I bought a mani- pedi coupon on Groupon and made an appt. She was prompt, it is a one person salon. Pedicure was ok, not the best. Manicure, well she did not even ask what shape I wanted my nails. I just wanted out by then. My issue with this service revolves mainly around the conversation. It was pleasant at first. She soon evolved into hateful racist speech. Apparently the immigrants (according to her they are all immigrants) in the medical center area do not work, live on welfare and need to all be deported. The venom in this woman's voice was palpable as she spoke of having to wait for the "immigrant children" to get off a school bus. There was more, but I don't want to take up all your time. Don't go here unless you want to listen to MAGA fueled hate. read more

Today I had a mani-pedi done at Nails, Inc. The salon was very clean and comfortable. Just so you know, it is tucked away in a business park but not too hard to find. When I initially called I was sent to voicemail, but Dawn got back to me quickly. I was happy I was able to get a Saturday appointment! Dawn was friendly and did a great job! I purchased two Groupon deals ($30 each) for my wife and daughter for Valentines Day to get a gel manicure and a spa pedicure. It required that I make an appointment. I called and got an answering machine which a lady later returned my call. I explained I wanted to make an appointment for my daughter and wife to use the purchase I had made. She huffed and said " first of all you can't use those together because only one person here honors them" I said, oh it didn't say that on the listing? She said, " well sorry I don't deal with Groupon but you can't" I said ok what appointments fo you have open? She stated that the earliest would be a week away for one of them. I wanted a thin layer of acrylic over my own natural nails and she was the only person to be able to give it to me. I hate all the goopy acrylic that makes your nails look even more fake. I called, hoping to score a appointment the same day, and this rude lady answered. I made the appointment for 4, luckily. This would be my first time at this place so when I asked for directions the lady gave them but sounded like She was annoyed it. She gave the directions fast, and when I asked if I could call back if I got lost her reply was that it would be better if I had written them down. Whatever, got here early, and find the place and the door is locked. LOCKED. -Wanted a basic mani, satisfied with the result, though she cut my cuticles dry. -The place is clean, location is kind of hidden. -Had a misunderstanding due to a Yelp deal that I bought. Lesson is, never trust yelp deals until you double check with the business directly. The owner took care of it, but seemed really annoyed (mostly at Yelp) which was kind of funny, because she was the one that accepted the offer in the first place. So, I guess lesson goes both ways: customer, double check your yelp deals. Owner, make sure you understand your yelp deals. I was the first customer coming in with that promotion, and I think the owner cancelled it after that due to the misunderstanding. I totally understand the owners bad mood towards this, but what I did not appreciate was that she assumed from the start that I was not going to give her a tip, and even made a statement that "she works out of gratuity"...whew! I'm sorry, but assuming that I'm not going to leave you a tip just because I came with a deal on my hand, is kind of well, a big assumption ;) I was always sweet, kept my cool, and left my tip because, well, that is what I always do based on the service! She did a satisfactory job for me, so a tip I left. DO NOT GO HERE! THIS IS A VERY HONEST REVIEW! I called to schedule an appointment & judging from the fact that Groupon called this a "SPA" I imagined there would be a receptionist attending the phones. I called several times in hope of an answer. I wasn't frustrated nor mad at the fact that I had to call several times. I decided to leave a message instead. About 10 min later I get a call back. I nicely answer the phone by "good afternoon" and the lady says "I know you called 4 times before leaving a message, I'm doing a pedicure" I apologized for my consistency. In my phone message I said I would like to schedule an appointment at 6:30pm, to which she said, "I close at 7 so that would not be possible" then she continued to give me other options which I had to take time to consider, so I said "I guess I'll have to call back, and she replied with a rude "yeah YOU call back" I asked her why she was talking to me that way, and she said she wasn't being rude she was just telling me things are they are and I ended the call by saying I judging by the call I will not like to be attended there, and I will cancel my Groupon purchase and for her to have a nice a day, then she replied "I will". I have been here twice now. The first time was to use a groupon and yesterday I went in for a full set. She doesn't use nail tips. She actually builds the nail and hand filed. No drills here. My nails were finished in a little over an hour. I was nervous at first because I read some bad reviews. No need to worry. Class act all the way. Highly recommend! read more

I visited Nails, Inc. today with my daughter after purchasing Groupons to use there. First of all - hard to find, and the files used did not come out of sterilized packages. We both had pedicures done and Shellac nails. The "TECHNICIAN" as she liked to refer to her self was slow, overly gabby, and blamed the customer when she ran out of time to do a proper job. We will be going somewhere else to have our nails redone tomorrow, as they are uneven, already chipping and dull. On my daughter's manicure, one hand is shiny and the other is not, as one hand had 2 coats of top coat and the other had only one. In addition, the Tech added a mandatory gratuity to the bill, far above what I would have left for her, for that level of service. If you do not want to have Groupon customers then do not sign up for Groupon! I looked over the Groupon agreement when I returned home, as I thought I had missed that gratutity rule somewhere, but no........ So, to sum up - a horrible experience. Worst experience ever! Living Social called it a SPA, there was no spa, it was a foot bath the kind you buy at the store! Very unsanitary, rude, and hard to find. This is an office not a salon, my nails started chipping later that day because she diluted the polish so much. The sign in your face as you sit in her worn out furniture says 20% gratuity for those using coupons! Never heard of that. Not to mention she wanted me to scrape off my shellac nail polish!! The best my nails have ever looked!! When my husband and I moved to San Antonio, I wanted to find an American owned nail salon to do my nails. I have had acrylic nails for over 15 years, and it is hard to find someone now who doesn't use drills and actually cares about how your nails look. Dawn does everything by hand, also, all of her implements and files come out of a sterilizing machine in front of you. Not out of a plastic bag. Purchased this for my wife and daughter, so they could have a mother daughter day. Unfortunately it turned into a bad experience for the both of them. First trying to schedule the appointment, the rep on the phone threw an attitude when it took a min to get the voucher#'s. Then when they went to there appointment at 2:00pm the lady was late and they were sitting outside. The office (yes, an actual office not salon) is very dated and the foot spa that is used is the same you can purchase at any brick and mortar store. The lady who did there nails was so involved with herself and her stories that my wife and daughter could not talk to each other. The files and foot bath were not disinfected or cleaned between uses. The good thing is they learned about the owner's boyfriends, ex-boyfriends ect ect. She lets you know that she does nails at the Hilton and loves it because of the tips. She was always hinting about the tips. She worked on my daughters nails, did have an issue with some pain when working on her cuticles. Then my wife had her chance, she did the acrylics and feet. Well before she started on the clear top coat of the nails, she asked my wife about her tip. My wife thought $10.00 was about all she was worth, but the lady bluntly told her that she has to tip at full service price and it was $36.00. Wife advised her that's all she had, and the owner advised her there was a bank across the street with ATM. My wife took the chance and took the daughter and said I will be right back with your tip. She did not get her top coat and the rep from the salon called her cell phone 3 separate times during that day each time leaving nastier and nastier messages. Next day wife my wife's edges started to come up and 2 days later one of my daughters gel coats completely came off and the other nails are starting to chip off. read more
