of my toes did not even have polish to the edge of the nail. She also kept twisting my feet so that she could work on them as opposed to her moving her rolling stool around. I complained and she re did her work but begrugingly. First and last time going there. read more

I've been coming here for years. I'm always treated with professionalism and respect. I don't have a preference with who does my nails, as all the technicians are good at what they do... Love this place and would recommend anyone to come. PS: I love how they have plastic covers on their pedicure chairs. No fungus here! LOL read more

Slight improvement is customer service since the first time I went. Competent manicure, nothing special. Good color selection. I went on a very busy SUnday, around 1 pm, no wait. read more

worst manicure experience from start to finish. rude welcome from the receptionist. i made an appointment for myself and my sister and we were seated separately when we clearly wanted to sit together. i was helped by three different nail techs and felt like i was a burden being shuffled around. in addition, the designs we requested were done poorly and mine had to be removed. finally my sister's GEL polish is already chipping after only a week. our appointment was for 6pm with a closing time of 7pm and from the moment we arrived it felt like they were trying to get rid of us as fast as possible. i would not recommend going to this place at all. read more

Nails Maxx is a great place to go if you need something quick and reasonably priced. They're overall good at what they do, but it honestly depends on who you get. Some are very talented, and some looked like students-rushing through jobs to get back to their studying. I love how they have the private section room for pedicures, and some have two seats to a room. It was great that they had that, I got to be with my mom! I am giving it 4 stars because when you get someone good, they really take their time (but still aren't like obnoxiously slow) and make your nails look great. To sum it up, if you're looking for a decent manicure/pedicure at a somewhat decent price, go to Nails Maxx. read more

I have tried every single nail salon down Center St. in West Roxbury. Yet I keep going back to nail maxx. It is extremely clean, everyone who works there is extremely friendly. If you ask them to help you chose a color for the occasion you have in mind they help you by talking to you about what color you are looking for and they'll show you different shades and even ask you once they've put it on if its ok or not. I get gel manicures and regular pedi's, together it comes to about 57 dollars which is about 2 dollars more then the other nails salons in the area. I decide to spend the extra 2 dollars because it is worth it. I once kept my gel manicure on for 3 weeks and it did not chip or come up at all!! I was surprised it lasted that long. During the weekend they are busy so you should call ahead to make an apt. read more

Does not even deserve 1 star I was patient with the way I handled my refund, never going back horrible service. I got a gel manicure with in a few days almost all of them had chipped. I have had bad experiences in the past here but wanted to give them another shot. Never again and I didn't even get the full refund of 37 dollars witch any other salon would have refunded if their customer is not satisfied. Also nail tech that did my nails said she had told me they would chip and that she had to take a full set off acrylics off and she did not say or do any of that. Do not go here horrible horrible service 0 out of 5 stars read more
